This is weird but I usually hate watching people eat, and especially hate hearing chewing. But Chef Dai and Maangchi are two RUclips cooks that I actually like seeing enjoy the fruits of their labor. I think it's the look of pure joy they both get from eating the delicious food they've cooked. I absolutely love Japanese and Korean food, and that's primarily what I cook at home.
Aww, thanks so much. I really appreciate your kind words 😘
So happy to see you back now, great recipe BTW.
I'll try it this weekend!
Thank you as always!!
Definitely going to give it a try soon! Thank you
I love Japanese food. I’m

Wow amazing recipe very nice video 👌👌 good work #thevillagefood
Ohhh yes please going to have to do this one
Looks so delicious yummy 😋 i like your recipe
Looks fantastic. Definitely one to try this weekend.
I couldn’t wait until the weekend - I made this tonight and the family loved it! I used to grill my chicken and try paint on the teriyaki sauce, but I found that your method of frying the chicken was easier & tastier. And I loved the spinach & sesame. Many thanks.
Wow Dai that's great...
I made it today and it was really delicious! Thanks for sharing the recipe!
Thanks so much Pin 😘
Wow! You’re really on a roll here. Great dishes one after another. Looking forward for more😁
Thanks so much 🙏
Looks so delicious. 🤤 I‘ll definitely give it a try!
Just one little thing: If it‘s not too much of a hassle, I‘d very much appreciate a list of ingredients in the video descriptions (in general).
Truly glad to see you back
Thanks so much Matthew, much appreciated
I'm very happy you come back... Thank you Chef.
Thanks so much

Chef Dai please stay with RUclips for good! Your recipes are seriously the best!
Cheers Jon, that means a lot to us 🙏
Kimchi ,as an accompaniment is stunning I think...
Great 👍
Yum!!!!!!!!!!
Oh now that looks very very tasty! Another one to add to my list to try 😄👍
Edited to say; the spinach would work well as a bento side dish. Yum, itadakimasu!
Thanks Susan, I particularly enjoyed eating this one, despite the heat in the kitchen.
Very true, might have to add this to the bento boxes at my restaurant...thanks!
Cooking with Chef Dai i am definitely coming to London for a visit when this madness settles down!
Alright, that looks delicious. Now I want some!
As a small suggestion, even though it is a very basic topic, can you do something on Rice. Do you use Japanese imports or whatever is available in London? I live in a more rural US area but I can get access to Calrose which is great. Different types of rice varieties and cooking styles might really help you international audience!
I hear you mate. I am thinking about doing a video on Japanese food ingredient essentials and rice. Thanks for the suggestion and feedback! It’s invaluable to us 🙏
@@CookingwithChefDai That would be wonderful. I never know if something is a good quality Japanese ingredient. I mostly just hope I can find something similar to what I see on youtube!
I am making in few days 😁
That is one amazing looking donburi! Once again I find myself watching you make delicious food when it's already quite late, but luckily I have rice to finish, fresh beansprouts I can quickly blanch and dress with the same seasonings as your spinach, and some roast pork to top it with, so I'm going to make a donburi of my own 😁👍 [may even fry an egg to go with it and drizzle on bbq sauce from one of Chin & Choo's recipes!]
Thanks so much Dave. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Another great recipe! Definitely going to try it soon! Please keep up the good work! It'll be great if you could a gyudon recipe too!
Thanks so much Jerrick. I appreciate the encouragement very much. We’ve actually made a gyudon video before, please have a look under “home recipes” playlist.
@@CookingwithChefDai Found it! What about ramen or other fish dishes? I really liked the teriyaki salmon recipe, I was wondering if there are other dishes you can make with salmon
Jerrick T not yet other salmon dishes but will make in the future. I’ve literally got hundreds of recipes still in my mind, just have to find the time to film and upload 😂
Cooking with Chef Dai Haha yea, but it’s really great to have you active again! :)
You did it again chef!😛 I hope one of these days you can come up with a video on kakiagedon. Give me deep fried anything and I will gobble it up🤣.
Thanks so much and yes, kakiage is one of my favourites. Consider it done 🙏
Hi Dai...
Love the way you demonstrate us how delicious it is, cute...
As always, your foods are simple, savory, good looking like the chef ❤️
☺️
Yes G, killing it
Cheers homie
Looks savory! What was the las thing you put before the nori at the bro last end?
Sorry mate, can’t see which video your comment relates to. I’m looking at your comment from an app.
thanks for answering. I refer to the yakitori donburi rove bowl. There's a last ingredient you add but I didn't see you mention.
The whole dish looks tasty!
3MasterG I see. The ingredient before nori was “cabbage kimchi”. Completely optional in my eyes but still delicious. Thanks a lot 🙏
This is a very interesting variation of Yakitori dishes. I will definitely try it out. Just one question. Do Japanese people eat spinach in that way too? The recipe is the same as my mom(Korean).
Thanks so much. Actually the spinach is a Korean dish, well noticed. I think Korean food and especially their side dishes and pickles are some of the best, really delicious!!!
Lovely video - favourite part - When you wonder why the fact of it being 40degC was highlighted ... then see the blurred out portion in the metal bowl reflection 😂
😂 I know, a little embarrassing having my naked body on show when i editing the video. Thanks God I managed to blur it out!!!!
I'm trying to have "glug" submitted to the General Conference on Weights and Measures for inclusion in the International System of Units, but I don't know to what category I should place it. Is it a unit of mass or volume? Is it a multiple of the kilogram or does one have to measure the space it occupies?
Haha, that’s hilarious Wilfred. I love using measurements like “glug” and “pinch”. Glug is onomatopoeic and I would consider it as a unit of volume 😂
🍽
It looks so yummy.
Could you please make gohan without a suihanki?
Thanks, I will try in the future
ok making this
Hi Dai..
Luckily I found your videos and get inspiration to cook Japanese dish. Could you please please allow me to get access to watch your “ Teriyaki sauce” 🙏
Keep 'em coming, I loved your teriyaki tortillas. Shame it's so hard to find boneless chicken thighs that's not in a pack of 8 or 10 here in Germany.
Can you portion and then freeze the boneless chicken thighs?
@@MrLGDUK I guess I could squeeze them in there. I only have that little freezer compartment that is part of the fridge.
Before or after frying them?
@@urishima I would recommend setting aside enough chicken to make a double portion, then portion the rest and freeze so you only have to defrost what you'll use. Cook the double portion and save half in the fridge for the following day. I'm lucky to have plenty of freezer space but it wasn't always so - I absolutely understand how challenging it is with a tiny freezer compartment!
Great advice Dave! Thanks 🙏
Easy to make, perfect for singles 👍
That scissors technique is genius!
Thanks, looks so simple but very effective. I’ve seen so many chefs struggle to cut nori in professional kitchens in the past.....
@@CookingwithChefDai i tried it chef..almost had an accident but i did it haha
al katraz yes, be careful 😂
I’m a Dai hard fan 😀
what corner icon for the recipe for the teriyaki sauce? I'm on a desk top
Click on the “I” icon in the corner and the teriyaki video should drop down
done like
I can’t find the link to teriyaki sauce recipe..😟
Which country are is there?
made the mistake of watching before bed, now my stomach is growling.
😂 I know what your mean. I always find myself watching these types of videos before sleep too
Did anybody find the recipe for the teriyaki sauce?
Robbie Hong tap on the ”i” top right of screen, takes you straight to it 👍

Just incase you cant access the link for some reason! Hope that helps 😃
Thanks Susan 🙏
Teriyaki sauce has always been a weird sauce for me as I've always felt it was over utilized in the Western world and watered down the Japanese food experience around the world. But I gotta say, you make it seem super enticing here :D
Thanks mate. To be honest with you, I really love teriyaki sauce but not everyday. Hope you’re well mate
Cooking with Chef Dai I’ll give it a go. It’s been long over due! Likewise, man. 👹
at least now i have the chicken thigh out the fridge 😎
FYI: Spicy Kimchi is Korean. Not Japanese.
My pants are getting tight
😂
Chef Dai.
I would like to see you mix your content up. More carving up fish and knife work. More of a focus on interesting ingredients. More story telling and less recipes.
For sure, thanks for the suggestions. I agree, I would like to do some other type of videos soon. Once my restaurant is open, I will have more options to do other videos there. Thanks for watching
@@CookingwithChefDai Some other ideas is Chef Dai eating Italian food, Korean food, etc etc and giving your opinion on what you like from different cuisines.
Top noodle dishes of Japan vs Top noodle dishes from Italy etc.
Glad to see your restaurant is opening!
