- Though Maruti Suzuki is late to the compact SUV party, the Grand Vitara aims to please people with its multiple powertrain options - a full-hybrid, a mild hybrid manual, a mild hybrid automatic and an AWD. While the prices are yet to come out, we expect it to be priced quite aggressively against its rivals. While its platform and the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder engine are from Suzuki, Toyota has given its 1.5-litre 3-cylinder engine with its full-hybrid setup to Suzuki. The vehicle is jointly developed by Suzuki and Toyota. So in a way, it's the same as Hyryder. We tell you everything about it in this video.

I think even if suzuki manages to launch fortuner sized SUV they'll still give you 1.5 dualjet NA as engine option, with 5 speed gearbox and 6 speed AT. Its a good refined engine no doubt but who are enthusiats whose right leg is heavy, they won't like it. That'll hamper sales as well in the log run.

OG Grand Vitara was having 2393 CC 164 BHP engine. Now look at this. 1500 cc 103 BHP. What an upgrade!!!
Exactly, What the hell is wrong with Suzuki, its just a bare minimum for an AWD yo pull its own weight! Its not at all meant for off roading.. It has less torque than some of the hatchback , and sub compact SUVs, which are below its segment.
On that note I love mahindra, atleast they're giving powerful engines

I think you are confused with allwheel drive and 4x4. You said only 2 wheel works if the lock bottom is not activated. But the lock bottom is only for activation of differential lock of the wheel to distribute equipment power during individual wheel spining.
Never said what you have written. I clearly said ki agar lock button dabaoge toh power distribution 50:50 hoga front and rear axles dono ko.
@@ICN 06.40 since you mentioned its not always AWD. You are confused with hybrid or 4x4. AWD are always on AWD, if you active the LOCK bottom or not. Its always on AWD. LOCK bottom is just to activate differential locking of the wheel. Being a reviewer your should know what you are reviewing

I think this is the first Suzuki with rear wheels powered, definitely the first 4WD/AWD
No few years earlier global grand virara had launched with all capabilities but it was a flop that time because nobody wanted 4wd. Also it was a CBU so it was costly too for that time

the torque is a bit low... so maruti should give AWD in breeza as it will have better power and torque to weight ratio.. also the approach and departure angle is better in breeza

Both Grand Vitara and Hyryder uses Suzuki's proven Global C platform like the previous S-cross. The S cross(6 airbag varient) scored 5 stars in Euro NCAP(which has higher testing standard than Global NCAP)
The previous S-Cross(1st gen) was co-developed with Fiat and their 'Sedici' shares the common platform. They had the Euro NCAP's 4 star rating.

Easier said than done. Not sure if the camera has been able to capture it well, but most so-called SUVs might stuck in such situations. Also in that slushy surface even many rear-wheel drive SUVs would fail without a mechanical locking differential or a 4x4. We have seen that happen on several occasions.
