Which case do you use with your Z Fold 3?
One factor to consider is how you get your ebooks to read on your e-ink devices. In my case, I read a lot of books through my local library, so I need a device which has access to Libby and/or Overdrive. That’s actually why I moved to Kobo from Amazon a few years ago since Kobo owns Overdrive and bakes it into their e-readers. The next best option for me is an Android e-ink device, so companies like Onyx who use Android as their OS are where I’ve switched to, starting with the Note Air 3C.

I have many e-ink devices but I have to say for weeks I've continued to be obsessed with my Boox Tab Mini C with color. Boox Palma is a close second. I guess I'm just loving the Boox Onyx universe. :)

I'd like it if you did a video about BOOX, and what their support cycle is like when it comes to Android updates and, more importantly, security updates.
Traditionally, Chinese Android devices don't seem to care about updates at all. Is BOOX different?
Boox doesn't do android updates (like android 11 to android 12). They have a few feature updates per device that maybe include security, I'm not sure about that

I tried the Boox Note Air 3 c and I really did not liked the UI. Switched to Supernote Nomad and I found my product: Fast and snappy UI, the H.O.M. 2 pen also works very well and I can take notes on the go. The choice of the ideal e-ink table is personal..and difficult!

I would tell you perhaps the only one device that you'd like to have is the one which can carry out your work. For now I can say the one that have both eink and LCD in one device.
I’m surprised at how much I enjoy the Mobiscribe Origin. It’s small, has a Wacom layer and works pretty well for note taking and doodling. Reading books and comics is also great. It’s not powerful, battery is decent if you don’t use WiFi and other more demanding apps and it’s quite small and portable. Problem is it’s unsupported and has Android 8. I’m baffled that no manufacturer is going for a small form factor like this with a Wacom layer. So far I carry it everywhere and use my RM2 mainly at home…

How about the best stylus for an e-ink device. All the videos on this seem really out of date, or nothing new has come out in ages?
Now if the A5X2 came with a decent browser and Pogo pins... I think it could pull it off though Boox is always biting at everyone's heels.
You touched on it in the video with the Palma, but I've been looking for a pocket sized e-ink that I could carry while walking and take notes on, but there really isn't anything out there yet, the Bigme B751C just isn't going to slip easily into any pocket I walk in.
Yeah, I mean all the companies have somewhat migrated towards type, so it might make sense for them to go that way a little too. At least provide that option for folks. 🙂
for me, if there is like a palma, or a foldable and inside have a color kleido 3, and have (still thinking either an amoled outside screen) or a B&W e ink outside screen.

This was a great video. While I agree that you can minimize distractions on any device, I also think the experience on the Supernote is just excellent for what it is designed to do. I can do those things on other devices, but they aren't as enjoyable.

You should try a samsung 9 ultra tablet with a mat screen cover. It is OLED so screen is untouchable. It does everything and is great to write on with an Spen. Samsung notes is great. Xodo is amazing on it as well as effectively being a laptop with the keyboard case in Dex. It can do everything .

The only thing i want to do with a tablet is read books and take notes. When i had an ipad i would just take out my phone if i wanted to do something else. The kindle scribe is only good for reading books and taking notes, and it's cheap.

I was thinking of buying one for my autistic son, as a socially acceptable picture book reader with a little more umpfh.... he loves tech, but society judges me (his parents) and him, because they think screen time causes Autism. Which is ridiculous, and yes I have a degree in psychology, so internet Karens don't even try to convince me. My son loves games, photography, video, and video editing, and drawing (usually only on lcd screens- never on paper), he is amazing at drawing, too. But recently he has begun to do less and less of the creative stuff and watches too much youtube. So I was hoping this device could make all the other activities more interesting again, by making the youtube experience horrible ^^. I want to encourage his creative pursuits with technology, but discourage the passive consumption of dumb stuff. For lack of a better description of what most youtube/tiktok content caters to kids. Yes I can be critical of screen time aspects, but I hate throwing everything out with the bathwater, all at once. So - please tell me - in case you are still listening ^^ - which one should I buy? Sorry now I was rambling ;-p
@@KitBetts-MastersHey Kit! I really enjoy your videos but actually had a similar thought as above and would like to offer a bit of constructive feedback. What you did here is called burying the lead, where you answered the question in the title far into the video. This is really aggrevating for viewers who perhaps only have a couple minutes. It's also more effective for viewer retention to answer quickly because viewers will watch through if they're able (and come back for future videos) versus feeling anoyyed at the 5 minute mark and either gritting their teeth/skipping ahead to find out the answer, or stop watching entirely. It's generally better to use an inverted pyramid structure where you provide the answer to the title within the first minute, then expand with additional details and information. Hope this helps!

I think that we are conditioned in RUclips land to use the most attention grabbing title and then find ways to keep people viewing until the end. Many of my videos start with a TL:DR, which I think would resolve this issue in this video. But I think even better, is to pay off the lead reasonably quickly and then expand the video into areas of value that exceed the expectation. Thank Philip, appreciate having people like you in the audience!
