The 2022 Grand Vitara Strong Hybrid's dimensions are identical to the Mild Hybrid. The SUV measures 4,345 mm in length, 1,795 mm in width, 1,645 in height, It has a thermal efficiency of 40 per cent and the powertrain works in tandem with a 79 PS and 141 Nm producing electric motor, connected to an e-drive transmission. It is mated only to a CVT automatic transmission sending power to the front wheels. At the same time, Suzuki’s AllGrip AWD system with multiple drive modes will be available with the mild hybrid engine.
The Grand Vitara marks Maruti's long-awaited entry into the mid-sized SUV segment. Jointly developed with the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, the Grand Vitara is Maruti's answer to the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor and Nissan Kicks. Yes my dear the moment battery is unable to support the 90 ps petrol engine with 120 nm torque will struggle too much to take you uphill with 4-5 people in the vehicle

1. What is the maximum speed in EV only mode and eco mode? I have heard engine starts after 25kmph speed, is that true?
2. What is the range in fully charged EV mode?
1. Engine will start whenever the car feels you need more power or your battery is getting drained out, it has nothing to do with speeds in at least the 0-100 range. You can drive on EV Mode if you're cruising at 40 or 60.
2. About 2-2.5 Kms at best.

@@varun8765 The battery recharges itself on braking and the engine first charges the battery which powers the tire during normal speeds 0-100. Above 100 the engine while also charging the battery, gives some power directly to the wheels as well. But this is not necessarily the situation, it might do that whenever you press the paddle hard. This whole system will get you a better mileage but yes you're right, solely on EV mode you won't drive long distances, but then you're not buying an EV vehicle, you're buying a Hybrid.

What if they give 1ltr turbo engine with strong hybrid where power and milage both would have achieved
Maruti and Toyota don't have a 1.0 Turbo Engine facility in India. Also, turbo gives less mileage in real life scenario.

Maruti should have plonked 800 cc turbo diesel engine of celerio along with hybrid. That would have been a masterstroke.

@@AskCarGuru Thanks for giving all the info about this new car and replying questions promptly. There have been news of electric scooters catching fire. However I have not heard of tata EV catching fire. Also I read about Li-ion batteries more prone to catch fire if exposed to high temp. Some people say that cars have some cooling system for these batteries. Summers in north can go upto 50 degree C hence the worry.

Creta petrol is for good for a person not mean diesel will be a good choice same with Astor, seltos, kushaq, taigun, hyryder and grand vitara.
