- Gray Zone Warfare has just been released, and things are not good. I understand it's an early access title, but there seems to be a monumental gap between the marketing material for the game, and the game itself. And people are, rightfully so, not particularly happy.

Fr although I think they’re gatekeeping the updates and then just feeding them to us because these updates came out so quick. They just have these on hand. I think they’re feeding it to us slowly so we play the game and not refund it right away.😂

@Rawbful greyzone isn't a scam, the devs were very clear that this game is still in early stages of development and people are expecting a finished product, on the other hand the performance issues need to be fixed because the game only runs well on 3000 and 4000 series with atleast 12gb of vram. I'm having a blast though 28 hrs played since launch and I hope the devs can use the new funds to higher more people and improve the game

I mean all of this was clear from the YT/ Streamer early access. The bullet spongeyness and stuff was visible. Which is why I didn’t buy it yet, I want to wait until it’s more refined. I don’t know why everyone expected it to be completely different in a week

This. They saw enough interest that they thought it would be a good idea to let people get a taste of it, and in the long run the small team can have more data to work with. Countless hours of videos on this game, anyone buying it right now and complaining is either a complete moron, or did it for the sole purpose of making a video like this one, hoping shitting on it will get them some extra views.

I think people can get shot a lot more than most people realize.
I know in movies, people drop fast.
But in real life, I seen people take close to a dozen rounds and keep going for a while (sometimes unfazed) and sometimes even survive.
If an organ isn't destroyed and if you don't mentally shutdown, your life is only limited by blood loss.
The only issue I have with the ai taking bullets is that they act like they are perfectly fine.
But it's alpha, they can still add more variety to the ai reactions later.
And I hope we get different damage and effects from different calibers and barrels.
And real organ placement would be amazing but I'm not expecting that at all.

They are the only ones willing to take a risk. Generic 'modern warfare' shooters are the most safe, soulless, and boring games that release in present day, and loot/battle royale mechanics doesn't really change that.

@@axwin6872 I haven't found anything to be insanely bad especially considering I only spent 35$ on an alpha build of the game. My biggest gripe is how loud the helicopters are. 🤷♂️

holy shit, i'm lucky then. i played 6h yester day. and all i had was some stutters (Intel Core i9-12900K and Gigabyte AORUS GeForce RTX 3090 Ti XTREME WATERFORCE 24G). normally like 90-110 fps and very responsive npc. i can only speak for myself but i really enjoy it.

Interesting. So as usual it's something to do with specs and also the fact that it is quite literally an alpha build. Purchasing Gray Zone right now is just investing in the game while also saving money in the long run for when it comes it to be $50-70 at the finished mark in another year or two. All of the youtubers that played it before it was "released" definitely said it was far from complete and that there are a lot of issues to be dealt with but it will happen eventually. How are people expecting a complete game when it's never been said to be that way at all????? stupid consumers.
I've been having a blast with a 3080 and 5800x. I've been using TSR and the image looks great and I've been getting 50-60fps but smooth without the dips I was having with all the other options. EDIT: 3840×2160 res all high settings except for post processing and tsr on epic.

manor lords player charts show a decline regardless off the region play. The USA have the chunk of around 90k in peak hours then 60k for other europe and asia regions during there peak times. That number has dropped when you see the chart, I think the hype was massive it is a great game but like me at 20 horus to 30 hrs min it does get a bit repetitive and slow in time it will have more content but its a great game. This game is slowly going up not peaked only 65k total players but it didnt help with launch problems but watching it close

AAA studios would kill to have them, it is far from "losing all its players" which is the point I'm guessing you're trying to make, it reminds me of those people who say Helldivers 2 is dead because it doesn't have 500K concureent players anymore, if this is the standard then pretty much every game is dying/dead

@@jagg8471 I agree the game is pretty good. People with older hardware are upset, but the game isn't optimized and there are no game ready drivers yet. A few weeks from it will be much more playable.
My group had performance issues on insertion, but we had consistently 70-80 frames (both have 3060’s), we had no issues with the shooting or eliminating enemies. Weapons load correctly, animations work, and everything went just fine. Our first insertion was the only frame drop we experienced. Based on our experience, we’re still willing to still play and support the game.
Same, 80-100 fps on epic with a 4070, frame drop occurred on the first insertion otherwise things work.
Sure animation, AI, damages, and more as a lot of work to be done, but people seem to forget in which state EFT dropped…
i have a 3070 and i got about 55fps with insane freezing and stutters, literally unplayable
he’s bashing the game hard for his own issues…also have no issues with ai and it runs consistent at over 120 fps

he made a video with the sole purpose of making a video trashtalking the game. a week ago we saw what we will get and we got exactly this. most of the lag is gone today, even tho more players join. it has 65k+ concurrent players, steam reviews going up but this absolute moron talks only trash to generate views.
Looks like modern FPS games are busy catering towards gunplay, weapon inspection/loudout instead of building an actual fun game outside of it...

I've been religiously following this game for a week now, not for any normal people reason, but because I'm morbidly amused watching a video where a guy is flabbergasted at some bullets ricocheting off some walls and saying things like "the weight of the bullets in your gun affect your recoil, the devs thought of everything", and all of that could be true but it really does reminds me of when Todd Howard say that rock over there will be 16 times the details. I don't think this would turn out to be a bad game in the long run, but the devs really need to get their priorities straight, like getting a solid formula for their core gameplay loop instead of minute details that sounds great for sensationalized marketing but made little gameplay difference for an early access title.
Slogs' earlier video called "Tactical Shooter Devs Keep Making the Wrong Game" stated a very similar point. Ergo, these shooter devs are more interested in cool guns, bullet dynamics, weapon attachments, high concept systems, and being a sexy gun simulator without...being a fully functional game first.
Or as one commenter in the video pointed out, games like these are equivalent to those old iPhone apps that let you pretend fire and reload guns on your phone
The big lag at the beginning when you get to an area is due to the fact that it's the very first time you enter the area and it has to charge, but once you load you won't have any more lag

But like we have to face the facts Tarkov has been in development for ages. This is brand new from a unheard of company.
For all we know this game will never get fixed properly we just don't know we don't have a track record to go on.

I'm honestly tired of devs hiding behind endless excuses/lies for not fixing anything. "Early Access (which it will never leave)," "This trailer is definitely the gameplay you can expect," "Just one dev!" Don't endlessly mislead people and over-hype your game if you know for a fact you can't deliver on those promises.
That said, I'm equally fed up with the usual youtubers who _also_ endlessly hype the games up knowing it can't deliver and not caring that they're all but being deceitful: LevelCapGaming, Operatordrewski, jackfrags, etc. They all use clickbait titles and endlessly overhype games while basically ignoring any problems with the game.

@@DatAsianGuy Yeah, have you looked at the video titles before the backlash? The videos were less than a month or so before the game released so they absolutely experienced the issues then as well.
And yet most of the titles of their videos are some variation of, "THIS COULD BE THE TARKOV KILLER!!!!"
So yeah, I absolutely place some blame for the backlash on them.

I streamed 10 hours with minimal issues for day 1 alpha maybe curve expectations
Anyone remember how long it takes to play tarkov on wipe day or beginning of wipe when it's actually still populated? The past 3 wipes I wouldn't start until a minimum of 2 weeks after wipe because it basically didn't work. Desync, frame drops, infinite queue, stuck hands, cheaters, infinite raid load times, etc... I'd say the majority of the online games I've played day 1 have ran much worse. These dudes are just shitting on it because they're either really not understanding what early access is and weren't around at the beginning of Tarkov or any wipes. I played for about 8.5 hrs yesterday and all I was doing was exploring. Had a blast and if I play an hr and a half longer(I'm gonna play much more than that), I'll have paid 3.50 an hr for entertainment.... I'm cool with that... I'm actually upgrading to the highest tier just cause I enjoy being around for the development. I think they're going to learn from Tarkovs mistakes, especially when it comes to listening to the community.

I have spent 10+ hours playing this game and I absolutely love it. Yes the optimization isn’t good and needs lots of help but if you use the FRS setting with frame generation you will DOUBLE your fps. I have a 3080 and a 5950x and with FRS enabled I get 100-120 fps. Also this game is legit 20% completed and has TONS of promise. The hate is crazy

the content creator beta was unfinished, i knew it would be like this the moment they announced it. they wanted to use the eft outrage to get positive attention, but that doesnt work when the early access you release is unplayable.
The game was planned for a release date earlier, but got delayed to this date. This happened way before any EFT drama.
There's over 50k people playing, myself included, it is playable.

Hey slorgs lag and the FPS goes away overtime sometimes if you play for longer periods of time, I think it’s a shade or optimization when you first download the game so you need to play a while so it finishes
I was so faithful and full of goodwill, had so many crashes with valuable gear lost and hard earned mission progression lost.
Tried again so many times with better performance settings.
It keeps crashing at random, sometimes even in the base where I have 70 frames in stead of 55.
It is not only super shallow and empty but literally not even playable…
So it’s not even Early Access because, I can’t even access it.😂
They shouldn’t have released it or the price should have been 10 dollars max. Rn it is Early Garbage with a lot of potential.
When it’s not crashing I have fun, until all your gear and progress is erased again at random.
Don’t play it unless you have a NASA computer or don’t mind killing yourself.

7950X3D and 7900XTX - 5120x1440, 150-180 FPS on Low, 110-150 FPS on Medium, FSR Quality for both. Hope that helps some people.

I bought the game a few days ago thinking, it wouldn't be that bad. Oh yes it was: Game crashed as soon as I got out the heli, so I couldn't even get near the town.
The game blue screened when trying to change a setting. Never ever has that happened in any other game.
Glitches and bad performances asides, the biggest sin of this game is that it feels...souless and boring? It has no identity and feels like the average MILSIM asset flip.

What's so bad about it though? Have you even played it, or are you just parroting what your favorite youtuber said? I see so many people hating and saying the game is DOA (which is hilarious considering it's literally been out for a single day) but the only actual complaints I've seen are all related to things like AI, economy balance, network and optimization issues, all things that can easily be tweaked and ironed out, and they have plenty of time to do so. I have yet to see anyone make a concrete complaint about anything that can't easily be changed as testing continues.

This game is absolutely amazing. I love it. I ran into very few issues and my gameplay for the most part has been very smooth. Have came across a few disconnects but that’s all I had an issue with. The game is beautiful and immersive when playing solo or with friends.

Yeah I got 7 years of service from BSG since playing Tarkov. 3 new maps, new guns, bosses, expansions on older maps, a whole arena mode, and offline COOP PVE. Were just to custom to the usual way of big studios shoving DLC and battle pass. The overwhelming negativity towards its is sad. And for grayzone to drop in this state and bank off the Tarkov drama, I can’t respect that. I’ll be back to see where the game is when the hype dies down. In Ground Zero, there are sings everywhere that say there is Radiation, but there is no radiation, you won't take damage and there is absolutly nothing acsept trees.

Thank you for keeping it real on this title slogs I couldn’t believe when I watched other Big RUclips creators do the walk-through with the Dev’s and try and show some kind of forced excitement on this title and subsequent videos of them show it looking absolutely terrible yet them saying it has promise I knew from the start of this title does not have any promise. It looks terrible and you’re the first creator I’ve seen that has called it out. I came to this channel for the hilarious squad action but I’ll stay for you being able to call shit, shit.

yeah, he buys and plays a realistic early access tactical extraction shooter and then is suprised it actually takes the word "realism" quite seriously.
I think it's also important to understand that many people were upset the game was only playable by some content creators. However that doesn't mean that I think they should have released this game so soon, it requires a lot more work especially on the optimization front before people consider it decent.

I remember commenting in a video saying that this game looked cool but it would probably have a lot of problems and that it would probably fail just like the other “tactical” games that release unfinished but I wanted to be proven wrong and one of the devs called me an idiot because i had no expectation and didn’t deserve playing the game since I was a hater (all of this happened just after the release of the day before so I had zero expectations)

I don't know why people went in expecting quality from yet another generic modern warfare laser tag FPS. It's the most soulless and overdone thing in the history of gaming with virtually nothing to separate one game in the 'tactical' genre from another, and hilariously tactics never exist anyway because the gunplay is so forgiving that teamwork never has a chance to even breathe.
If I see a marine-ranger-SEAL-Delta man with an M4 in a game, I just assume it's boring and half-assed at this point.

@@johnernest5843 I remember when the 2000's were wrapping up and the modern warfare games were first starting to really churn out with BF2 and CoD4 getting the ball rolling, and thinking to myself that surely the industry wouldn't just do the same exact thing that happened with all the WW2 spam that ran FPS into the dirt.

People really watched the reviews that were suspiciously only given to like the biggest and most notable “Gamer RUclipsrs” (Which will say anything is good for $) and then bought it. Then complained.
They really bought into this whole early access shit. I learned my lesson this past 2 years. I can wait, I enjoy watching these dumpster fires

This isnt intentional design, it's a bug that was fixed with the early access version of the game, you're showing old footage.

Nothing about the detailed terminal ballistic system has anything to do with bugs that prop up during a game thats early in development, this was a really odd point and makes no sense minor bugs are expected.

Marketing is intended to sell its proposed products in the best light possible, to literally oversell, thats the intention, unless anything in the marketing material was not in the game currently then i'd agree but everything they have shown is in the game, just not fully complete or polished due to its EA state, you're judging the game for not delivering on its intended promise which is to be completed during EA development.
At the end of the day, no one, including yourself, has a universally accepted standard for what state games should be in Early Access, it's just expecting it to be abraitariliy "good enough" but that could be different from person to person which it is and seems to be the case. I get you still need the gags but this just felt like an awful review.
