Interrogators aren’t investigators. There was no doubt she murdered her mom there wasn’t much needed to be proven to the jury. She was found insane because she’s insane. The prosecutor AGREED. This altered perception makes you stop trusting anything even the people you know and your family you can become fearful of them. If I turn my back on a drink I think someone has poisoned it even if I don’t see anyone else around. You just don’t understand it’s hard for a healthy brain to relate to an unhealthy one. But once you get there yourself it’s like oh ok I understand how terrible this feeling is. And you’re basically alone in your experience until you die. Mental healthcare doesn’t exist in us either. No one screens people for illness until they commit a crime. I don’t see doctors because im convinced they don’t want to help me. It’s also very hard to put psychosis or delusions or altered perceptions into words for others to understand. Your GP will suggest it’s possibly psychosomatic, your neurologist will do dumb physical tests then shrug their shoulders, your cardiologist will say you’re too young for health issues even though I can hear my pulse/my blood sloshing next to my ears she says I’m too young to have narrowed arteries and tells me come back in a year, psychologist says go to a psychiatrist, psychiatrist yawns and hands you the same tier of medicine they give to depressed housewives. No one cares about your mental health until you attack someone else. It’s no proactive and so they let this Guzman girl down it’s society failing it’s people not people failing in society.

I'm guessing you've never been to jail..because "only 9 years" is a lonnng fucking time to be in a cage. I spent a week in jail after a fist fight with my dad as a teenager and that was the longest week of my 30 something years of life. I'm not super familiar with this case but I see similar comments to yours fairly often from people who probably have no gauge of what time behind bars is actually like and just see a number as some abstract representation of the severity of a punishment and so of course that number never seems sufficient. I encourage people to just try, for one day , go a single day, sitting in your room, with nothing, no screens, no books, nothing but a thin mat to lay on, no comfort snacks, have some stale bread and the shittiest piece of microwaved gray meat you can find, nothing else. Now ad some other person you probably don't like, who is probably hostile toward you, who gets to shit in that room with you and share a toilet 3ft from your bed and spend 22 hours of the day in that room with you. But even this mental exercise couldn't impress upon you how shitty it is, because at any moment you could just leave. Actually being locked in that room is absolutely mental agony.

You know it's hard not to want to believe that she got assaulted, but after she made a claim at the gas station called "H Mart" where she showed up after the murder covered in blood claiming she was raped and thats why there is blood, it makes it hard to believe her now. People should look up her interview that they did with detectives before they arrested. Psych hospitals like that are worse than jail. Jail you can be out in the common area 2-3 hours a day. If you work, you’re out all day. You get your own tablet from 8am-10pm. You get free phone calls now. At least in a psych hospital they’re more strict with behaviors. I’ve worked in both & I’ve seen murders relax & watch movies all day. Jail is not what you think

Just saw the Explore With Us video and I think she does have Schizophrenia. Usually people faking insanity would’ve easily broke down with the interrogation that she had. She did not once show any kind of remorse during her interrogation compared to her in this video. Even if the smartest people that lie to that extent would’ve have paused a lot of times when their alibis aren’t matching up. For her she just believe in every word she said was true even if it didn’t make sense for other people. If she was genuinely not insane when she did the act, she would’ve killed her Step-Father as well to remove witnesses. @@BlackangelKatakuriThat’s not what NGRI means. It doesn’t mean the same thing as “guilty” (I did it) vs. “not guilty” (I didn’t do it). NGRI means “I did it, but I’m not criminally responsible because of the specific circumstances with a severe mental illness”. It’s incredibly difficult to prove insanity, no one can successfully fake it (that’s a myth), and very few people are released. Some do end up getting released, though, and they tend to do very well. Recidivism rates are very low, statistically.

When people hallucinate, hear voices, have delusions sometimes it’s so bad to the point where they really can’t tell the difference between reality and what’s fake I’m schizophrenic and I have this all the time but not All schizophrenic people are violent most of the time they ain’t but there is a few out there who’s delusions, voices, hallucinations really need to be taken care of and on the proper medication to help with those delusions voices or hallucinations because they can be very real for someone with schizo depending on how sever and what type sometimes it’s so real it feels like it is there reality.

Her medical chart should indicate what progress if any she has made (if any). If she has Antisocial Personality Disorder or NPD it’s all an elaborate lie. I don’t think release should even be considered until after her brain is fully developed and the courts have access to her daily progress notes.. My gut instincts tells me she is a sociopath or has Antisocial Personality Disorder. Which if true lacks empathy or shame. And hearing things isn’t always voices I hear sometimes chains rattling from what seems like outside and a baby crying in the distance or knocking sounds all over my house. And constant ringing sounds. Sometimes extreme confusion and loss of perception of the passage of time. This altered perception makes you stop trusting anything even the people you know and your family you can become fearful of them. If I turn my back on a drink I think someone has poisoned it even if I don’t see anyone else around. You just don’t understand it’s hard for a healthy brain to relate to an unhealthy one. But once you get there yourself it’s like oh ok I understand how terrible this feeling is. And you’re basically alone in your experience until you die. Mental healthcare doesn’t exist in us either. No one screens people for illness until they commit a crime. I don’t see doctors because im convinced they don’t want to help me. It’s also very hard to put psychosis or delusions or altered perceptions into words for others to understand. Your GP will suggest it’s possibly psychosomatic, your neurologist will do dumb physical tests then shrug their shoulders, your cardiologist will say you’re too young for health issues even though I can hear my pulse/my blood sloshing next to my ears she says I’m too young to have narrowed arteries and tells me come back in a year, psychologist says go to a psychiatrist, psychiatrist yawns and hands you the same tier of medicine they give to depressed housewives. No one cares about your mental health until you attack someone else. It’s no proactive and so they let this Guzman girl down it’s society failing it’s people not people failing in society.

I'm guessing you've never been to jail..because "only 9 years" is a lonnng fucking time to be in a cage. I spent a week in jail after a fist fight with my dad as a teenager and that was the longest week of my 30 something years of life. I'm not super familiar with this case but I see similar comments to yours fairly often from people who probably have no gauge of what time behind bars is actually like and just see a number as some abstract representation of the severity of a punishment and so of course that number never seems sufficient.
I encourage people to just try, for one day , go a single day, sitting in your room, with nothing, no screens, no books, nothing but a thin mat to lay on, no comfort snacks, have some stale bread and the shittiest piece of microwaved gray meat you can find, nothing else. Now ad some other person you probably don't like, who is probably hostile toward you, who gets to shit in that room with you and share a toilet 3ft from your bed and spend 22 hours of the day in that room with you. But even this mental exercise couldn't impress upon you how shitty it is, because at any moment you could just leave. Actually being locked in that room is absolutely mental agony.

Just saw the Explore With Us video and I think she does have Schizophrenia. Usually people faking insanity would’ve easily broke down with the interrogation that she had. She did not once show any kind of remorse during her interrogation compared to her in this video. Even if the smartest people that lie to that extent would’ve have paused a lot of times when their alibis aren’t matching up. For her she just believe in every word she said was true even if it didn’t make sense for other people.
If she was genuinely not insane when she did the act, she would’ve killed her Step-Father as well to remove witnesses. The fact that cops visited her before the act but still went with it further cements she was only there to kill her mother or should we say “Cecilia” and no one else.
I tend to agree..but she’s calling the murder a “fight” & showing small wounds. It would be good if we could see her entire video, to see if she truly takes responsibility, despite her mental state at the time.

She reminds me of Diane Downs, who killed her own children in the 80s and them made up some random story about someone else doing it, and she still sticks by her story to this day. And she was exactly as self absorbed as this girl. Talking only about her injuries to the media just months after her kids were killed/shot I remember she literally said after being asked if she felt lucky she survived. Her response?...I dont feel lucky "my arm hurt for months!"...The problem here is that we live in a time when weve had years and years of police/forensic shows and this girl knew how to play the system. NGRI means “I did it, but I’m not criminally responsible because of the specific circumstances with a severe mental illness”. It’s incredibly difficult to prove insanity, no one can successfully fake it (that’s a myth), and very few people are released. Some do end up getting released, though, and they tend to do very well. Recidivism rates are very low, statistically.

When people hallucinate, hear voices, have delusions sometimes it’s so bad to the point where they really can’t tell the difference between reality and what’s fake I’m schizophrenic and I have this all the time but not All schizophrenic people are violent most of the time they ain’t but there is a few out there who’s delusions, voices, hallucinations really need to be taken care of and on the proper medication to help with those delusions voices or hallucinations because they can be very real for someone with schizo depending on how sever and what type sometimes it’s so real it feels like it is there reality.
It’s almost kinda like Morgan gyzer from the slender man killing she was schizo too you can tell there similarities and almost how real the delusions are because even till the end she still believed her delusions even after being faced with rock hard evidence that you CAN NOT run from or lie and get out of.

Her medical chart should indicate what progress if any she has made (if any). If she has Antisocial Personality Disorder or NPD it’s all an elaborate lie. I don’t think release should even be considered until after her brain is fully developed and the courts have access to her daily progress notes..
My gut instincts tells me she is a sociopath or has Antisocial Personality Disorder. Which if true lacks empathy or shame. They can can follow the rules and manipulate the system for a period of time but they still lack empathy and likely to never change

I am just wondering why CBS talked to her without a specialist that would analyze her physical responses and just decided to give the public her confession without any analysis of it. She raises her eyebrows as an emphasis of her parents being Jehovah witnesses, what does that mean for her? Is being religious a negative thing or how were they hurting her in the name of religion? She reminds me so much of my ex (East Asian)… highly narcissistic as well… she just believes she can pull people strings without contemplating that they may be able to see through her… it’s a delusional bubble of superiority and yet at the same time a continuous feedback loop of self-rationalizing that appears very logical… that combination can… well… create many uncomfortable realities to be around sometimes… my ex as far as I know never killed anyone.. she did find a dead body in the woods once however… I never really questioned her about that. She had delusions as well and a genuinely super sensitive empathic side that I don’t see in this woman… however the narcissistic defensive mechanisms have many similarities… not as much low affect as this woman demonstrates..
