- That one time Scotland thought they could try colonizing Central America and failed miserably, forcing them to sign the act of union and become part of the United Kingdom.

The worst that can happen is that our colony will fail a we'll have to stop with our colonial ambitions.
Meanwhile: You invest so much in the colony, and it doesn't work out, that in order not to go bankrupt, you have to allow yourself to be subjugated by your greatest enemy.
😔
At this point, Scotland and England share a monarch, not really great enemies.
@@hobbabobba7912they are /were literally the definition of enemies, if it weren’t for the Darien scheme the union probably wouldn’t have happened . The act of union occupies a pretty small part of the history of the British isles. I don’t know if England would have respected Scotland enough to see it as a genuine enemy or adversary as opposed to an inconvenience or annoyance
No way this guy put among us as Great Britain on the world map

Great video, thank you.
Oh, but it gets better. In March 24th, 1603 queen Elizabeth I died childless and the throne of England passed to her cousin, king James VI of Scotland (and I of England), unifying the two . There was a bit of kerfuffle with the English civil war and king William of Orange but eventually, on March 8th, 1702, queen Anne became queen of England and Scotland. Just like her great-grandfather, the aforementioned king James VI and I of Scotland and England, she was a member of the Scottish house of Stuart and it was under her that the act of union of 1707 was passed. So, technically, when this whole scheme started Scotland was the senior member of the union between it and England. And they ended up not only losing their senior position but their independence as well. Well done!
Rip
Actually it was Scotland who proposed the Act of Union, not England
So if the Scottish didn’t try to colonize Central America, they could’ve been a independent country today?
Scotland had already been in a personal union with England and started speaking English for roughly 70ish years already. England was already a major power by this time and would only become stronger. Scotland would remain independent for longer but not until the modern day
Scotland had increasing ties with the English to this point and beyond. We cannot say with certainty but it seemed inevitable or at least likely.
Scotland was already in a personal union with England at the time, so probably not.
NICE!!! Another LoganProductions video! Cant wait to watch it.
Can't wait to see more HOI4 mods!
Such events like new Caledonia either become simplified jokes when it's a disaster
or become extra ammunition for those still holding on to believing 'great man theory' for when said event is proclaimed as a success.
There's a new mod called "judgement Day the aftermath of the red flood"

Where have the uploads gone?
And ironically now Scotland is being colonized by Arabs and Indians
I mean at least those Arabs and Indians are importing amazing food into Scotland like I do not really see myself pick Scottish food if I can have the option for Indian or Arabic cuisine
Also 1.4% of the Scottish population is Muslim/Arabic compared to 20% in Sweden so please shut your trap and do not make up nonsense that you are becoming a minority in your own country
Also mass assault of girls, you leftist support that though@@GwainSagaFanChannel
You don't know what irony means
@@nodruj8681
It is ironic. First Scotland tried colonizing other parts of the world, and now Scotland is the one being colonized.
