Join me on a fossiliferous adventure to the Isle of Wight where i go in search of cretaceous fossils on the south of the Island. Day 1 starts at Shepards Chine taking in Atherfield bay, Whale Chine and Walpen Chine rounding off with a quick visit the Rocken End.

How did you get down to Whale Chine? I thought the steps had fallen down ages ago.

It was possible to get down when I went, though I wouldn't trust the rope that had been put in

The tide might have been lower because of the moon.

This was awhile ago. I can't remember the state of the moon but it certainly can have an effect
