I would love an official video of you showing how to disassemble and clean a ps5 both disc and digital. I always go to you're ps4 pro cleaning video to watch when taking apart my ps4 pro and cleaning it and swapping thermal paste and it always turns out perfect no issues. You give me confidence in watching your videos to do these things myself which is a credit to how detailed you are. I just came across some videos advising when cleaning your ps5 you might wanna clean the vents on the power supply as well but requires you to take it apart completely and remove the motherboard. I have confidence in doing that with my ps4 pro and you're videos. Now I need a ps5 version to do the same. I am typing this before watching the video which is always a no no. Im sure if you are replacing the power supply you will have to remove the motherboard but if you made a video doing this but make it about how to properly clean your ps5 it would be awesome.

I got my ps5 a little over a year ago. As soon I got it I went and plugged everything in and it worked fine as expected. Now at the time I was going through some stuff and I decided to leave it in the box. So a whopping year later (yes a year later) I decided to open it again. Now just about a little then a month and a half ago is when I got it out of the box. Again everything seemed fine. Until one dreadful morning I was in the mood to play some Spider-Man. Powered the ps5 and it kept flashing the blue and then it died on me. So I did it again until finally the safe mode came on. Went through almost all the steps and still the power would go off once I was off safe mode. Now my question is how is it that pretty much a brand new console has issues already when I haven’t even broken it in? Now I’m out of my one year warranty come to find out and now Sony is telling me I have to pay over 200 dollars. Now that’s some BS. I could understand a year is a long time but anything could happen. If I did something to cause this issue then I get it but it’s Sonys fault that their product is F**ked up. Any suggestions?

Great video. My ps5 decided to take a crap. Hit the power button it beeps blue light is solid for 3 seconds and turns off. Cant get it to go into safe mode. I did notice that my controllers where bot charging like usual. Think its. A power supply or nah?
@@fasttechvideo No. I did try to force it on by inserting a disc it started taking it ( disc) and stopped and shutdown. Now it won't start taking disc either. Like I mentioned above but had errors. I did notice before this happen my controllers were not charging at all from the USB port. I showed connected but would even charge my newest controller.
@@sparx2169 most likely a short in the usb at the front. The usb board can cause the system to not turn on in some cases. Whats the model number of your ps5?

We're both pretty techish. He (19) took a class in school. But we tried everything available to do. I say available because we cant even get into safe mode or ANY Screen. Hit the power button, fan kicks on, led turns blue and POOF instant shutdown. AND odd thing is, when it shuts down, if you hit the power button again, it doent do anything. But press it one more time and the Fan/Blue Light/Shut Down happens again. We have it apart, and seen his PSU is the 400FR as mentioned....lil more expensive/hard to find legit retailer. @@makii809 its possible it could be a bad power supply, I saw a similar issue with a PS4 pro a while ago. It is also possible its a board problem but try replacing the power supply first since its cheaper and easier. If you buy one from us and it doesn’t work, you can return it.

Check the ribbon cables, one in the front. The PS five does not have to be fully assembled for it to turn on. You only need to make sure that the ribbon cable for the power and eject button at the front is connected and that the power supplies is in

I'm in the same boat. My PS5 also stopped working after a lightning strike and won't turn on. Took it to a repair shop and they said it needs a new power supply, but they charged me almost $220. So I'm going to try to replace it myself following this video. Hopefully it works! Just a bit confused about the antenna part tho 😅
@@ludc8469 I took mine apart and tested the power supply and it was putting out 12 volts so it’s a motherboard issue. Replacing the power supply is fairly easy if you have to right tools. The antenna is just 2 wires that connect to the board and go to this metal piece that clips on the power supply, it’s pretty easy to take off. I’m sending mine off to get repaired hopefully they can replace whatever is wrong on the motherboard 🤞

I just replaced my psu (400FR) and it still powers on then shuts off after 3 seconds. I got the unit for 250 and the psu for 70. I have done this before and got one running. But this one (same 400FR) and nothing 😢

I found ants in the psu and it's giving 0v so I'll have to replace it. The mobo should be fine since it was shutdown. We'll see ig once I can get the psu in, this is a trip man...

A flashing blue light indicates a general hardware error. It could be anything from liquid metal spillage, APU chip problem or a SSD issue.

The black and white wires are for the antennas. They are not related to power issues. Check the power supply.

Sounds like overheating open it and clean the dust inside it or take it to a tech to make sure the Liquid Metal hasn’t dried up on the APU.

Damn, I got all the way done almost only to realize the pins don't line up cause I bought the wrong power supply model ig.
I bought one labeled as 400DR that turned out to be 400FR, which doesn't fit my PS5 at all because the plug is moved over away from the corner.

Hey thanks for the reply. I actually have the same issue just now. My ps5 isn't working exact same way. Never had an issue. Was playing COD, menu screen, and boom off it goes. If I unplug it, then plug back in, it triple beeps but doesn't turn on.

Do you ever have to unplug your ps5 for it to pulse blue again ?
Mine beeps , eject button beeps , blue light blinks for 1 second but it won’t come on what you think the problem might be ?

It overheated and gave me a black screen and shut off before this happened
@@nflrasta8809 check the tightness on the heatsink APU clamp and check the liquid metal. If this fails check your power supply
