- So this is Gold Pilot, the song I wrote for the Homestuck album Colours and Mayhem. This song has become the theme of the Psiioniic (and it works freakishly well as such) but I wrote it originally in honor of Bec (to the dismay of some).
The song recently made it into the actual comic as the music for the Act 6 Act 6 Intermission 1 animation. (totally took me by surprise!)

Originally the piece was called "The Green Odyssey". A fairly self explanatory title in light of it being about Bec, methinks.

Well, this was used in a Jade flash, so, in a sense, it fulfilled its original intent of being a Bec song.

idk why, but im feeling something weird, i was just seeing some of the more emotional flashes in Karkat Goes To A Convention (no spoilers here tho), checking if Cole had updated it, and i remembered a song from Homestuck, and i wanted to find it.
and ended up seeing Gold Pilot again, its been a long while since i listened to it
i read homestuck in 2020, (srry new reader stuff lolol.) and sure sometimes i felt the retroactive FOMO of not having been there when it was being written, but i overcame that.
Homestuck's cool, i like it, thats kinda most of what i have to say rn, this isnt that much about homestuck. as after after 10 seconds into Gold Pilot, staring at the coloUrs and mayhem Universe A cover, i started feeling this weird feeling, its not catharsis, similar but not quite it; its not really sad, its not happy either; the best way i can describe is that its a very "human" feeling.
having trouble identifying it.
i guess just, the relationship between humans and art and fiction is just really strange

So it ended up being used in the comic in a context that was reminiscent of its original influences as well as The Helmsman. That's pretty nifty.

My favorite song from Colours and Mayhem Universe A. One of the best by far. Shame that it wasn't fully animated in the update. But then again, the fact that Hussie used your song to an [S] update probably was one of the coolest moments ever. Still wish it was fully animated though.

He still puts out music on occasion - he's on Soundcloud (also as First Turn Fold). Not Homestuck stuff, but also good; I recommend Trick-Ride, Eighteen Thirty Hours, and Up And To The Right.

This is one of the most beautiful tracks ever in Homestuck, how you've worked with the rhythm, the combination of the stings and the xylophone (?) reflect so well the duality within The Psiioniic, but Bec Noir as well, it's, in my opinion, a masterpiece.
So I listen to it non-stop every time I read Homestuck :3

Happy 10 years! This has been my favorite song for a while now, I always find myself coming back to it.
You are one of the most criminally under appreciated artists I have ever seen in my entire life. Birds of Wellhammer, Just Hit B and Wake Up are so incredibly unique and finely crafted that it brings a manly tear to my eye.

I'm just gonna leave this here as a thanks to the composer, this has been one of my favourite songs of all time and I've been listening to it since Colours and Mayhem first came out, so thanks for making such an awesome track.
I listened over 100 songs of Homestuck but this song is still my favorite.
Listeened to all Homestuck, Hiveswap and all LoFaMs(I can't say I've listened to all the fan music that exists but that's a substantial amount) and this still remains my favorite song. The beats, the use of the repeater on everything, the choice of instruments and the overal melody somehow makes the song feel motivating, sad, hopeful, dramtatic, yet lighthearted and that's just amazing. Something is just fantastic about it.
10/10 would listen on repeat for hours

I know the bottom corners are supposed to be his collar and stuff, but I can't help but also see them as hands. The angry half is all 'Y U NO LIVE, SIGNLESS' and the sad half is all 'tfw no gf'.

Absolutely perfect. It's so ironic that it suits The Psiioniic perfectly even tough you made it for Beckerel. I thought I loved "Purple Bard" the most, but this is seriously my favorite one, plus, I think I like The Psiioniic a bit more than before lol.

I like Purple Tyrant quite a bit, but that’s mostly because I have it associated with something else I like. Gold Pilot is definitely my favorite on pure quality.

Dude, your music is simply amazing..... The way you use and mix each sound and make them complement each other creating even more sounds is amazing!! All that while keeping their own distinct place in the music, each one of the sounds that bring the song together seem so perfect and carefully fitted in it, none of them seem more important than the others, each have their own space to be heard and they never seem repetitive since their always shifting and combining in incredible ways. It doesn't end there your song just keep on adding, changing and inovating in so many ways and the transitions are done in such a smooth way that its mesmerizing too hear.
Most music are made of only a handful of sounds, they end up overusing some of them while keeping others on the shadows of the song. They think that just having a good "drop" (which, in my humble opnion,is just a really bad transition) or repeated catchy beats will make it good, but it just makes it less interesting and easily predictable...
Your songs are so unpredictable that i just don't know what to thing of whats coming next, i simply want keep on listening to it, and i guess thats the problem of your song... when it ends :C

Just bought this disc, and was trying to figure out where I'd heard this before, finally realized I couldn't place it because it was in the animation that ended early. Here's hoping that the animation is played out in full at some point after the gigapause.

I know the the song was originally for Bec. But it just made me love The Psiioniic way more than anyone should. Genuinely one of the most tragic characters in the comics and the fact he was still alive until hivebent while everyone he cared about is dead and long gone. Just oof wish we had more nepeta interactions with rest of the descendants from Signless’ group. Glad we got some Sollux Kanaya and Karkat interactions at least

+arctic Wolf Lover late, but the most popular music app is probably fl studio? you can find the pirated version somewhere i don't know
otherwise, i'd recommend garage band and importing some samples into there, it's hard but you'll find basic instruments and short songs already there.

My friend sent me the link to this because I asked for inspirational music to help me with my drawing. Holy crap this is amazing. Was it hard to make and put together? Did it take long? It's amazing, and I have a feeling I'm going to listen to it a lot from this point forward.

I feel really bad, because I used to kind of tune out during this song when I listened to coloUrs and mayhem Universe A, but when it actually played in the flash, I finally listened to it all the way through. It's a great song that I ended up having fun writing a story around (Not a homestuck one though)
As for the "Missing Four Minutes," I'd love to see how they fit, as the song can at times be... maybe not "Happy" but peaceful, and considering the few glitch panels we got, it wouldn't fit.
Why does the Helmsman have the coolest theme in the series? why?? he only shows up for two pages!
