I love what Jack and PE are doing now with the ‘low end’, the Etha 2, EMEK, PALS and the MG100. For me, these are the exciting products in paintball. Low cost, high performance and reliability that you can put in the hands of the youngest or newest player and they’ll love the sport. I’ve owned Egos and Geos in the past but when I got my Etha 2 it was a revelation, so user friendly and tidy, pretty much a perfect package,

So good to see Jack, Ledz and Jules' success. I was their team marshal for the first ever paintball tournament they played in Worsley woods back in 1989 when they were still called the Banzai Bandits. I might even still have the "Rising Sun" headband they gave me as a thank you at the end of the day.

I’m in nostalgia overload. I remember when the ego first got introduced in 2004. I was at NPPL commanders cup 2004 in San Diego and Eclipse Factory was team I saw shooting them. XSV did not have a gun sponsor at the time and they were definitely the first big team to shoot them. I think the Hurricanes and Nexus were the only other pro teams using them in 2005. Bob Long intimidators were definitely still the most popular gun at the time but after the ego got introduced, there were a lot of teams making the switch. The Ego has always been a machine gun especially in 7-man. I was playing for a Dye sponsored team at the time but I was definitely jealous of guys the got to shoot egos. The matrix was no slouch but the ROF you could reach with an ego on semi was just insane. Awesome to see how influential PE has become in the sport and still making arguably the best guns you can buy.

I'm 37 and started playing paintball when I was 16 years old. I started with a spyder, then to an automag, and auto cocker. I started playing speed ball and got picked up by a team. I remember when Eclipse made the electronic trigger frame and was eager to install one. What a game changer for me. We ended up getting a partial dye sponsor, so we played with their markers . I had the DYE DM4. One of my teammates picked up an ego and we all shot it. Loved that marker. I got out of paintball when I got out of the air force. Recently, I wanted to be more active and lose some of this "dad bod" weight and thought getting back into paintball would be ideal. However, when looking at all these new markers, I don't know where to start. I've been looking at buying a new set up, and have checked into Dye products, SP ( are they out of business now?), as well as other brands. I've got to say this video has solidified my choice in picking up an eclipse paintball gun. Not sure which model yet, that EGO LVL 2 is in the lead right now.

I remember when PE came out with the e-blade I had my drilled out my orracle and slapped it on and it was my backup to my 2002 intimidator. Then when they came out with the ego I thought they were just ripping off of Bob Long. I happened to get a 2006 ego in a trade, and I have never looked back. Such a great company and there products have always been top notch, but more importantly there customer service has been second to none and that's what keeps me coming back and buying there products.

Been playing since I was 15, started with an old tippmann I bought at a local pawn shop. Went through some cheap spyders. Eventually saved up some cash to purchase the etek3 when it came out. I never bothered to upgrade guns as it never failed on me through all these years. Fast forward to today and now my son uses my Etek 3 and I spoiled myself with the CS2. Even before seeing this vid, If you ever owned a PE gun, you can already tell that the creators poured all their knowledge and love of the sport into these machines. Guns look sexy, they feel amazing in your hands, they work so flawlessly. You just know you’re buying quality when it’s something from PE I have mush respect for them. The day they close their doors will be a sad day for paintball all around the world. Hope that never happens.

Great documentary. I stepped into the sport around the E-blade era and got to slowly see how they earned the trust of the community. The Ego launched as a very loud and not very smooth gun. It made up for this however by being ultra reliable, easy on paint, air efficient, fast, lightweight and easy to use. No other market really covered the spectrum at the time as much as the Ego did and while many made rationalizations for their own platforms at the time (an Intimidator shooter myself), it slowly became apparent that there were some very distinct advantages to the platform. Fast forward to today, most players that run their gear hard and can choose what they want to shoot still typically gravitate towards Planet Eclipse. I am not saying that there aren't other reliable platforms on the market, but I think on average (especially from an overall brand perspective), they are pretty much the on-average, go-to company for reliable/functional paintball markers.

While I'm not a PE fanboi - in fact, had some bad experiences with a couple of Geos that soured my perception a bit - I can appreciate the pedigree behind the Eclipse brand, along with the customer-first mentality that is lacking across all brands of consumer products today. They just keep getting better and better, which is hard to believe. Awesome video, loved hearing the history of the company, how the engineering and development evolved from feedback from players. I have used and been a fan of Planet Eclipse for years. From using their autocockers, to an Oracle with an eBlade 1, then a fully custom Karnivor with an E2 and complete PE ram/solenoid setup (god did that marker rip), to an ego. Love my current PE setups 1) GEO 3 with the Planet Eclipse FL barrel and 2) GEO 3.1 with a Freak Carbon barrel. Great company, anyone is lucky to experience any one of their markers, which to this day still look great and dominate in terms of performance.

I got to be honest, I hated planet eclipse egos with a prejudice for so long because for 2 years in '04, '05 I was encouraged by lots of our local speedball/recball players to get an intimidator, and finally in spring of 2005 I spent a saved up $1499 for an alias, and the week I brought it to the feild to play with for the first time not a single other recballer brought any intimidators, instead 2 of our guys brought the all new 05 ego, and within a month all the timmy guys played with just the egos. Suddenly after I spent the big bucks to get the best of the best I found myself once again sporting a marker nobody else at my feild used. I was sooo pissed and hated anything planet eclipse put out, but my opinion changed when the sl74 came out. The looks and speed was a head turner for me. The cs markers and the lv's have my respect, great markers no doubt but I am currently sporting my dream gun, the bob long VIS.

I love and respect PE don't get me wrong, one of my favorite guns to this day was my ego9, but I found it funny how they spent so much time discussing the 05 ego and they skipped over the air hog geo 1. That gun straight up caused us to lose tournaments before. I had back men run out of air in two games because of how inefficient the geo 1 was and we lost two games one tournament because of it lol.

Let me tell you guys a story. I've been shooting all sorts of guns since around 2002. Really liked the spool valve of dye guns compared to timmys. 05 ego was released and blew everyone away. Was always impressed with the dm6 and dm7 and owned many of those. Been out of the sport since 2008 up until recently. Had a 2011 ego with a crappy navigation console and eclipse contacted eclipse Europe and was able to send my one of the only consoles left in the world. Free. I picked up a dm14xx ($2000) retail, and the airport pin snapped in half using a dye throttle tank. I call DYE and speak to a man named Todd. He's chewing chips the whole time and recommends I buy a new ASA for $90, and then charged me about 10 bucks for a new pin because they can't make an asa that works WITH THEIR OWN TANK. The customer service isn't there, the product isn't there, and the innovation hasn't been there since 2k7. I'd take an eclipse gun every day of the week over the trash that dye peddles nowadays. If you want to destroy your grips every time you change a battery, get dye. If you want a useless and fragile eye pipe, get dye. They can't even stand behind their own products. Eclipse is actually trying to grow the sport, DYE is trying to make money by screwing people.

I used to have a gold 06 ego with a delrin bolt and titanium pin. I always remember thinking my NXT shocker felt like shit compared to the ego. The closest thing to size at the time was an angel, and I always thought the grips we're terrible on those too. Nothing compared to Planet Eclipse.

I actually wish they'd mention the ETEK and GTEK lines. While not being ground breaking or being used by the pros, they still showed how much Eclipse cares for their customers. Cant afford to drop $1k+? Heres our same quality for less! Also, isn't the gamma core in the CSs the same gamma core, or at least based on, the one from the GTRKs?? I do miss my older Eclipse markers

Planet Eclipse have always been trendsetters in the industry. There are a lot of great companies out there, but brand recognition and devotion I've seen from those that shoot/own Eclipse markers is second to none. One of my favorite guns ever to this day was my Geo 2.1. I really regret selling that thing :(

Now yall just need to drop a good hopper, i cant decide between all the mediocrity out right now, we need you to do what you did to mag fed with the emf.
