Stars fan here and agree with the sentiment of everything you said. Like who goes to a Stars game and is like "damn I need to buy one of those unedited create-a-team jerseys"
Disney sold the team and the logos along with it. Remember the og jerseys were the original nhl teams jerseys and simply incorporated into the movies. When u sell a team a part of the team is the logos and colors. Disney would actually have to pay the anaheim ducks if they wanted to use it in a show which is why in game changers they never used the actual duck logo.
In 2004, I first started playing a hockey simulator on my PC. It was the EA NHL 2004, of course. At that time, despite the fact that I loved hockey, supported the local team and played myself, I knew almost nothing about the NHL, since it was very difficult to watch NHL games in my country - no channels were broadcasting NHL games - and the NHL was mentioned in the sports news once a week, at best. The NHL was something of a myth, a legend among us. Everyone has heard stories about the Super Hockey League, but no one has really seen it. So, I started playing the Dynasty mode and while selecting a team I came across the "Anaheim Mighty Ducks" logo and immediately chose this team. It was the coolest hockey logo I've ever seen. You may not believe me, but that year I was not the only one who started playing in the EA NHL 2004, but also several of my friends... and they all chose the "Anaheim Mighty Ducks" as well :))
As a Ducks fan for all 27 years of my life, you echoed every single one of my sentiments on this issue. There is NO excuse why ownership seemingly ignores the obvious here. Those uniforms were and still are our identity. All of us kids who grew up with those uniforms are now your season ticket holders. It's time to stop the nonsense and revert.
I want the team to completely go away from the color orange. I hated how they force fed us these colors. One of the worst decisions was to do away with one of the most iconic logos in sports to a simple webbed D. Always wished they would’ve won the cup in those old colors and logos 😕
As a kid the Mighty Ducks jerseys were my favourite, right up until that team (with their new jerseys) dismantled Ottawa in 2007. Took me 10 years to get over it.
I'm honestly trying to think if there ever was another team that had this sharp of a decline between two main jerseys sets at the Mighty Ducks becoming the Ducks in 06. I'm not even a fan, but I believe the Mighty jersey is in the GOAT conversation. And the Cup jersey was just... there. Other candidates for the biggest fall could include Dallas in 07. And, even though I secretly love them, the Canucks' 78 move was objectively a bad idea
It’s been a process and probing the copyright law was apart of it. We had to do a lot of stuff just to get the logo back and because of how controlling Disney is during our tribute to the movie night when they were supposed to wear the D5 green ones from the movie Disney actually wanted a bump up in royalties and they were also the reason those jerseys stayed on the rack costing around $400 dollars our logo for the 30th anniversary was also a shot in the dark but was also apart of our probing too just compare them to the show they had on Disney plus and you’ll see what I mean. But anyway there’s been something that’s been a long time comming and you’ll get to see it on draft day.
Even if they don't want to go back to the cartoon duck logo, they could use the current duck-foot D in matching colors with the old school diagonal graphic jerseys. Have the main-color-orange in the old school pattern as the alternate. The problem jersey is iconic for a reason. I grew up on the east coast and was Penguins fan until the Hurricanes moved in, but my first rec league team (first time playing properly organized and everyone in matching uniforms instead of "dark vs light" pickup games) was thr eggplant color original Mighty Ducks pattern jersey. I am still sad twenty five or so years later (holy crap i feel old writing that out) that I had to return it at the end of the season (jerseys got reused each year).
I feel like the only person that likes the orange jerseys with the old Mighty Ducks logo. it's still not as good the purple but I think it's beautiful!!
i love the ducks and i might be one of the few who love the current jersey, but its hard not to agree that bringing back the Eggplant jersey would be amazing
They’re sitting on a gold mine of merch, I think they realized it more this season since a lot of old retro merch has been dominating their sales for the 30th anniversary. I hope they wake up and realize we all want the old colors and logos 😭 they literally have the worst unis in hockey, it’s embarrassing 😣 hope they listen to the fans and go back!
I love the original logo, I also grew up with it. But I don’t mind the change to orange and black. I mostly just disliked the duck foot D. If their new jerseys were more black with black helmets and pants, I’d prefer them. And you’re right, Orange County doesn’t care if they use orange, but they also don’t care enough if they wear teal and eggplant.
Funny, I always thought the colors is more for hunting colors especially considering Hunter Orange is a thing. Honestly I am not especially against the current jerseys as the full name jerseys are the Ducks greatest atrocity to the hockey world. Still, I would never say they a superior to the Original designs and would very much welcome a return.
They never will. They even know literally everyone wants the old colors and jerseys and would make ton of money and still won’t do it. You know it’s bad when they know they would profit and still choose not to put of some stupid principle.
Yea the newer ducks stuff is boring corporate design trash. They obviously needed to separate themselves from the Disney ducks as much as possible for some legal reasons most likely.
Might be in the minority but I actually like the current look for the Ducks. For a guy that love the old school logo and mighty ducks logo as well. I don’t mind it at all, the watermark logo was bad. But I appreciate the orange bc well Orange County. And yes we do care lol But yeah, bring back the logo fully
Not a popular opinion but I love the orange and black and the duck foot logo. I hope they bring back the classic jerseys but keep the orange somehow. The orange alternates are beautiful.
I dont mind the gold. I think it might even be cool if they brought back the eggplant and jade with a hint of gold for modernization. The 30th jerseys are absolutely perfect imo
The jerseys the Ducks had when they won the Stanley Cup were the all-time worst Stanley Cup champion jerseys. Nothing else even close. Not even professional level. They should have been embarrassed. Your only championship and you were weraring those rags. Their current look is better than that. The originals, eh, I don't like the colors. Looks like made up by someone who was color blind. The design wasn't bad, but I'd ditch those colors. They should somehow use mallard green--like a real duck.
Funny I thing is, I absolutely despise the ducks being a sharks fan, however I actually prefer the current jersey. I think the orange and beige looks really cool😢
As a longtime Ducks fan, I still remember 2006, when Disney hate was at a high and the MD jerseys were seen as the worst in the league. The black "Anaheim" script alternate jersey was selling much better than the traditional MD ones, which were seen as dated and tired. And that script look led to the first "DUCKS" jersey, which many saw as "anything is better than Disney." I've come to love the orange and I actually prefer the "D" logo (especially after the many years of the "DUCKS" script logo). But I am still on the side of not wanting the old Disney look back. Those were truly dark eras in franchise history, being a futile franchise that was spinning its wheels. And I have met a lot of folks who care a lot about being from Orange County, especially with LA right next door and needing a way to differentiate between LA and OC. However, I do feel that it's time for a facelift. The current jerseys (which were once well-received, especially the white one) have run their course. They need something fresh. I was kind of hoping we'd see a variation of the Reverse Retro 2.0 jersey as home/away (eg. white away and orange home) and a retro color version for an alternate. That'd be a good way to appease fans who like the new and the fans who like the old.
Yeah all those old heads can suck it. All the fans of the movies grew up and love the old colors and logos. The merch department has the numbers, the MD merch sales over the current logo and colors are so lopsided. They almost have no choice but to go back. And I’ve lived here my whole life, no one has OC “pride” LOL only weirdos from HB think like that. And The 30th anniversary sweaters were a step in the right direction. Hopefully they go back next season
I don't see anything wrong with either jersey. I am not emotionally attached to certain ones of any nhl team and resistant of change. Some people never learn that change is going to happen and things aren't going to stick around forever
Pittsburgh Steeler jerseys don't change, neither do the Dallas cowboys with the Green Bay Packers, Raiders, Chicago bears, colts. It's something to be said about upholding tradition.
I'm the minority and actually don't like the mighty ducks look. Something about it just doesn't strike a nerve in the visual distinction department for me. Now I will say the current sweater is ugly. I can't stand the striping along the side of it. So dumb.
Stars fan here and agree with the sentiment of everything you said. Like who goes to a Stars game and is like "damn I need to buy one of those unedited create-a-team jerseys"
They could go back to the mighty ducks look at any point, they own the rights to the logos and jerseys
Sterile is the word that comes to mind when I think of the new Ducks jerseys
One of my prized posessions is a Paul Kariya Wild Wings sweater. It's the first sweater I ever purchased for myself.
I don't know why they don't just do it 😔😭
I wish they would just fold. Any team created as a marketing ploy for a movie should be relocated immediately.
maybe cause they aren't emotionally attached to them and don't resist change like yourself. Things can't stay the same forever. Change is inevitable
@@Shurehlm Shut up please :)
@@ethanparker7900things don't need to change. 😢
They have to keep changing jerseys so fans buy more

Well this video aged well
As a kid the Mighty Ducks jerseys were my favourite, right up until that team (with their new jerseys) dismantled Ottawa in 2007. Took me 10 years to get over it.
Fantastic video. Couldn't agree more. The gold is vomit coloured. next time someone in your life throws up, think of Anaheim. it's spot on.
The Ducks jerseys got so bad they made Ryan Getzlaf's hair fall out!
I actually love the orange sweaters with the OG duck logo, but they should be alternates. They need the original unis. They were sick!
I'm honestly trying to think if there ever was another team that had this sharp of a decline between two main jerseys sets at the Mighty Ducks becoming the Ducks in 06. I'm not even a fan, but I believe the Mighty jersey is in the GOAT conversation. And the Cup jersey was just... there.

The Norwood reaper came with vengeance.
Bring it back and with it bring back Vancouver's plate of spaghettis as their main jersey
That will probably happen for Van if they exit in the first round this year
They won the cup at the wrong time. I wish they still wore the original duck when they won it.
It’s been a process and probing the copyright law was apart of it. i dont even watch hockey anymore and i like your vids, these are 100k sub quality

I'm an Avalanche fan and one of my favorite jerseys of all time is the OG Ducks jerseys.
That's saying something, as I think the Aves nailed it with their jersey from the beginning.
Nashville Predator's original uniform was fire, too! They also should go back to the original!
I feel like the only person that likes the orange jerseys with the old Mighty Ducks logo. it's still not as good the purple but I think it's beautiful!!
Too many people living in the past. The orange is beautiful
i love the ducks and i might be one of the few who love the current jersey, but its hard not to agree that bringing back the Eggplant jersey would be amazing
Quit with the orange already…looks terrible.
They’re sitting on a gold mine of merch, I think they realized it more this season since a lot of old retro merch has been dominating their sales for the 30th anniversary. You literally solved their problem bring back the old jerseys than have an orange alternate
the current ducks jersey looks like an ECHL jersey. they look like they should be playing somewhere that only has seats on one side of the ice
How funny would it be if wild wind was a summon for kingdom hearts 4
Its a braindead move to not go back.
Well they changed it back.. kind of lol. What are your thoughts?
Might ducks logo and colors then compared to what they have now might be the worst downgrade of any team in American sports
To be honest I love the orange and gold. You gotta remember these are the colors that they won their first cup in. Not purple.
maby im alone but their 2010 jersey look really good!
Agreed!
Funny, I always thought the colors is more for hunting colors especially considering Hunter Orange is a thing. Honestly I am not especially against the current jerseys as the full name jerseys are the Ducks greatest atrocity to the hockey world. Bring back the Stinger Columbus jerseys dammit
I like the word mark logo just make it jade and eggplant
the orange is probably because those are the colors of a duck, but I do think they should go back to eggplant and jade, even with the new logo
A mallard duck is mostly gray & green so the Philadelphia Eagles are more duck colored than the Anaheim Ducks.
They never will. They even know literally everyone wants the old colors and jerseys and would make ton of money and still won’t do it. You know it’s bad when they know they would profit and still choose not to put of some stupid principle.
I've yet to meet anyone who disagrees.
Yea the newer ducks stuff is boring corporate design trash. They obviously needed to separate themselves from the Disney ducks as much as possible for some legal reasons most likely.
But they already wear it.
Orange and gold = Orange County in the golden state
Might be in the minority but I actually like the current look for the Ducks. For a guy that love the old school logo and mighty ducks logo as well. I don’t mind it at all, the watermark logo was bad. The color orange doesn’t represent us OC people man cmon lol have the Angels ever worn orange? it’s an ugly color lol hope they go back
See i like the colours but the old logo as the main one
I'm still adidas Anaheim Ducks fan
Me im not a Fanatics Fan
I will say that is definately a shade of teal not a shade of green called jade.
Guess what, buddy?
I dislike the purple. I am fine with the teal.
go back to green and purple!
I never liked the old one.
I’d love to see an orange and eggplant jersey!
I can dig it
orange has to go
Not a popular opinion but I love the orange and black and the duck foot logo. I hope they bring back the classic jerseys but keep the orange somehow. The orange alternates are beautiful.
