One of my ultimate favourite Japanese comfort dishes.
Prawn Katsu: Crispy and light breadcrumbs on the outside of plump and juicy prawns. Served with an aromatic, classic Japanese curry sauce and fluffy white rice.
Please try this at home, its so easy to make and the whole family will love it!!!!!

INGREDIENTS
for the curry (3-5 portions depending on appetite) :
medium onion x 1/2
butter x 25g
instant curry mix x 92g
water x 720ml
for the prawns (3 pieces):
panko breadcrumbs x 50g
prawns x 3
salt and white pepper - to taste
plain flour x 50g
large egg x 1
INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO COOK RICE IN A POT
- Follow the instructions in the video on how to wash rice
or if using musenmai rice, there's no need to wash
- Once the rice is washed and drained, place into a heavy-bottom pot with a tight fitted lid.
- For 3 cups of rice (as shown in this video) approx. 540 grams, use 600ml of water.
- Soak the rice in the water for at least 30 minutes before cooking
- Close the lid and bring to a boil on a medium heat
- Once boiling, turn the heat to a low and cook for approx 12-14 minutes or until water has disappeared (with the lid on)
- Remove from the heat source and allow to steam cook for 10 minutes with the lid on

delicious! but I got a question... why don't you include small potatoe and carrot cubes to the curry aswell? I thought onion, carrot and potatoe is like holy trinity of japanese curry
Thanks alot mate. When I make a beef or vegetable curry, I’ll add potatoes and carrots but when I make a katsu curry, I like to keep the sauce simple as I find it quite heavy otherwise. By all means you can add if you wish...

try this prawn reciepe , grind one onion and add some oil (2 tbsp) on a pan than add some sugar to that than add the onion paste and saute it till light golden than add some ginger garlic paste and saute it for 2 mins than add some curry spices powder and a little bit of chilly powder to it and add 1 tomato curry cutted to it , now take the prawn add some turmeric powder and salt to it and than shallow fry it on a pan till golden now add the prawn into the curry mix and give 2 small cup of water add some salt and boil it with high flame and than slow down the flame and cook it for 10 mins and your prawn curry is ready with great taste. enjoy it with rice.

Days like these I wish my kids and wife liked curry so I could make this. I find your trust in pre-washed rice interesting. I always wash it anyways, I don't trust Nishkin 😁
