A level 1 or 5 DOT inspection usually reveals emissions tampering, Out of service tag immediately. Replacement pre-emission engines becoming scarce. & their history undocumented, unreliable. Will rebuild kits be available indefinitely❓ @ what cost❓ The government is systematically tuning the screws to prevent glider continuation. I prefer the first 500K miles under my rear end, let others worry 'bout the second 500k.

Have you also done a cost comparison of a new purchase versus doing a full rebuild of an older truck? Know in my area a fee guys are going to rebuilding older iron versus going new cause the new was to costly
I think, if the gov't actually wanted to help, they should force the manufacture to warranty the emissions for the life of the truck, or at least 2 million miles.
Gliders are expensive. I wonder what the future market will be for rebuilt older trucks. Will it be cost effective? Over the last few years I’ve watched EZRIDER 359 rebuild his truck and put it back in revenue service. Maybe something that old is not financially worthwhile, but it worked for him. What do you think?
Have you ever thought about sending old trucks out to be refurbished? I work in the fire service and many departments will send older trucks out and when they come back they are essentially getting back a new old truck at a fraction of the cost of a brand new one.
You think you have trouble with emissions. We are in northern Canada and 1500 miles from a dealership. What do we have to do when we have emissions trouble, haul it to the dealer, drive it at 10 MPH to the service center, or freeze to death on a ice road? Equipment will break down, but 75% of the newer trucks it seem to be emissions. This insanity has to stop and common sense prevail
Definitely stay the hell away from the emission engines. I ran a 13 volvo that once it hit 540000 it started throwing engine codes and derating every 10 days it ran. Like clockwork. Dealer cant find the problem, parked it and hopped back in my 09 t800 with a c13 kitty. Its got emissions and 680000 but it runs like hell. Just have to replace the cat ard head about every year, bout 2grand at the cat dealer, but other than that she screams.
Love gliders to but I don’t think there able to do it anymore I know someone that has 12 x15 performance trucks years 19 20 only thing is he forced region every 5 to 8k miles but he don’t keep them more then 600k is when the big problems start sucks cat don’t get back into on highway truck motors
Your very fortunate having a government so relaxed about emissions. In the UK if an operator is caught with a truck deleted it's a fine, if your caught with your fleet deleted you get your operators licence (DOT authority) revoked permanently and the directors can expect to be banned for life of being a director of another trucking company.
Your decision not to run trucks deleted I believe is a very good one because I also believe it is against federal law to tamper with emissions equipment on any vehicle whether it's trucks or cars.
Fine for winter stationary Ag equipment, On constant corrosion spray winter road trucks, not so much. Krone a better choice, min 2 applications per season.

I live and drive in So Cal. Every now and then the emission police set up shop in the scales. It’s a expensive fine if they see you deleted the truck.
Every thing So Cal does, NYS follows you guys !!!Cat answered his questions in 2011 They no longer make over the road motors!!! AT SAYS IT ALL!!!!!!!!!!
Regin maintenence can get very expensive. I love my 99 w900l with a 550 3406e
Good info Justin the N14 Cummins is a good motor Cummins needs to start over on the isx.
They did its called the x15 and its just a big a pos as the isx
I'm in Europe and n14 is the way to go good engine I rebuit one for my own personal truck rebuild kits are cheap
Gliders are only going to get more and more expensive due to companies not making them anymore peterbilt made their last glider already. And the n14 is a great motor I've seen one dyno 95% of its original power at 1.7 million without an overhaul
That N14 is a good engine I ran a N14 for 14 years to of them do an oil pump and rod and mains at about 350 k your good I put 1.2 million in my W900L before touching it and my 379 Pete 890k put duo fuel filters in it and ride my emissions truck was junk
A level 1 or 5 DOT inspection usually reveals emissions tampering, Out of service tag immediately.
Replacement pre-emission engines becoming scarce. & their history undocumented, unreliable. Will rebuild kits be available indefinitely❓ @ what cost❓
The government is systematically tuning the screws to prevent glider continuation.
I prefer the first 500K miles under my rear end, let others worry 'bout the second 500k.
What's the price of leasing new truck for 2 yrs have a warranty and depreciation compare to older equipment? Our road trucks at pepsi are 2016 volvos with volvo motors. They are ranging from 750k to 850k Milage. No problems with emissions except wiring harness that's because of factory routing and Def injectors.
3000-3500 per month .......
Talking about mileage A new a lady who had a 85 model Mack superliner With 1.5 million miles on Other than PM ing the only thing she ever did was run the overhead i thought that was just amazing
What state u all in
Agreed,You made a great buy, keep up with the engine oil samples and it'll be great!
Every day. I run my 1987 Pet ext hood. Since 1987. It’s has flat top I replace. In 2009. When I did a complete rebuild. With a donor 1998 why I don’t buy new. I drive by tons of broke rigs with that emissions crap, Miles total 3 mil. On rebuild I put 300 k. I get dot smoke test 2x a month. 72 hr last few days. Got stop once. Good videos
Wow be safe !! thankyou !!
Beautiful trucks!!! Have you tried rino lining on them, or something like that to keep the rust down??
That makes it worse …..
I agree Glider are better. But electric truck in my state of Ohio. I'm scared of the salt during the winter months and spring.
500 hundred thousand miles on my scania. Never any emissions issues on my wagon . Or hardly any rust issues either . Nearly 8 years old .
Interesting
Should be alot in California, heard they just went all emissions trucks only
We just bought a 2014 389 heavy spec glider with a 3406e for 100k. Not one regret. It's the truck on my profile pic btw.
People say "PACCAR engines sucks" and "CUMMINS good", but I've been looking and seen quite a few T680s with approx 400K miles with a REBUILT Cummins. Why is the Cummins rebuilt at that low of mileage? I like the T680 platform, but I'm looking for a pre-emissions W900 now (with a Cat).
Question what do you use as your commercial truck maintenance program software?
Samsara Maintenance
@@flintcreektransport Thank You I was looking at that one and I think it is a Great service I am glad to know I am on the right track Thanks for answering me
Premium 2000 warranty paid off for me and my 14 T660 with a Paccar. 500,000 I put a head etc on it. It’s been stellar since. 18 months. Luck so far I’m guessing. Lots of salt in Ontario. 🤞🏼
Good to hear
Nice buy Justin, your killing it building that fleet of yours... the truck looks clean. Stay safe out there brother🚛
Thankyou
Have you also done a cost comparison of a new purchase versus doing a full rebuild of an older truck? Know in my area a fee guys are going to rebuilding older iron versus going new cause the new was to costly
I’m working on it 😉
I think, if the gov't actually wanted to help, they should force the manufacture to warranty the emissions for the life of the truck, or at least 2 million miles.
That would be great !!!
There will def be a market for them. Price of used is already high !!!
Have you ever thought about sending old trucks out to be refurbished? I work in the fire service and many departments will send older trucks out and when they come back they are essentially getting back a new old truck at a fraction of the cost of a brand new one.
We do that some already. Mainly frames and new paint etc
Wow !!!! That’s crazy !!
Good luck on the common sense part. We are talking about government here!
change the 10 speed for a 18 at least.. better for hills and just general shifting. i hate using 10 speed for anything otr.
Justin why not look into rhino shied for the frame then clear coat it . Maybe it will protect the frame a little longer.
Its hard to get the moisture out completely before you apply and if its done with moisture trapped in it rusts faster
WOW
Your decision not to run trucks deleted I believe is a very good one because I also believe it is against federal law to tamper with emissions equipment on any vehicle whether it's trucks or cars.
Have you tried the "Fluid Film" I mentioned before? Perfect truck to see how it prevents rust!
Fine for winter stationary Ag equipment, On constant corrosion spray winter road trucks, not so much. Krone a better choice, min 2 applications per season.
Woolwax works good to.
No..... we have not ... These trucks go down the road at 70 mph and the salt chips constantly hitting it will remove any film..... just my 2 cents
@@flintcreektransport Most of the undercarriage isn't going to get direct hits from debris. You don't know what you are missing until you try it on one truck. I don't have a cent in it one way or another. But I can tell you it isn't as easy to get off as you are thinking!
@@werkspartsllc7856 If so confident, buy the product & send it to them.
Good to see you again jystin hope you are doing great buddy it is a pretty truck good luck
You will never regret this truck
You really should look for trucks in California, pre emissions trucks are extremely cheap in California since they can not be ran here anymore.
I heard what you said about not wanting emission engines, but what is your opinion on the X15 series ?
Any Motor attached to emission systems will not have a long life.....We have 3..... I dont like them !!
N14 inframe is cheap. Hell of alot cheaper than def and def filters .better fuel mileage.
Not bad if u take good care of them they will blessed u in work u got a good deal
I am interested on comparing Keworth and Peterbilt costs. I believe The name Peterbilt will cost more even thru Both are madeby Paccar
thanks also for the bubblegum music at the end… Made me feel like
... truck
😜
Just about broke me.
Bought my truck at 495k not a good experience.
the answer is "you get what you pay for". Hopefully that solves the problem. :)
Sold my 386 Pete with a paccar mx13 deleted no problem to a dealer. Was great after I deleted it.
I would watch talking about deleting emission motors , they already are cracking down on them
Sounds like very good logic to me.
Billy Bob looks very familiar to me...... ?
Good choice on Glider. Informative video. Thanks
Stay Safe
Always good content Man!!!! Did you put the N14 at work or not yet?!
At the paint shop
@@flintcreektransport yeah that's what I've s'en in your video with the tank removed! I can't wait to heard this beast work!!
National truck protection aftermarket warranty. Already paid for itself for me...
Yes,way too expensive,unless it was canadian dollars,for that 6 year old Rig...🤣🤣
