what did he mean. why did he have to die.?
But Iggy emphasis on Money, Music industry and has to die. Thats the words chain.
@@aarondavid5866I won't spell it out for you here. But Kurt was leaving the band, going make different music, and divorce. With no "Nirvana" the drummer was already planning music ripped from Kurt's newer style, then he changed to mass rock. A prenup in place, she would get little if none but she had his "pound of flesh" for security. And D.Gef wouldn't have the enormous amount of money coming out of Nirvana. The out come was keep him addicted and the plan was set. All the "theatrics" in the days leading up to Kurt's demise were just a well planned out "act".
Got a lotta nerve asking for 👍s being this is an AI channel.
@@Gigi1111Layna Yeah, something like that.
Notice Iggy doesn’t mention Courtney when talking about Kurt and why he « had to die ». Dave Grohl never mentions her in his autobiography either. When she dies it’s all gonna come out, believe me.
lol
For sure she is darkness personified. Cobaine should have run fast in any direction away from her...but like a moth to a flame, he went toward her. It was that self destructive side of him that also created his best art. Anyhow, Im rambling, but point is she had the ear of several murder junky kind of dudes who she had enough money, dope and other luxuries to appeal to.
It was probably Dave, speculation, Foo Fighters sold far more albums.
Ignore the trolls. You are correct.
@@daemonionx ..Is that you Court?
That “Talk to Me” song must be released, such a cool song
It’s only meant for iggy not us
It has been released on bootlegs years ago one of the outcesticides i believe
*edit*
I wrote this comment right before the acutal bootleg appeared when i was a teenager thats how we got unreleased music Napster wasnt even a thing yet lol
There's a live performance of "talk to me" from 1992 on disc 4 of the "with the lights out" box set. 🤷
I like that song too.
Not sure if they released a proper studio version.
5:29 that performance.
Was it on live from the muddy banks of the Wishka? I'm old, had it on tape but the more expensive CD had extra "rare" tracks and a track that played about 30 min after the last song but was not mentioned on the CD, record or tape. I can't remember if it was an instrumental, record companies used to make the album, CD and tapes slightly different so muso folk would buy all 3 versions. The cassette was cheapest then the record and the CD would cost £8 to £11 for a double album. There was a shop selling bootleg versions of all the CDs tapes etc that sold everything, I dunno how they managed to bootleg rare stuff as well as popular chart stuff but the covers were bad copies, the actual music was great compared to bootlegs from record fairs. The irony was they would print the "bootlegs are killing music" thing on the covers just like on the originals that had those stickers on. People were so naive many folks were duped thinking it was just a small indie record seller but they had shops in all the less reputable shopping centers across London 1990 to 1997 time. We used to get stuff we were going off from there and I bought the posthumous CD with the all black cover from there, I can't remember it's title as id gone off nirvana by 93, they were charging silly prices for everything by then and Curt even commented he'd become everything he had once rebelled against but I do remember watching unplugged live on MTV in The Geourge on TCRd up the west end and thinking he looks and sounds suicidal and got back into them as he wasn't acting the rock star diva , some channel said he was dope sick on that gig but you literally can't sit down when dope sick without extreme sweats stomach sickness and legs kicking out involuntarily so if he was he'd either gone for a few days without or he wasn't sick but had not had as much as usual however his eyes were very pinned , and even bright studio lights can't stop the massive pupil effect sickness gives people, but in the candle lit funeral parlor dark set he wouldn't have been pinned if he'd not used before playing. Those rumours about Courtney paying hitmen etc didn't even get a mention till long after the WWW became a thing , I think the first I heard was on a ten years anniversary of curts death someone made up the whole thing for a right wing tv show on conspiracy theories which originally got that theory disregarded then when they had been split long enough to become discovered by the millennial kids those kids who wished they had seen them live, I seen them 9 times, and most people I knew seen them at festivals, even folk who hated rock music but went to festivals anyway had seen them. They were so huge, Way bigger than Bieber or anyone since, even spice girls never achieved that much fame, and with megastardom comes mega theory, but I do think maybe someone who was jealous killed him, Courtney was checked out and her alibis were real but years later kids wanted someone to blame and like Yoko Ono got wrongfully blamed for Lennon's demise and murder so it was for Courtney. I don't like her but at the time she was devastated and angry at his fans for going to her tour and brandishing huge placards with kurdt on . I wonder if the kid with that banner actually thought it a good idea to wave a placard about with the father of her child's face on on her first tour after her husband died? I see both sides but that lass was really thoughtless. Imagine waving your grandad's pic around in front of your Grannie a year or 2 after he'd died? You just wouldn't be that cruel. It hurts even more to be a young widow as your not expecting your mid 20s hubby to die and I think conspiracy theories are 99% wrong. But I do think the industry killed him or people in it. Too many musicians die from drugs and if Curt owed drug money or had dissed a dealer the people selling narcotics at the time wouldn't have thought twice to make an example of a famous customer to scare their other customers. I think the armchair detective crue have been looking in entirely the wrong place.

Talk To Me is such a good song, I’m sure it would’ve been big if it was properly released
I'm from Detroit and was 16 in 1970 when I first saw the Stooges (Iggy writhed around the venue floor right in front of me)> I loved The Stooges
You're still around Detroit? Check out band V*A*S*E

They didn't have any songs from the Bleach album when Iggy saw them at the Pyramid Club in the summer of 1989 you say? They were literally on tour for that album, when he saw them!
She can't pronounce "bassist" so....
That rubbed me the wrong way too haha@@KennyRider137

And with Bleach they were relatively big for the indie scene. They even made European tours. I saw them in Spain before Nevermind happened.
Hey yo, Muzzy here. Drugs and alcohol have ruined so many lives. Stay clean and sober! If you can. Reality is for people who can’t handle drugs!
God, dude, you have information that Iggy Pop might show up at your gig, and your drummer’s late. Motherfucker, I would tear up the entire fucking joint from colossal anger!
I noticed you used my re-imagined version of Talk To Me for your video. That's cool, but maybe a credit is due in the description.

Crazy!!
Nirvana has soooo much unreleased, or underground, music !
All the Outcesticides are amazing. The Chosen Ones is anothwr killer box set. There are also several well done fan albums featuring even more unreleased music.
The happy version of Teen Spirit is fckn phenominal !
Strange how the artwork here portrays the musicians more beautifully than they are in real life. 😅
Kurt was already beautiful he didn’t need artwork to make him look better
I have the Outcesticide bootleg. It has a very obvious typo where it says "in MEMROY of Kurt Cobain". The mistake appears on the edge of the cd sleeve shown in this video.
I think Kurt would have been thrilled if he had done something with Iggy. Iggy was his idol. They could have even been friends. That would be a fine entry in his diary.
One of them actually but everybody knows John Lennon was his main idol
Not everybody knew.
My sentiments exactly 💯
Lol well everyone who knows nose Lennon was his idol
Who is this 'everyone?'
I saw Iggy in Iowa in 97. It was a epic show worthy of a Spinal Tap. He actually started screwing a huge amplifier and a roadie had to rush up and hold it so he didnt fall off.
I wish you allowed us to save your videos. This is very interesting!
Nirvana had success, but they were the “corporate version” of college radio that MTV execs decided to back. I’m not saying they weren’t talented. They were. But they were the safe bet. There was nothing “accidental” or “grass roots” about them. They were a calculated kid-friendly Pixies with colorful music videos and a handsome lead-singer, and they were played every hour on the hour to a group of hypnotized 11 year-olds back before the internet transfixed us all. If you can’t see this, I’m sorry…. Even Cobain realized it, and yet he went along with it… Those “exec-types” made a lot of money off of him-as Jiffy* Pop explained quite profoundly and boldly in this video-and those same “music execs” continue to make a lot of money off of him now.
And never forget: dead musicians are worth a lot more than living ones, especially when they get memorialized in the 27 Club. Just ask Hendrix, Joplin, and Morrison, etc. Who’s to say Kurt Cobain wasn’t always (and still isn’t) their angsty and profitable puppet? Who’s to say he’s not in the Overlook Hotel at this very moment stuck in eternal-recurrence singing some version of “forever and ever and ever” in perpetuity? No…. I got it wrong…. I’m with him now, annd you’re here, too… and I can hear him. He’s singing “You dreamed of a big star/He played a mean guitar/He always ate in the Steak Bar/He loved to drive in his Jaguar…” Do you know the song? I think you do…
Yes, with the lights out, it’s less dangerous…. Here we are now…. Entertain us.
I hsaw Iggy live nany times and the whole experience was amazing!!!!!!!!!
Nietzsche talks about the three stages of the soul. Young people are camels, taking on the weight of the world saying, look how strong I am. Then comes the Lion, who reclaims that weight and turns passions into virtues. Then in old age the final stage becomes the child who is innocent when all the passions have become virtues and all devils, angels. Kurt never got to progress very far, thinking he was still very much a camel.
I grew up in Detroit and remember seeing Iggy and watching him smack himself in the mouth with the microphone. Dude was nuts, but put on a killer show.
On purpose??
iggy is a nonce bro
Wow, great video. You got yourself a sub.

That was a new info, video .
I'll tell you, I love music and, yes, still at 63yr old.

It breaks my heart with tragic.
Mostly I think because they did all that out of what started as a Love for it.💔
Thank you for this video.
Love the art in your videos. It makes me want to actually watch the video and not just listen. I’ve subbed
Yet more Ai bs.
It often doesn't work if two singers collaborate - they end up treading on each other's toes. Now, a singer and someone who's exclusively an instrumentalist, yeah that can work much better :) There are some exceptions - such as Bowie and Lennon with the song "Fame", or Bowie and Queen with "Under Pressure", but in both cases, that was pretty much the only track they did.
So basically Bowie with anybody,
what about Lennon and McCartney? They seemed to work okay.
There’s an art to it - MacCartney did it well, Petty and Nicks did too, but could two intense unpredictable performers like Cobajn and Iggy have navigated the subtleties of an ongoing collaboration. On stage ripping through an old favourite they could have done of course, but wouldn’t it have been cool if they could have spent time on recording together, maybe writing songs, finding. harmonies and making a new sound. Iggy and Kate Pearson’s Candy showed what Iggy could do in a due, particularly his songwriting and the song does something really special extremely well. It sits alongside Stop Dragging My Heart Around (Nicks and Petty) as an all time great duet but has a great rock and roll edge: Kate Pearson and Iggy’s voices are key to this, and probably the long experience as musicians. . If Cobajn could have channeled some of his softer entry, who knows, maybe they could have done it.
Very True my friend
Interesting choice of words by Iggy, I wonder if he is referring to that was the only way Kirk could get his life back
But here is the thing, No matter how big you get, You can unwind it all slowly, Give it ten years and your old product,
The people who made all the money should have surrounded him with help, Like James Hatfield was,
But something about the grunge scene, They just let all of those guys burn out and go without any,
Seattle was Lucifers playground when it come to music and heroin , Grunge and depression went hand and hand,
That lead to a self destructive lifestyle... Music is a mood setter, Big hair was all about the party and women
He´s claiming Kurt was assassinated.
Kurt was murdered.
@@fabio4465 Yeah by himself🕶

Nirvana is my favorite band since 1993, when they came to play in Brazil!
@@PiedPooper-gh6cn No, unfortunately I didn't see both Nirvana's concerts in Brazil! Because I was only twelve years old at that time! I just watched them on TV! But I kew Nirvana's songs and albums in the early January 1993, quite a few days before Nirvana performed their concerts in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro! I was introduced by Nirvana's songs by my cousin Bruno!
Huge Kurt fan. Like massive. But he was not the godfather of grunge
Kurt and Iggy collaboration, EPIC..

I was sure he would not survive the -80`s and much less the 90`s expected him to go the same way as Johnny Thunders tbh!

An ichthyologist no doubt, a factotum of freshwater fauna 🤣
not sure why him making money meant he had to die. Plenty of people have made lots of money (more than Kurt) and haven't died.
Am impressed Iggy spotted Nirvana before they became big
See the way that list came out a couple of days ago and that (soon) more than half of Hollywood are addicted to adrenochrome. Well the music industry suffers the same thing.
Just look at 2pac, 100mill to do a world tour, when It's over somehow he ended up owing 1mill.
2016 they got rid of every actor and musician that would speak out.
Because Kurt was going to quit the band. He was worth more dead than alive.
why does him quitting the band make him worth more dead than alive?@@YouniverseAtWar
Because he want playing a long and cancelling shows and the people around him clearly thought he was too much of a loose cannon. Talking about quitting and leaving it all behind to lock himself away do herion and make art. He either lived and the money was lost or he died and everyone became rich.
@@djtbriggle if you're cancelling shows just means agents and promoters stop working with you. doesn't mean you have to die.
when he was alive many people got a piece of Nirvana's success. they would have continued to if he kept on living
It's a scary thing to be worth more dead than alive in the music business
HOW could that be??
That's what I want to know@@MicheleMcAdoo
What would it have sounded like fuckin epic
don't ask to hit the like button before you show your wares
In the end grohl took it as an opportunity. Kurt maybe decided it was a slight because he want to be included.
And when day it ended, with rainbow colors blending, his mind remained unmended, He had to die!
If all gifted singer songwriters would collaborate .... but 99% of the time they simply don't. Those guys live fast, intensly and work hard. Days are short then and leave litte space to collaborations. Finally, egos are big in the industry. It's more a "fan's" desire to see those type of collaborations than those guys' will. I'm not sure either two huge talents lead necessarily to extraordinary work.
If they were to collaborate I feel like it would have an Iggy/Kurt kinda vibe to it. js
🤣🤣🤣🤣...well duh. It's them collaborating together so yeah,it'd have their vibes in it
Iggys dad was a shop teacher in the mid 80's at the high school I went to, he would not tolerate any mention of his son. He was a big guy with a big beard and kids were intimidated by him, so the brave ones might write Iggy ! on the chalk board between classes to set him off, but few had the guts to razz him to his face. I personally never cared for Iggy, I was into Nugent, Trower, Van Halen, Sabbath ect and Iggy seemed like a sick joke compared to guys like that ,, And when I heard he liked to throw up on the crowd, I made it a point never to see him, not that I would have anyways ,,, Oh I take that back, I did see him once kinda, he was warming up for the Rolling Stones of all bands around 1980 or so, I guess they thought local Detroit guy at a Detroit show would do well, but he didn't. He got boo'ed off the stage and only played 15 minutes or so, practically no one who liked the Stones liked Iggy. The only song of his I can remember is 5 ft 1, that got a little radio play. [I saw an interview some time back and Iggy said yes, his dad was highly embarrassed of his son, but apparently they reconciled in later years, which is always a good thing]

That is the music biz. Sad but oh so true. Beware!
What? This must be wrong! Of course they played Bleach songs on Pyramid. It's all over RUclips
Yeah.... Thats not why Iggy got called Iggy. He tells a differnt story (from the horses mouth). Bit of a mis leader there. He got the name from a job he did selling shoes in a shoe store from the boss who decided to call him Iggy due to whatever reason and took it on board from there. According to the man himself unless he was just making that up. I doubt. That was Iggy's story on how it all started.
That's exactly how he got his nickname when he played drums in the Iguanas
I’m sure A.I. will sure as Pop release a track with both Kurt and Iggy on it. Sad.

Iggy saw Jim Morrison
And found his path
Would have never happened and you said so already in the post,, Iggy said no
Iggy & Kurt would sound like Nirvana but with lyrics you could understand? It would have been good.
This is a cool video but the narration sounds like AI. I would hit "like" if there was a real person doing a good job at narrating. The pronunciation of "bassist" was the final clue that this voice was a robot, haha...
Right? The Ai bs ruins it.
most content on the internet will be AI here shortly
It’s a real person
Honestly the possibilites would have been endless. Kurt didn't really colaborate very much if not at all, and putting both of them together would have been like nuclear fision.
Iggy was great in the adventures of pete and pete
Saying godfather of grunge I thought this was gonna be about Mark Arm.
hmmm interesting question , what would iggy and kurts music sound like !?? probably something like some of the tracks found on incesticide , more upbeat punky than all-out dirty and noisey .maybe a little mudhoney-ish possibly . i always thought Mark Arm of mudhoney had a touch of iggy pop about him

5:16 This was Iggy being polite and saying "hhe called me all fucked up one night, when he sobered up, the idea didn'tmean as much to him cause he dodged me" lol
Kurt wrote "Opinion" for Iggy. Not "Talk to me." This channel.

I thought this video had to be removed?
why?
At 3:47 how come Kurt has different colour eyes?
"They launched into playing 'I wanna be your dog' in 1969".... 😂 so, they all got in the hot tub time machine together and went back to 1969 to play that Stooges classic!
3:29 Johnny Carson
Bass is?
The Band will be called NirGy
Iggy and Kurt? It was never going to happen and that's why it didn't happen IMHO
I hadn't heard of him being called Iggy Pop until after The Stooges - wasn't he usually referred to as Iggy Stooge from 69 -74?
I'd be more interested if Iggy did a collaboration with Izzy Stradlin, who like James Williamson back in the day had that young Keef Richards vibe going on. I imagine the result would have sounded like 'KILL CITY'. I remember Dee Dee Ramone saying he wanted to work with Izzy which would've been great! Check out Supersonic by the Nymphs from this time which has Iggy on it and is such a great song. That speech at the end...wow!
Aside from some of the Stooges stuff & “Lust for Life” & maybe “It’s a Perfect Day” I never really “got” Iggy Pop…his music at least ,as a front man he was peerless
Kind of funny that you can't read the word "bassist" = person who plays bass guitar and you're reporting on rock bands. Damn girl, Hooked on Phonics might help that trip
8:25 I would love to hear a bootleg of this gig
Uploader skewed the angle. Why. Is it that woman scorned K L
Kurt Cobain did not die...of course he had to 'die' because it would solidify him in history. The entertainment industry has a Johnny Bravo type thing that goes on behind the scenes. Iggy Pop plays guitar left-handed. It looks like he might have played drums left-handed as well.
Also, is it accurate that Chad Channing was late for a rehearsal or gig and that was the reason for his firing? I don't think that's true. It was Aaron Burckhard who was late for a rehearsal (or multiple rehearsals) and was fired as a result.
yeh and kurt trashed the drums so many times + the rest was part of the act
For some reason I'm craving peanut butter ...
The damned t shirt 😂 and then come as you are came shortly.
Most people seem to think they ripped Come as You Are from Killing Joke, but The Damned used that rift first. Although a sixties band used it also.

If they had teamed up it would have sounded like nearly all collaborations. Sh1t.
You never know

Is Kurt godfather of grunge? He plyed punk he wasn't first in grunge. In fackt, Iggy tried to play with The Doors when Jim Morrison died
Apparently Kurt was mortified that he just happened to be wearing a Stooges shirt the first time he met Iggy, he said he felt " so fucking uncool" (I'm paraphrasing)
Pop it's just short for popular. "Popular music"
Lame reporting. They played the pyramid Club in 89 and bleach was out in full force and so were all the tunes.
