I'm in LOVE with #3! Beautifully expressed! I used to be in sales. My bosses hated that I wasn't the aggressive, pushy salesperson. What I did instead was assisted them, waited on them, provided customer service, recommendations after hearing what they want, answering their questions, I waited for them to practically beg me to try to sell them something, and I out-sold all the pushy, aggressive salespeople. We weren't selling to idiots, we were selling to people who mostly knew what they wanted. They didn't want a pushy salesperson telling them they wanted to buy whatever we were getting the most commission that week. They wanted someone to hear what they wanted and point in them in the direction to what sits their needs.
Totally agree! Pushy sales is like the car salemen (they always get the bad rep). One time deal. Educated sales gets repeated sales, if not then good referrals. It takes time to build credibility, but that's in everything that is life. Kudos to you!
I guess my dad saw this video beforehand because he told me the same: Whenever your goal is too big, too scary, too unrealistic, that means your vision is the right fit. Thank you, Evan!
13:07 Me too I am crying! this fisherman story just give me a reason to spread love around me. It's absolutely better to give! your right Simon Sinek 1-Pursue your vision 2-Measure momentum 3-Be a giver 4-Learn from creative people 5-Know your destination 6-Be open to the unknown 7-Have a balance 8-Turn followers into leaders 9-Set unrealistic goals 10-Take action
"If you can only give once, think of me next time." - Amazing. I love how he explains that we "buy" feeling good when we give to the homeless and they sell it.
you know, I love watching your videos. I have only just started watching them, because I am in search for changing my life for a better future, a future where I am free. I used to be so commited to what i believed, and along the way I lost that, my life became really boring. bored at work, bored at home in my free time, I had never had this feeling, and I hated it. Took me too long to realise where my life was going, but I have learned. I really like to "know your destination" and to "set unrealistic goals." I would set unrealistic goals, so it pushed me towards my destination.
My destination is a life long change to be completely free and no longer bound by employment. I actually don’t have a finishing destination. Because once by biggest goal is complete. I will make another one. But at the moment it is to become wealthy and financially independent with a passive income one day at a time. The end goal. Is so I can then start doing the things I want to do. Which is make films. But I won’t start there. Starting with affiliate Marketting. I have a set goal to make my first dollar in 6 weeks, even if I am in minus figures when I make that dollar. I have 5 weeks left. I am still learning everything I can. And my first fb ad campaign Of £20 I lost. So I am researching copywriting then doing it again. Trying to build a list. So then I get repeat custom.
I think RUclips knows me better than anyone these days! Suggested this morning.. Had resolved not to use social in the morning... But Simon Sinek is single and showing vulnerability.. :( It’s A MUST watch! Even the most upbeat and optimist people hit a rough patch.. Let’s be patient with ourselves, our emotions, and others... Hang in there Simon! ❤️
Evan, thanks again for taking time to compile and share top 10 videos! Rule #7 Have Balance made me self aware of my cell phone addiction and I am going to start shutting my phone off when I am spending quality time with my wife and daughter
I’m so impressed by Evan business 🥰 👏🙌 1. Your Marketing 2. Your organized 3. Your upselling 4. Your professional 5. Your value products Proof that the long game relay works for business. 🙌🙌
I was very much inspired by all he says about finding balance with dopamine. I am addicted to my phone, for sure. I try to use it as wisely as I can : all push notifications turned off, rings off, unfollow anyone who bothers me in any way, try to heal through sharing, inspire through healing... but still, I look at it first thing in the morning & scroll waaaaaay more than I probably should. And it was a great wake up call. Thank you Evan.
While i love all that was said and use them daily, that one that rang with me today was "know you destination" building a business is no easy task but having a clear vision of what that will be the destination is GOLD !!!
"Instead of arguing with somebody for them to make a right choice, " just simply tell them what you think, what you know better for them. And leave it to them about what to do with the tasks. It's theirs! "If you don't want to do it, that's fine. It's your business. Do what you want."
The last minute of the bonus material -- perfect "I'm just one piece of a large jigsaw puzzle>" I love it (he breathes into the vision of a humanity that is full of purpose and collective well-being at the center).
Vision: Have a crystal clear, detail image of how the finish line looks like, with out knowing, or caring how far it actually is or how long it takes you to get there!. Brilliant!!!
Be a giver. That's my inspiration on which I'm gonna implement my whole self to. Doesn't mean that I didn't learnt anything from the rest of the insights shared by Simon Sinek. Loved it all❤️❤️❤️❤️
1. Persue your vision. 2.Measure your momentum. 3. Be a giver 4. Learn from creative people 5. Know your destination 6. Be open to the unknown. 7. Have balance 8. Turn followers into leaders 9. Set unrealistic goals 10. Take action
My favorite was #8, Turn Followers Into Leaders. This resonates with me because I strongly believe everyone has the ability to be a leader if we'll only let them lead. And your title or position don't matter. What matters is the example and difference you are making.
The part i love most is ''know your destination'', the problem with we youth of this day is that, we don't know where we are heading. thanks a lot for this speech.
I must confess that I have a one sided bromance with Simon Sinek. His books are terrific and on point. While watching this particular compilation of his talks, I am motivated to comment on several of his points. How about if I combine two of them? An error that many companies make when they have achieved momentum is to sabotage their own success. Once "Big Mo" has started, too many companies spend their entire focus on selling as much product as they can. Certainly understandable because that is what you are in business to do. Momentum is a two-way street. It can go both downhill and uphill. How do you keep the train accelerating? Leadership development. Remember, everyone's favorite radio station is WII-FM. What's In IT For Me. When the organization is on a roll, that is the perfect time to CRAM as much information into the heads of your leaders as possible. Leadership determines the altitude and the attitude of the workforce. When you have just successfully accomplished an objective, there is never a time when you are more anxious to add to your success. Progress is the elixir! This is true for the individual and the team. When you feel as though you are learning and gaining valuable experience, you are all in. You wake up motivated and excited about what the day will bring. It's a win-win for everybody. After all, if your organization is to grow, you must have capable leaders. When things are going well you want to extend the teaching/leadership aspect to as much of your organization as possible. EVERYONE WANTS TO SEE PROGRESS IN THEIR FUTURE. Here's how to do it: In business and coaching, you as the leader, are constantly teaching and training. What’s the difference? You go to school and receive a high school education. In the business world you receive both an education and training. Ask your high school sophomore if he wants sex education or sex training. See the difference? There is a simple way to train people to perform. It’s called the PESOS system. Mexican money. Here’s how it works. It is, of course, an acronym. P-repare E-xplain S-how O-bserve S-upervise The first thing that you do is to PREPARE your pupil for the task. What is it EXACTLY that you want me to do? Finally, you SUPERVISE. What does that mean? It means that you track the results. If the results are not satisfactory then you return to the OBSERVE step and make the appropriate correction. If you are receiving good results than you move on to the next task and collect your PESOS. In this way, the student will also become the teacher/trainer. You are building your organization and developing your leaders. An organization will only advance to the level of its leadership. This is a key point. This is a key point! I said that twice on purpose. Your organization will advance concurrently as the leaders in your organization develop. That gives you two areas to focus upon. First, you NEVER stop developing leaders. If your product explodes in the marketplace you cannot expand unless you have the leadership to supervise expansion. Developing leaders is essential. Second, you must constantly develop yourself and realize that personal growth is a never-ending operation. As the world becomes more complex and information and knowledge double every 3 years or so, it is more essential than ever for you to CONTINUE to grow as a leader and a person. Just as the train needs to be continually fueled to pick up and maintain its speed, BIG MO must continually be fed INSPIRATION.
I can't narrow it down to my favorite pearl from this talk, I am so impressed with each one I am going to have to re-watch (and have shared it with many of my friends)
For me it's: take action. No amount of talking, thinking, theorising, convincing or pleading will achieve more than the the simple fact of taking action. Taking action starts to move things. It is in the doing of the thing that the change is achieved and nowhere else.
"Some people see the thing that they want and some people see the thing preventing them from getting the thing that they want." I'm one of those who sees all the things preventing me from getting me what I want. I've chalked it up to the thought that I don't REALLY want it, but maybe I'm looking at it the wrong way.

Simon Sinek is someone who I don't fully agree with on some of his other points of views. But this video is great video, I appreciate how passionate Simon is about his points of views. It's definitly a guy who I would love to interview one day for the channel.
His main thing is set the goal, but the most useful one for me is to set high goals, and be disappointed when you come up a little bit short, but be satisfied that you got further. Mainly because

The first thing that you do is to PREPARE your pupil for the task. What is it EXACTLY that you want me to do? What is the why and because that makes the task important? Where does it fit in to the “big picture”? Etc.
The second step is to EXPLAIN how the task is to be performed.
Step three is to SHOW your student how to perform the task by performing it yourself.
Number 4: You OBSERVE the mentee performing the task. You do this for as long as it takes for the student to get the job done right. You critique, analyze, and continuously correct until you are happy with the quality of performance.
Finally, you SUPERVISE. What does that mean? It means that you track the results. If the results are not satisfactory then you return to the OBSERVE step and make the appropriate correction.
