In this video we test 3 different driver shaft flexes and take a look at the numbers on GC Quad. We also discuss what we look for during a fitting and why.
Good stuff 👍 hope you had a good Christmas. I was changed from the Alta stiff to the Alta tour when I had my G400 driver after a playing lesson. Looking back, I don't know if I should have or not. Felt like much harder work, and probably changed how I was trying to swing... got myself in a right pickle with it.
Hey Yanis, had you in for a fitting today mate! 😅 Great to meet you pal. But yeah if any change ever increases effort significantly then it's most likely not the right move to make. Especially with driver! Always has to feel right
Great content and info, thanks! I have a swing speed of around 105mph, and would love you have a guest or a separate sample at a more average swing speed.
Interesting results. Thanks for the great content. I've been interested in experimenting with increasing weight in rear of driver head (and counter weighting to maintain swing weight). I think I can even maintain total weight of club by using extra light shaft. What has been your experience with moving CG rearward in head - higher ball flight and more forgiving? Thanks!
Thanks bud! Why would you be thinking specifically to the rear? Yes placing more weight at the back of the club would generally produce a little more lead deflection at impact and add a little dynamic loft. Therefore increasing launch and spin a touch. Think you would have to add quite a bit to make any significant and noticeable difference though. What is your reasoning behind wanting to do that, what will you be trying to achieve?
Thanks Ian. Well that generally is my shot to be fair, no matter where I am 😂 id be hitting pulls I'm sure even on a range. That hole just set up perfectly for my pull draw shot for this specific test. Don't feel it influenced the data at all though as it was pretty consistent. Think any test with a range ball is not completely pointless but really want to be using premium balls in any testing we do for consistency and accuracy.
Yeah we love a low spin bomber! Low spin will always travel furthest aslong as it's not too low! And Foresight is known for maybe over estimating the distance of some of the low spin shots too so have to take it with a pinch of salt sometimes when the spin gets really low
@@WeimaranersAreTheBest depends what brand you are talking about. Some keep the same CPM throughout any weight and some will just add weight which will make it play slightly stiffer in the heavier weights. Either way the difference in terms of launch and spin will be extremely minimal. Shafts are an interesting one really. Videos on them are generally a little pointless to be completely honest. Because any shaft when hit out the middle will basically do the same thing. Unless introducing other variables alongside such as more head weight or longer length ect. It all comes down to the player and the ability to strike the ball consistently, that's pretty much shaft. The numbers all come from the head. Even weight..some people would assume lighter you can swing faster but it doesn't always pan out that way.
thanks for great video, greetings from Ireland

Ditto this question! Curious if you'd fit your clients to stiff or xstiff at this club head speed. It's a weird grey area below faster speeds of 110+

do. you have review of the blue one? thanks
I would like to see this on a range so you aren’t hitting massive pulls. With that said you know your stuff and it’s well presented

What was the length and swingweight?
Length was all 45" and all around D1 mate
Would you take that shot on (line) on the course?
100% 😅😅
I noticed all your longest had spin of 2200 or less.

That is speed and power
More importantly, what weight in these flexes
All 55's. Which I do say within the first minute of the video 👀😂😂
@@epgolfstudios no no
What I meant is flex in different weights is more important.
Try the same test in 55-75 weight
See if much difference

@@epgolfstudios ok thanks.
Trial on error I guess
I just recently bought lead tape
Might try that too
100% fitting is all trial and error. Theory can sometimes work but it's rare
Weight of shaft grams?
The are all 55, but as is say in the video the reg is 57 the stiff is 60 and the X is 62 but that is Raw so they will be less at playing length
It all comes down to fell
