There's another hairstylist here on RUclips who hates these ponytails DIYs. He fails to understand that many of us don't do it because we're tight-fisted, we do it because we can't find a hairstylist who understands, in my case, that I want to wear my wavy/curly hair au naturale. I know that I use creams and gels, so nothing's totally natural, but I want to wear my texture. I don't want to bother with flatirons, blowouts, Brazilian smoothing, etc. I want to have a nice volume with a good haircut. I understand that the DIY doesn't equal a professional haircut, but it works for me! I've done three of your DIYs and they really keep my hair tidy and organized. As you say, it's "balanced". I love layers. That's my disagreement with many hairstylists I come across.
Edit: I haven't cut my hair in 4 months since the last DIY and it's still looking nice.
