Really appreciate how level-headed and down-to-earth you are in these reviews compared to some others who seem to kind of 'fan-girl' over the gun just because it's new and everyone's talking about it. We need this kind of objectivity to hold these companies accountable for charging a riDICulous amount of money for kind of not that much more for you money. Like you said, it's a great gun, but is it worth nearly 2k... 🤷🏻♂
But my LV2 makes me feel better about myself... :)

Yea brah is so earth like
My 07 is still going strong. Peak PE design.
Idk why but the Ego 10 will always have a special place in my heart.
Ohhh man bringing back memories. I had the SLS Ego 10 back in the day!
I think the Ego 10 is when they had it just right. It was right after they realized people didn't care about their guns being able to cycle 50 times a second. So the Ego 10 was the first one they actually tried to make shoot nicer and it had the best of all worlds, and it was simple. Technically it started with the Ego 9, but you had to buy the "Plank Kit" and even then it wasn't that good.
Im 6’2” with big hands, the lv2 fits me perfect, I love this marker
I was about to buy one on release day. Wife (who was fine with it) asks "what does it do better than your 170R?" Me "Not a thing if i'm being honest." Didnt buy it and dont regret it.
Brad you have outdone yourself keeping making amazing content🎉 been waiting for this review 🎉
Love the videos! I’m coming back to paintball after 10 years. Your videos helped me getting back into paintball. Can’t wait to see what videos you’ll release soon.
Welcome Back buddy! go sling some paint
I think this is the best edited video I've seen from you yet awesome video man keep up the great work
Great review as always 👏
In regards to trying to justify the cost of a high end marker, I completely agree, and I've honestly felt that way since the Ion. For every high end marker that has come out since, there's been a lower end equivalent that's really just as good, or almost as good. And now with the Etha 3, we've really reached the Pinnacle of that high end/low end crossover.
I say dangerous power poppet is a great alternative to the lv platform and it's still as short as the old egos
@@ExelArtsbut no parts when something breaks or gets lost😅
@@Marcelis happens to all old guns there's no parts for the original Lv1s, solenoids are hard to come by as the manufacturer is having issues sending them out to be fair those solenoids sucked they died more often then older solenoids I got a pm8 solenoid out lasted my lv1s, maybe screws which still gets used on the lv2 other then the grips finally
I have a dp fusion elite and love it.
@@Likeaworm I quit paintball years ago because it got to be way too expensive, and part of that was my ignorance. I bought the whole "bigger is better" mindset, through the years I had a Luxe 2.0, Etha 2, CS1, Dye M2, Vanquish 1.5, and dp G4. I was a young teenager and I worked months on end just to afford these, summer after summer, paycheck after paycheck. Now that I am a bit older I realize that the two most important markers I owned were the dp and etha, and honestly everything past that was just chasing some sort of "I need the better one".
If I were to get back into paintball I wouldn't be looking to get a "cs3.5.pro.max.170.180.R", I'd get an old etek 5, a steelie, a nice mask, and a cheaper hopper; The rest of the money would go toward actually playing and enjoying myself, not regretting spending a months wages on something that looks pretty.
Great review. Loved the gameplay sprinkled throughout.
I think what you're highlighting at the end there is we've got sub $500 PE offerings that have worked past annoyances found on the LV line... such as the wires all over and the internal hose to the solenoid.
As you highlighted, the LV2 provides a unique ergo/profile compared to the CS2 and Geo4. If the gat stays popular maybe they'll address the board(s) in a future iteration... Now that people have stopped focusing on the pipe they could spend some time elsewhere =P
Thanks Brad. You da man.
Well done, as always! Thanks for the honest review!
My pleasure!
@@PaintballRuinedMyLife is it worth trading in my HK170r for the lv2 ?
Been waiting for this LFG!
solid review, well done sir!
Thank you! 👍
Brad, miss you at Predator PB brother! glad to see the channel has taken off!
These guns shoot insanely smooth. The ergonomics of the frame are definitely something you have to get used to though.
Looking forward to the LV2.1
I love my tech series and those big grips are awesome with my massive hand… shout out to bfp gear for getting a tech series in my hands 🤘🏻
Got my tech series there too. Best in the business
Trigger rake adjustment is another adjustment for individuality! Try it.
Great video, love the objectivity on the LV2. 100% agree, awesome marker.. but that price point is hard to stomach. Definitely think if someone wants an LV but not wanting to spend the dough, getting a used 1.6 is probably the best way to go.
Adjusting for inflation, the LV2 is actually less exspensive than the Ego was in respective dollars
I just grabbed a nice used 1.6, stoked to use one after just spools for a while
Same gripse when I saw it. But still bought it. I dont know what planet was thinking but either they really thought this wasnt going to sell well, which talking to the owner of my feild, was there perception. They had more feedback to do a cs3 then lv2 and almost didnt release one. But dont expect any of it still the lv 3 in 2034. Or the 2.5 that will have everything in the same place but with just 2 boards as they phase out the 3 they have now.
Nice video and good conclution.
Fair critism and spoken from a "normal" user...
Paintball is expensive, buy an etha 3 and when you play it in 2 years then go fency if you want.
I find it crazy that an Ego is considered a BIG paintball gun. My 06 Ego is still my favorite gun for feel and shot. My Dren Luxes are a minuscule 2nd place....they are very small though!
I’m even more satisfied with my Fusion Elite now
I'm gonna wait for a used one, I think. I like that he doesn't fanboy over this stuff. I'm too much of a pleb to even tell enough difference in ANY high end marker to justify spending, what, 5x what some of these other markers cost. I think it's just that need to have the shiny toy that gets me.
AYEEEEE HES BACK
That thing is gorgeous
Thanks for the review. I can't say there is anything about it that says I need to replace my lv1.6
best review on the 2 ive seen
i loved the shot of my 1.5
You are the Alton Brown of paintball and I love it
Hah! That's awesome and so true. Just needs like a 'gearbag cam' angle or something. :D
Honestly, high end guns havent improved performance wise all that much since the early 2000s. Sure they are tool less, more efficient etc. But they are mostly plain tubes with some lines milled in. We used to have the A bomb and other special timmys, egos, private label and SL egos, shockers etc. Nowdays at 10.5 bps cap anything over a etha is really overkill. 🤷♂️
My primary marker is a shocker nxt because they still perform the downside is maintenance
Completely agree. I started restoring my current classic markers and want to pick up more of my old dream guns to put into rotation. The new stuff all looks exactly the same, like everyone saw the success of the luxe in the early 2010's and tried to make their own copy.
Please come back you are my fav pb RUclipsr
I like my lv2 just like it is..i do think it could have....shoukd have had better ergos and wires to compete with the spoolies in the same price range...but at the end of the day the lv2 will nit br over shadowed or out shined by say a tm 40 on the field and thay is great for a stack tubed poppet marker to go this far andxstay relevant...imo
Ya I thought G6R also when shooting it, but smoother
I'm watching this video for the second time, and I can't help but think of how cool the thing would look if it had an old school needlessly long volumizer. Lol
BFPgear OP
Thank you for your input on the LV2, hopefully they will release a pro version to address some of the concerns you have about it. I think I'll wait for that version and pass on this one.
poppet guns are the best. i love this look of these markers.
I got a lv1.6 I’ll probly keep forever. I just love it
That's cool to see, I haven't used a poppet in... forever. Got a wild hair and ordered a 1.6 last night.
I've been out of the game for a while and used to shoot a big old beautiful brick of an impulse, which is also a stacked tube. Now im big, old and beautiful and the guns are light and streamlined.
Bruh. Same. This, the old matrix, and damn I could time a cocker with the best of them.
@@nxfedlt1 I almost got into it about cockers when I posted. In this video the guy talks about "it feels like shooting a paintball gun", and all I could think about was trying to snapshoot with 20lbs of mechanical autococker, steel tank and stainless steel boomstick or trying not to short stroke the trigger while laying down as much paint as I could. Yet, nothing felt better than shooting a well tuned autococker. It makes me want to pick one up again.
@@merek5380 haha have you seen the prices? I think I tossed a freeflow since no one wanted to play with them. I can hear the mechanical noises and 3 way now! Clack clack clack.
My hyper sport works shoebox shocker laughs at your dainty impulse.
@ryanupchurch9683 the only reason I didn't buy the shoebox shocker is that my best friend already rocked one out and his old brother ran a mechanical autococker that was super heavy to lug around.
Top; thanks
Where yah at man? Looking forward to your next video man!
I had a Ego 06, 08, 09 and a Ego10, loved them to death. Until I bought a Geo2.1, Never even consider going back to EGO 🤷🏽 The soft impulse and the way lower sound was so drastic that I thought the gun was off the first time i shoot it 🤣🤣🤣🤣 the funny part of that was that I got it brand newout of the box, put it together, programed the setting and chrono and went to work on a tournament. 😅😅😅😅😅
Having the boards separate is way better than an all in one board because when you have to replace something you only have to pay for that one smaller board and not the whole big board to fix one issue.
I durned the dwell up on my old etek ego, shoots just like my team mates lv2
I had an A1 Fly! It was a weird gun! Little wheels to adjust the trigger....
You should do video on best used markers to buy now that prices are down on older premium markers
Older vid i know, but the wire setup is still much better than old stuff like the DM9. I hate dealing with those eye wires.
MORE VIDEOS. More videos plz
i feel like egos (LVs) need to use wired eyes because the breach is higher since its a stacked tube
Very true, it would be more difficult to use the newer board/eye system.
Great video!! Well done for an unbiased opinion.
I have an Ego 11 HDE and seriously wanting to upgrade. It’s been a fabulous marker, but I’ve been wanting to upgrade for a few years.
In terms of pricing, in Australia we are paying $2,595 for an LV2, and there is a team based version here too for $2,795.
Thank you sir. $2,595 is an insane number, I think I could buy a running car for that.
“Planet eclipse most expensive marker” CS3 said hold my beer.
Im 30 seconds in... lookinging to get back in the game at 32 after not playing last since 2009 and owning the 05 when it was tits and it completed my AGG look.. im convinced i could buy another 05 and hop right back into it.. besides my shitty knee and achey back now adays ha
Miss you
I'm sure it's dope. But I fully expected for $1600 that it would have more bells and whistles like the CS2. Maybe it's just the older platform that is harder to modernize. I just feel like this could have been better.
I loved shooting my Egos back in the day. I love my GEO4. But for this price there is no way i would ever consider purchasing this marker.
Jack clearly doesn't seems to be as motivated on the ego platform as he is the spools I mean the ego was the last stocked tubed platform to remove the hose while it moved to at-pipe it even became bigger. Other poppets have already done what the lv2 does other then it being quieter
Noticed the Ego 5 didn't have killa detents on it. How did you get new style detents to fit?
Yeah I can agree with worth of high ends now. The Mac dev cyborg is older bu5 had better features in my opinion
Etha 3 worth it
I love my Etha3 electric…but still had some clown at the field tell me I couldn’t try out for “His” speedball team with it because he said “it’s GRN, if you were a serious player you’d have an all metal marker. 🙄
Kinda bummed me out as I just am getting back into the sport after 20 years and I got this clown telling me I can’t play in tournaments because basically my marker wasn’t expensive enough or shiny enough for him. 😂
But I’m having to much fun I guess, even with my GRN marker 😂, to stop playing every week. I’m not letting one idiot stop me from having fun. And I seriously haven’t met any players besides him that haven’t been really positive and really nice people.
@@stop736 don’t worry about the idiots out there. Just showem what you got man and have fun.
I think planet eclipse is moving away from the lvs (egos) all the rage seems to be the geos/cs/gteks. When I played in the mid 2000s egos and eteks were some of the best and it seemed like everyone had them and each model year seemed to get better and better. Now I think they still do them because its kind of their flagship. I don't play much anymore but still love my ego 11 and don't plan on buying anything new.
Completely disagree. Like me there are players that prefer the stocktube design and feel personally I wish they were shorter but lvs are the most popular guns at my fields and other fields near me.
The only issue is they don't seem to put the same effect into those guns as they do as spools
Paintball guns have reached maximum efficiency the proof of this is the etha 3 being basically the same exact gun as the cs2 minus a screen . Literally has same bolt . There are just such few parts on a gun now it's almost impossible to have a major difference between them . There is no point to spend that kind of money unless you just have it to spend . Performance wise they are exactly the same .
Talking about the frame full of wires compared to the CS2 and how that’s better. Well, about that CS3…
It’s a little better than the LV2 but yeah
what is the beanie/bounce hat you're wearing?
Brad where did ya go in looking for more lv2/cs3 content
Can you do a video on pod packs for smaller players and kids
This is how I've felt with high end markers for the last 5 or so years. Is the 170R worth the extra couple hundred dollars over the etha 2? Yeah I think so. The etha 3? I'm not totally sure? Is the CS2 worth the extra cash over the 170R? Definitely not right?
Now in a few years as these LVs live on the used market for a bit I'll be down to pick one up for 800-1000 but 1600 is a little insane for what you're really getting.
Honestly the hard part for me when justifying some of these high ends over the mid ends are the killer mech frame options for the mid end bracket.
I ended up with a DSR+ (hopefully the frame will come out soon) and a 170R because having the mech frames was more appealing to me than having markers without the option that perform marginally better.
To clarify, I know that a mech frame endeavor would be difficult for the LV2 or Geo 4 and I'm not implying that they're inferior for not having them.
It's just absolutely crazy what the market has evolved in to. Blows my mind!
Not me still with my Etek 4 that I got when I was a teenager
Great review. I'm with you in club opto switch, too bad they eliminated it from this version. I'm sure PE just wants to milk the platform for the next several years ala LV1 with minor changes every step of the way. Including how much more this weighs than it's predecessor.
Yea I'm not a huge pe fan anymore because they're sheisty with this. Putting a plug in the trigger frame is a joke.
Whether you, me or anyone else "likes" this way of business is unimportant. That's a smart business model and in this tiny industry, that's important. I'd rather a good company like PE survive than die and to survive, that's what it takes.
As for weight, the LV2 weighs 1.7oz more than the 1.6 (no barrel, apples to apples) - 1 lb 14 oz vs. 1 lb 12.3 oz. That's the equivalent of 48 paintballs. Lord have mercy, the horror!
@@ConTheDon187 How is the path plug a joke? It makes all the sense in the world from a manufacturing perspective.
Best reviews ever
PRML WHERE YOU AT BROTHA? can you compare the axe and the etha 3 please
CS3 coming next on review ^^
How are those PBRACK elbow pads? I noticed you use many arm pads throughout your vids and was curious if they’re better or more durable than the exalt free flex pads. Mine are ripping idk which ones to get
I used the CTX HK pads but they are a but to bulky, only use the PB Rack ones because I had them around. Durability wise the Infamous are probably best, Ive always really liked the Dye pads too.
I have a set of the bunker kings and they’ve held up really well.
Love the review, and its true it feels that it needed few more updates than just eliminating the at pipe
you do realize there is also a change with the regulators, lookup the LV 2 manual.
also toolless grips, toolless eyes, easy trigger swap, new latching feedneck.. it's literally everything people wanted from Jack. What upgrades were you wanting so badly?
@@Vranabg so it just a rearrangement of the regs thats all, nothing wow there, and i own one so i have first hand experience with the gun
@@BillBrasky86 but a $800 dollar gun has those already, see the video again a hear what he’s saying about cost vs features
@@CockerMadness what new $800 stacked tube poppet has the same features?
You cannot compare a single regulated spool to a dual regulated stacked tube poppet and its unique packaging challenges.
Didn’t take 17 years just took 6 versions of the same marker! Lol
We would have had it a lot soon had all the fan boys not gotten so excited for a simple milling change and stopped buying them after the 1.1.
I will stick to my 170R it shoots rails and costs way less....
So you can adjust the SFR like on the geo? Does it also change the shot feel?
Make a video on it???
Yep pretty much although the LV guns are going to be more adjustable. Certainly got into more detail in the other videos about the how it works.
@Paintball Ruined My Life do you know where I can get a 50 caliber paint ball gun that ships to Canada
The Carbon mask is Less of More Protection?
Currently trying to get my dads 08 ego up and running after 10+ years of being stored, he passed and I stopped playing but I really want to get out to the field again. Just need a tank and I should be good to go. Any recommendations?
Any compressed air tank should work, I’m partial to the ninja stuff.
@@PaintballRuinedMyLife I have a Ninja but the hydro stamp was 2010, never got it hydro since and pretty sure I cant at this point. Thank you!
All carbon fiber thanks have a lifespan on 15 years, you could get it tested but you'll only get a couple years out of it.
I have SUPER small hands. I love the feel of the LV2 🤷♀
Maybe I'm just a fanboy
Will the L V-1 barrels work with the L V-2. As they changed the insert setup to a different style
The complete barrels can be transferred for gun to gun, the the individual parts are not compatible with each other.
I feel like planet eclipse are running out of upgrades I feel like the CS3 is a step back the LV2 has a nice feeling tho
lv2 or cs3? i wanna see your guys opinion on them
2k for that piece is crazy
yup. fuck working today LOL
Calling the A1 Fly 'weird' is an understatement. . . It’s worthy of being in the conversation of 'weirdest paintball guns ever made.'
I am looking to replace my ego 11. If you had to choose would you pick the LV2 or Geo IV?
LV2. But the CS2 is probably an even better choice. Or wait for the CS3 coming out relatively soon
They all shoot really well, but the LV2 is quite a bit larger. I would try to hold each, just walk up to people and ask, it’s what I did and people do to me 😄.
Would you recommend a lv2 over a field one force v2?
I’d go LV2 but can’t go wrong with either.
Do you have anything on fill stations? I've been looking to get back in, but air fill up is far from me and 15$ to fill, wtf?
I've been looking for compressors, but they have horrible reviews on nearly all of them and field setups are a good chunk of change.
I’ve never liked the air compressor at home route, if it were me I would buy a scuba tank and scuba fill station.
Get a scuba and a fill station. I've got ~$250 for my at home setup for running drills. The ANS gear fill station works without flaw. There's probably a few Black Friday deals coming up on the Dive websites as well. The local field fills mine for $10.
Cs3 review coming soon?
Lv 2.1 wireless eyes new trigger 1700$??
Man why the hell didn’t they go with the AA option like the cs2 & cs3 . I think ill be waiting for the for the next lv
I think mainly because they need to extra voltage for to power the solenoid. Id prefer AA too.
Its feels like jake just doesnt care anymore about the ego line or lacks the imagination to make improvements. Its sad when older poppet guns already came out hoseless with other improvements decades before the ego line went hoseless and the lv2 isnt a true hoseless marker its still has the micro air line inside the gun
No Hoes (5:40) lmao
Yeah at this point I think PE is just milking the ego legacy. Totally agree that if we’re gonna shell out $1500+ for this thing, it better come with all the latest tech standard. Otherwise they’re just selling a slightly improved LV 1.6. Anyway I’ll stick with my OG empire mini. I’ll spend that 1500 on a real gun lmao.
How do you suggest Jack package the necessary hardware to ditch the eye/solenoid wires without increasing the height of the marker? I'm sure he's all ears.
@@axledog7297 Gee you sound like you might have an Idea yourself. Why don’t you run it by him? I’m sure it wouldn’t be difficult to adjust the tech they have for the other guns to work with the ego platform. They have enough money and experience to make it happen.
What if they got rid of the screw in rammer cap on the back and did a little tiny Geo style tool less cap! That would be cool. You nailed all the other points. Especially about the eye wires.
How often are we REALLY taking everything apart to the point where eye wires are annoying? Sure modern updated toolless versions made us spoiled and i can see that it should maybe be "expected" in such an expensive/modern marker, but it's not a deal breaker.
It’s funny, at the same time guns started to become much more reliable they also became easier to take apart. I rarely ever have the need to disassemble stuff.
Ty for this. I was about to buy but ddnt really like eye system and that tube runnin through middle of it. Ty
I feel like they're reinventing the wheel. The only real change is the valve and the air-thru grip frame. The other changes are there, but miniscule. And that 3-piece barrel is egregious.
The price just can't be justified whatsoever. Beautiful review tho!
Yep pretty much lol. Thanks!
@@PaintballRuinedMyLife Keep up the great work!
