I far as I know, JoSAA councelling ke liye eligibility 75% hoti thi pehle but iss baare JoSAA se hata diya (scrapping of 75% criteria) toh boards ke % nahi poochne wale JoSAA ke registration ke time. I guess that applies for all students irrespective of which year they have passed.

But it's a difficult to maintain both stream software and given non cse/it branch , most of the students of core branch go for further studies and for govt. Exams.

@@varshithhh I got chemical branch at NIT ROURKELA.
If you are getting Biotechnology at NIT warangal then you must be getting some upper branches at mediocre NITs so i would suggest choose Other branches over Biotechnology. it all depends on you that how you will manage your time in college you can do coding while opting other branches but you will have to work very hard so choose wisely!
But if you are passionate in Coding and want to study CSE only then you can go for CSE Branches in Tier 3 colleges
