Yep! - And the accent. Was wondering whether he was a bloody Kiwi, but no, the main singer's a Brisbanite (so, *nearly* as good as a Kiwi)! - But cereally, nice natural BS-free writing, singing, and playing. Looking forward to listening again and to hearing more soon.
It’s weird how things work. Just yesterday I heard Lens “steal my sunshine “ again after like 15 years. Feeling nostalgic I decided to look up and watch their video last night which was filmed in my hometown of Daytona, which I never knew. Now I get this notification and I’m listening and they cover “Steal my sunshine “. Crazy
These guys are brilliant! I love finding things like this. Gives me hope. They seem firmly on the shoulders of Joy Division and maybe more recently The National. Love it.
Hope for what? The oceans being less full of plastic and pollutants? Imminent climate collapse being averted? The USA abandoning the private prisons and embracing restorative justice? There's so much multimedia being produced today that if someone can't find something new that they like, they're lazy or stupid.
Haven't heard stuff like this since the new wave scenes of the 80s and 90s. Nice performance, too. Great to see some kids jamming with instruments and playing live. We need more of this. More people, less computers. ;)

30 seconds in and just sublime - music that exists within an authentically 80s dark aural realm without being derivative; it also feels entirely contemporary as it should. In short a great discovery! Love the name as well, only artists I’ve known up til now w “goon” in their name are electronic/idm folks. Goon is a great word ;) -Thank you KEXP 🖤🖤

All these people commenting about the singer's choice of wardrobe should seriously consider rethinking their medieval views. I mean why do you even care? Should women stop wearing pants again? Why do you even care? Men have been wearing dresses or dress-like pieces of clothing since always. Should boys only play with blue toys and girls with pink? Who makes these decisions and what for? I mean seriously I don't go around commenting on people's choice of wardrobe wtf. Music is good btw

@Good Goy that's not cognitive dissonance. Of course I don't mind if women wear pink or men play with "manly" toys and of course a trans person can wear whatever they want to as well. You could call it cognitive dissonance if i would have a problem with men doing "manly" things while on the other hand also having a problem with trans people doing "manly" things (for example). But i just don't get why people would have a problem with others not dressing or behaving like they expect them to.
