The reason it's hard to specify each splinter in the pic from another is that Dirks' worst fear is that he is Just Like his splinters. He's constantly blaming his faults on his splinters and denies his connection to them because he's Scared of Becoming Like Them. He doesn't want to be like Hal, because (according to Dirk) Hal is manipulative. He doesn't want to be like Bro, because Bro is abusive and controlling. He doesn't want to be like Brain Ghost Dirk, because BGD is *Jake's idea of Dirk, not Dirk* He doesn't want to be his Dream Self, because his dream self is assertive and overpowering. He doesn't want to be like Brobot, because Dirk cares *very deeply* about Jake's opinion of him. The moral of the story is that Dirk doesn't want to be conventionally Evil, because he cares *Too Much* about his friends and their opinions of them. And you wanna know the worst part? If you take all of these bad traits from Dirk's splinters and combine them, you get: Ultimate Dirk, from the Meat Epilogues.

this song is really one of the best if you ask me it fits very well with dirk too the way they build up and up more I think adds to what id imagine his mind would feel like always going and getting more and thinking and never really getting a break and then there are points where it slows down and you think that its taking its final dip to drop off but then it slowly starts taking up again it doesn't stop until the very end where its still fast-pace and the ending note makes you feel like there has to be more and that's what happens with dirk you think that its over for him that its done and all the shit is slowing down and then you realize so many things are going on and that hes trying to fix things and take care of many others as he makes his way through the execution of another (the building up) he is constantly going and moving and before the gigapause (and right after, game over and its close follow-ups) he is zapped when still trying to help hes zapped off to the furthest ring and he takes no time to figure out whats going on (going faster) he just knows he has to get back and that's what he goes for he zooms back as fast as he possibly can as he tries to figure out whats going on and what he has to do (and faster) and when he finally gets there, plan to set in motion everyone is dead (that's the dip) all his thinking is ruined all the time and ideas thought up are thrown out the window and he still goes out to do things he knows he has to keep doing things but he has no clue what and all he has to look at is all this damage he believes he could have prevented (build up) hes thinking and thinking and its doomed that's a doomed timeline he doesn't know but he at that point is doomed and thinking and that's the note that is at the end the note that you think could definitely be a dip just a break in the craziness that's only for a short amount of time but it isn't that is the end that's the end of it. no more thinking that can save it not for him at least we don't know what is going to happen and we are kicked to a blind end a curb that has no hints or clues that has brick walls all around the ending point is there and that's the end of it all for dirk and that hits me really deep and makes me think a lot more than I should (ps im so sorry this is long and that its probably just stupid and wrong. but that's just what I think, haha!)

The epilogues Dirk definitely connects to Timaeus as it is the only dialogue in which Socrates barely says anything and his conversation partner just goes to town over an explanation that Socrates doesn’t contradict. It also concerns how the designer of the universe is necessary to explain it and there how humans share in his intellect and ability to understand the forms after which everything is designed and thus are as smaller brothers to it (a little bit like lil Hal)

Dirk's ability to make splinter-selves makes me wonder what his powers would be like as a fully realized Prince of Heart. With each (un?)intentional splinter representing a different aspect of himself normally, if he ascends, does he end up turning into some kind of human hologram with each "splinter" representing a whole self on its own so he's "the real Dirk" everywhere, all the time?
