This song is a really good reminder that the animations in homestuck are most affected by the song. The pacing, important points, highs and lows, are all already set in stone. Hussie is essentially just doing a songstuck without lyrics, and i dont think he's ever commissioned a song for an animation.
actually, he has. cascade was put together with an animation already in mind and as a result the songs were adjusted to suit it, and he even asked toby to do a remix of black rose/green sun just to make the final scene
It's interesting because the early comic reflects this in terms of user commands. By the time that Homestuck rolled around, the site was generating enough user input that Hussie could pick and choose from the user-generated commands that he could basically drive the story any way he wanted with them. There is so much Homestuck music that Hussie had a pre-supplied library ready to match whatever story beats he had in mind. Leitmotifs narrow this down somewhat, but still: if he needed something about John (like the A6A6I4 LOWAS-cleansing flash), then there're tonssss of remixes he could use.

Yeah, me too kinda. I started some months ago and finished it in time for the ending, but I only know it because of Undertale, so I missed it in its "glory days".
Same--I actually started it around a year ago, thought the beginning was boring, and stopped. Thankfully, my brother joined a voiceacting group for Hetalia and Homestuck and I got back into it around when Undertale was coming out. Sucks though. Everyone outside of the fandom seems to have a negative outlook on it.
Fandom was mostly cancer, you're lucky to have missed it. Best thing you're missing is getting to speculate aimlessly for ~8 months while waiting for an update during insane hiatuses.

Felt it was a steady descent starting with [s] cascade to get to that point too. But I suspect that was Hussie's intention all along, since the tone of that part of the story is markedly different from the rest, and the retcon is basically "jk, that's a 'what would happen if i killed off vriska like all these whiney shits keep telling me to' scenario." It is a pretty bad deus ex machina though. But nah, getting involved with fandoms in general isn't great and homestuck's is usually pretty cringey even now.

Well, the idea behind the hemospectrum is that the lower you are, the shorter you live, but you also get cool psychic powers. Edit: As soon as I posted this I remembered that Vriska existed so uh... lucky br8k for the blue bloods?
@@ninja3212 Yeah, Vriska is something of an anomaly. Normally the lowbloods are Psychically gifted while highbloods are Physically powerful. The Serket line having their weird empathy-telepathy-mind control powers is just the exception that proves the rule, I guess.
Remind me again how the highbloods held authority for so long? Like, what's durability gonna do against a bunch of psionic goldbloods that can fly, shoot laser beams, etc? Let's not forget a random goldblood took down a drone singlehandedly, and Pesterquest!Sollux brought an entire shopping mall down on a seadweller and wasn't even really intent on killing him. About the only thing I image could keep psychic lowbloods in check is Her Imperial Condescension herself, who doesn't exactly have immediate access to Alternia.

Even the highbloods themselves would eventually die, so I don't think the threat of Gl'bgolyb was used to hold authority (especially given Feferi's stance against culling).
I love Homestuck music I usually play it while I do school work. When I do school work I don't like music with lyrics but I don't want classical music. I think this is a good middle ground

I cleared the oil and found Typheus, Dave lit the forge and found Hephaestus, and Jade created the new universe and found Echidna.
