Thank you 6 Music for introducing me to Ana Calvi when you started playing her debut. She is fantastic, with a mesmerizing sound. I appreciate the fact she has oodles of talent, yet maintains a humbleness.
I'm always impressed by anyone who picks up a Telecaster. It's a guitar that doesn't let you hide. Les Paul: like a wearing 3-piece suit; it'll complement anyone. Stratocaster: like walking around naked; you're going to need confidence. Telecaster: like having no skin; even your insides are showing, and you need guts to play it well. Nice work, Calvi.
Telecaster looks more like you are short minded and need some1 to tell you what a real guitar should look like. Either Gibson SG or Strat, but tele??? tele caca???
Maybe if some of you spent more time practicing, you probably wouldn’t feel as bitter, jealous or as threatened (as you very clearly do) by this tiny, 5ft woman. Come back and say your piece once you’ve mastered her unique, circular, harp-like technique and amazing sweeps in ‘Rider to the sea.’ I won’t hold my breath.

I was reading something saying she was classed as a virtuoso but i cant really hear that to be honest she sounded pretty crap on them covers, her own riff she played sounded decent but the covers not so good

She is truly awesome beyond belief. Both singing and guitar playing are exceptional.
