  • The flamethrower build is one of the most complicated playstyles in Helldivers 2. In order to make it a little easier to grasp, I go in depth into everything you need to know about the flamethrower, flame weapons & all things related to fire. Tier lists, moving imagery, loud noises. Ill use it all to retain your attention in episode 3 of HELPDIVERS.
    Thank you to mr Scroid for the voiceover. He played CSGO 7 months ago.

    Not that this was a serious tactics video, but one thing I think is important to know when using the flamethrower is that chargers die quickly if you focus on one leg, not center of mass. Randoms that use my flamethrower never seem to know this, and are left with charger that is F****** RAW.

      Easiest charger kill IMO with flamethrower is stun grenade + hold flamethrower steady on closest leg. I know you know that OP, I'm just sharing my favorite way.

      @@TheChrisLeone In a perfect world where it’s just me and the charger, stuns wouldn’t be necessary since it will die after one charge. However, it’s me, the charger, the bile titan, 8 jumpy bastards, and assorted riffraff preventing optimal roasting positions.
      So yeah I agree if you want to be the dedicated anti charger, stuns are helpful. I really should have gotten that warbond, but got Detonation and Polar. On the bright side, a helmet from Polar and the fire fighter armor from Detonation looks dope when using the flamethrower.

      Wait really? So that's why some chargers die faster than 3/4 tank. And some take more. I don't know how charget legs work. Since I was never part if the leg meta when railgun was around. Thanks for the tip

      I think the ttk is around 4 seconds. Stuns/ cover fire are a must since your usual cover is all focused on its leg. Emphasis on fire.

      Sounds fun. On paper, until alexus gets his grubby hands on it.
      Great changes are coming overall.
      Now, what would be realistic, 4 seconds of flames? 5? 6 extra mags? 35-40 rounds per mag? Dmg, per shot, eh, the fire is the main attraction so who cares?
      Probably gonna be same as pummeler anyway. Ergonomics should be good since it’s an smg for cqb. How many shots to charge it? A whole mag to charge ti seems fair ish. Fire is really strong after all.

    Cooking is a passion of mine, and while I love the energy, you seriously underestimated the utility of a cast iron mech. I think you're leaving that steak practically blue. Heat your element with an eagle napalm, that gets the little veggie ones sautéed. Then, jump back in your mech and season its face WELL with your missile pod. Then, make sure to pepper the bile ducts. Bile titan strip, hellmire style.

    When recommending the Flamethrower, I like to make two points; the technically correct answer and the objectively funny answer.
    Technically correct: The flamethrower is exclusively a bug weapon. It's just coded to be bad on bots and straight up just can't kill tanks. If you think it can kill Hulk, it takes too much time and requires you to hit the heat sinks on its back. The flamethrower does much better on bugs and will kill everything minus Titans and Shriekers.
    The objectively funny answer: Bugs have nerves and therefore feel pain. Bots don't and therefore do not feel pain. Use the flamethrower on bugs!

They are basically fish right? Though I'm not sure if other fishermen would accept burning sentient aquatic aliens with gouts of intense yet portable fire to be "actual fishing". 🤔 Only one way to find out I suppose. 🐟🐟🐟

    Tips I've learned by mainly using the flamethrower. Don't ADS it's useless and slows your turn speed, if a bug is calling for a bug breach even if it's a Scavenger you won't have time to kill it, you can kill any bug easily (even easier with Enhanced Combustion) besides Bile Titans (you can light them on fire but it doesn't do much damage) and Shriekers because of range, hit the ground and the target with your flame, Hive Guards are annoying to kill and Spewers are annoyingly tanky to kill (the Spewers seriously need to be nerfed a lot), thermites are terrible, flamethrower are really good at holding off bug breaches, but be careful if friendlies throw shit (especially gas idk why people use it it's not really worth the risk and limiting a very good player for swarm clearing), your flame is affected by wind (so if you fire perpendicular to the wind, flame will appear on the ground behind where you fired), and finally bonus points if you fight on Hellmire (seriously am I the only one that plays on Hellmire, it has only been conquered like twice)

    • @hellcore9153
      @hellcore9153 2 месяца назад

      Also it is very good at destroying eggs, and you can easily get 50+ kills (on level 7 atleast) on a bug breach if you are smart with your plays.

    I was looking for actual tips to be honest, so I couldn't really appreciate the humor as much as I wanted to.
    Like where is the best to aim on smaller enemies? I've heard some people say the ground, others say onto the enemies themselves.
    What's the best way to avoid that kind of "back draft" you can get that lights you on fire sometimes?
    How much of a tank is required to kill certain things before and after the flame upgrade?
    You know... Actual research work.
    Am I an asshole for being disappointed when the title of the video is "The Complete Guide on Proper Flamethrower Usage" ??

    • @lohue9029
      @lohue9029  2 месяца назад +1

      no I think thats fine, its mostly a satirical video so I can appreciate it might not have been what youre after. I find most guides on the flamethrower to be very inconsistant & present a lot of "potential" truths. for example to answer your question about where to aim on smaller enemies & to avoid back drafts, its near never consistant over a large play time of "testing". sometimes it just happens for seemingly no reason. It feels like aming below a hive guards front armour works faster but other times it wont register the damage as quickly & back drafts will sometimes occur without any visual flame touching you so its hard to dictate whats going on. I think the flamethrower is the peak of just have fun with it & it will do its job, find your own style of play & dont worry about the numbers side of things. thats just my take anyway. love ya.

    • @wyattthealchemist
      @wyattthealchemist 2 месяца назад

      @@lohue9029 that's fair. I've noticed the inconsistency as well and I use it a lot. I manage to do good work with it often but then sometimes (like my game last night), I just end up screwing up constantly. Lit on fire left and right and a disappointing amount of kills. But you're probably right. Embrace the chaos and just do what ya can. Cheers mate.

    I don't want to be negative and hit you with a "Make this video how I would have made it," but I want to like these videos more than I do, and I'm not ENTIRELY sure why I don't.
    I feel like actual useful advice could be delivered in these, but I also get the joke that it's useless.
    If anything, I think it's that the Frequency and Impact of the jokes isn't high enough, this isn't a format where you can dwell on a bit that's not making someone laugh for too long.
    Also too much of this is just Not Advice, rather than the much funnier, Advice that Sucks.
    Like the open Flame Roast is what comes to my mind here. It's not advice, it's not anything. It's just "Don't aim with the flamethrower."
    ... Why? It's a statement thats not a tip nor trick, and there's no justification given outside of it giving swagger that no one sees.
    That joke could have been "Try not aiming. It's a flame thrower. You are trying to cook his whole zip code, not thread one between his eyes. A true chef is as wielded by his tools as they are by him, so become one with the stream and just let the napalm flow, until a crisp charcoal black. Now you are cookin with War Crimes!"
    Sorry I don't mean to tell you how to run your channel, I'd like to see you be successful, as the idea here is good, I'm just not feeling them like I want to be.
