Hello Holly, Wonderful set of tips on simplifying and improving your life. I can whole heartedly agree with your point on the diet. For the past two months I have been traveling overseas with my business partner and his wife who are avid Keto diet devotees. I have been eating only what they put in front of me and I must say the results are really dramatic. They really only have a single meal a day which for me is primarily beef and tons of salad and green vegetables. The weight loss, improvement in quality of sleep and general sense of wellness is remarkable. The heavy content of sugar in all western processed foods contributes the alarming rate of inflammation which is the root cause of the epidemic of chronic diseases. I lost my wife of 31 years two years ago and she suffered from misdiagnosed glyphosate poisoning which we discovered only when it was too late. Before I close, I would strongly recommend that if you ever launch a Merchandise program that the first thing you offer is a line of coffee cups (however, I would guess you are actually drinking tea?). Your collection of mugs are very appealing. Warmest Regards, TimE
Thank you for sharing! I really do live a simple life and buy things in thrift stores as much as possible. The coffee cup in this episode is a thrift store purchase but it is a Wizard of Clay design. You might have luck finding one on Ebay

Everything you say Holly is so true. It is obvious that it works. You look like a very fit, healthy, beautiful 40 year old. You're a walking advertisement for a Simple Life. I do (try to do) all that you suggest and it is certainly not difficult to do so. It is so freeing to get rid of "stuff" and try and keep it that way. The only difficult part is dealing with people who don't understand that you don't want gifts etc. Experiences are what matters to me :)
Holly ,I agree with most of your things, But as a member of Management, one cannot always put family before work, unless of course you don't care if you get fired or replaced or passed over for promotions. One has to strike a balance that works for them whether you like it or not. For example, as a plant manager, I was on call 24 hours per day. If plant called at 1:00 in the morning with a really serious breakdown, I went to work. I remember missing some of my children's school functions and always tried to make up for it, but sometimes it became impossible. That balance is always precarious. I think that I achieved a somewhat good balance, but who knows for certain. My children all turned out responsible and successful, so who to say it didn't work. You do what you have to do for your Company and your job and many times are left with no choice. That is life.
Hello from North Carolina! I'm 67 and widowed, my wife passed away this past April 2024. Now live alone. Thanks so much for your videos and the time and effort you put into them. Take care and I look forward to seeing more!
Love your ideas about simplifying our lives! We recently downsized our home and announced to our adult kids and grandkids that we were going to cut way down on Christmas gifting this year(mind you, we're lucky if a gift comes our way.), but now our kids all think somethings wrong w/mom and dad's finances! Haha! I find myself explaining that we are just fine! We just want to retire soon, so we're saving towards that. How do you simplify w/out finding yourself constantly explaining your reasoning? I shouldn't have to explain to them, but at the same time, I don't want them to worry! I'm glad I found your channel and glad you mentioned thinning hair! I am going to the Dr for this tomorrow! I may try the gluten-free diet! Your hair looks beautiful and healthy!
I can relate as far as the adult children! I am also thinking about scaling back on the gifts this year. I am planning on doing a video on thinning hair and treatments that have worked for me.
I don’t see any downside to “explaining” your downsizing to your kids - you’re communicating with your loved ones about what’s going on in your life, which is what great families do! On the other topic - when my kids had been young adults for several years, I suggested we not exchange presents any more (didn’t want the stress of it anymore) and they were thrilled! Makes Christmas SUCH a relaxed family holiday for us.
Hi Holly, it's so true about not regretting working overtime. I accidentally scheduled someone for an appointment with my business for two weeks away instead of one week away and I'm glad I made the mistake because I have so much I need to do to prep for Thanksgiving and also just some self care time. I need to dye my hair again and other things before Thanksgiving. Also, I'm sure you've heard this before but you look a little like Jaqueline Kennedy, very pretty. Glad you're not settling for the duds on the dating apps lol
Thank you, that's so interesting because my brother and I were just talking last night about how people used to say my Mother looked like Jackie Kennedy! But honestly no one has ever told me that before
You are not the only one who is learning how to live a better life as you age. Setting yourself up as an example of the shining path forward? I feel these life lessons are learned from life experience.
Great advice. Really enjoying your videos. The song you mention is Harry Chapin’s “Cat’s in the Cradle.” And speaking of cats, they’re great at taking out, or at least locating, stink bugs.
I have a copy of her book, Simple Wisdom for Rich Living by the late Osceola McCarty of Mississippi. I met her on a book tour. Her book is amazing. She lived simple all her life, never driving or owning a car. And, she never married nor had children.. McCarty is also one of my favorite people............. she was a saver not a spender
In 2012 I was given this book as a birthday gift, Raw Food Made Easy for 1 or 2 People by Jennifer Cornbleet. We are not vegetarian or vegan, but will prepare some Raw food sometimes. I do sprout in my kitchen weekly for fresh greens......... growing micro greens too using spring water
Good job with camera placement. I was going to make a suggestion but it seems you figured it out yourself. The pros tend to keep the mouth in the center of the frame, not the eyes.
I am 57 now, was always in relationships and two marriages, got divorced the second time at the age of 48 - never dated again and am happier on my own as never before. I used to listen music all the time, now I love the silence an my "being on my own" I am enough to myself.
... and I have no family anymore, they all died pretty young and I have no kids, so there is no one to care about for me and I am still happy with my life
I am reading the book, FOOD FREEDOM: A Year of Growing and foraging 100 percent of My Food by Robin Greenfield with Alice Waters, 2024. Robin is car free and he is walking from Canada to Los Angeles CA 😂🎉😂....... Never married and no kids, Greenfield is amazing 🎉🎉🎉
It’s not “gluten intolerance.” It is toxic glyphosate on the wheat that they use to desiccate it. Buy organic, Italian flour products. Otherwise, very wise advice.
I can relate to lack of sleep. I am gluten intolerant. Recently, I started eating cupcakes with tons of sugar plus ice cream. Not sure why other than saying I feel pretty good these days. What a mistake. Awake all night with stomach rumbling, aches all over. I'm kicking myself & can't help but think I'm weak. Those icing topped cupcakes taste SO good. Back to square one. Also my hair is thinning with strands (not clumps like yours) falling out. Have to vacuum up all the hairs around my house. Thanks for your pep talk. Glad I'm not alone in all of this. There is a solution we gotta stick to.❤❤
I "PRACTICE DYING" every day, it's that simple, yea? "EVERY WISH FULFILLED" ET. ......................................You'll like this song; "Peaceful Place" by LEON BRIDGES...ENJOY.........................
Want to simplify your life, forgive people, remember, you have probably offended them as well, perhaps they are calling you toxic, or narcissistic (although no one here is a trained phycologist, so I'm wonder how one is making these 'diagnoses'. Oh, I know, the internet! Caught! Simplify the voices in your head, saying everyone else is the problem, not you! Seek wisdom from the bible, many ways are told to stay out of trouble. Find peace with God. Let things go, instead of making drama. People are valuable, not garbage to be tossed away. Care. Hope. Love.
And the cats in the cradle and the silver spoon little boy blue and the man in the moon when ya comin home dad I don't know when ... we'll get together then you know we'll have a good time then....
Simplify my life. I've pretty much have done that my entire existence. I buy what i need, not particularly what i want. And i try to buy it on sale if possible. My last 2 cars i bought base models with 2 options. The current car, the color and the heated seats. Which i paid for in full before i drove it home. I was given 4 snow blowers. I got rid of one, and fixed up the others for dirt cheap. After this season I'll probably let someone else have one. I don't need 3. Some people confused me living simply and frugal as I'm cheap. I don't care. All my bills are paid in full every month, i don't hold any outside debts, and my credit scores are over 800. When i vacation, i can go anywhere at a moments notice. I have no animals to worry about and no vet bills. I'm looking forward to retirement in the next few years, but downsizing will not be an issue for me. I don't have much to move.
Simplistic advice that is unrealistic. If you're a drug addict, alcoholic, sugar addict, messy and watch the news, her advice is to just stop it. Her voice is yrating.
@@annetteouellet995 That's not the point! This is ridiculous "advice" as if someone on drugs, alcohol, etc could just quit. I don't have those problems but telling people to just stop is ridiculous and too deep a societal issue for this bland show.
My father quit smoking cold turkey forty-six years ago, so it is possible for people to beat an addiction if they have a significant motivator to change their behavior. In his case, it was watching his father die of lung cancer. Whether outside help is needed or not, it's still up to the person to decide to change the behavior to reduce the likelihood of relapse.

I'm simple man - when I hear some simple advice, life is simpler 😄
Great advice. Really enjoying your videos. The song you mention is Harry Chapin’s “Cat’s in the Cradle.” And speaking of cats, they’re great at taking out, or at least locating, stink bugs.
Lol, my one cat, Phil, is obsessed with bugs of any kind!
I have a copy of her book, Simple Wisdom for Rich Living by the late Osceola McCarty of Mississippi. I met her on a book tour. Her book is amazing. She lived simple all her life, never driving or owning a car. And, she never married nor had children.. McCarty is also one of my favorite people............. she was a saver not a spender
aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
The song is called Cats in the Cradle. Love your channel.
Great video today , thanks
Sound advice - thumbs up
Cat Steven, "Cat's In the Cradle" love that song. Blessings to you from Texas.
Thank you!
Thanks Holly great advice
The song is ‘the cat ‘s in the cradle’ by the wonderful and the late Long Islander-Harry Chapin.
Great tips! Thnx😊
Love your blouse, do you have a link?
I actually bought it in a thrift store, but the brand is Chicos

A friend is a person that will lay down his or her life for you trust in the lord. ❤❤❤❤
The song you made reference to is I think is called The Cat’s in the Cradle.
Hi Holly. I'm happy to have found your videos. Btw, your voice sounds a lot like Linda Ronstadt's (speaking of course. I've never heard you sing!).
Lol, I can't sing a note and believe me you don't want to hear it. Thank you though
My goodness my comment was lost. I enjoyed you video. Thank you for sharing this with us. 💕NonnaGrace 🐓
Great advice in this video, thank you for sharing.
Another uplifting video! My wife and I are living incredible lives.
Good job with camera placement. I was going to make a suggestion but it seems you figured it out yourself. The pros tend to keep the mouth in the center of the frame, not the eyes.
What about a toxic spouse? Negative every single day… its very draining.
Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10
I am 57 now, was always in relationships and two marriages, got divorced the second time at the age of 48 - never dated again and am happier on my own as never before. I used to listen music all the time, now I love the silence an my "being on my own" I am enough to myself.
... and I have no family anymore, they all died pretty young and I have no kids, so there is no one to care about for me and I am still happy with my life
With all that you've been through you still choose positivity, thank you so much for sharing some of your story
Good outlook
Pretty lady
Hello Thomas, How are you doing today?
It’s not “gluten intolerance.” It is toxic glyphosate on the wheat that they use to desiccate it. Buy organic, Italian flour products. Otherwise, very wise advice.
I have been really curious about this. Would you mind sharing where you purchase this product or the brand?
There is a solution we gotta stick to.❤❤
I too have fallen off the wagon and live to regret it! Thanks for sharing
I "PRACTICE DYING" every day, it's that simple, yea? "EVERY WISH FULFILLED" ET. ......................................You'll like this song; "Peaceful Place" by LEON BRIDGES...ENJOY.........................

Good one
Want to simplify your life, forgive people, remember, you have probably offended them as well, perhaps they are calling you toxic, or narcissistic (although no one here is a trained phycologist, so I'm wonder how one is making these 'diagnoses'. Oh, I know, the internet! Caught! Simplify the voices in your head, saying everyone else is the problem, not you! Seek wisdom from the bible, many ways are told to stay out of trouble. Find peace with God. Let things go, instead of making drama. People are valuable, not garbage to be tossed away. Care. Hope. Love.
Good points, thank you
Boy! Do I NEED to declutter!!! 😢
Me too....thumbs up here if you need to, too!👍🏼
Cats in a Cradle is the song
Cats in the Cradle I believe.
Okay then, I'll come back and finish this video in a week. 😅😅 JK, good suggestions 😊
Go Bills!!!
They are kicking butt this year!
@@BecomingMe64 Let's HOPE it continues throughout the playoffs. I will say, they look pretty complete this year.
Ride a motorcycle for sanity sake. In the process of purging the stuff. Great video!
Thank you!
I closed down my FB account just recently. FB is a dangerous neighborhood. My 91 year old mother is addicted to it.
Can you share about how you got over your divorce?
Good idea, however it has been almost 25 years.
The video above you was from Coffee and Cleavage topic Orgasms. Any comments?
I have absolutely no control over where RUclips places me on the home page
And the cats in the cradle and the silver spoon little boy blue and the man in the moon when ya comin home dad I don't know when ... we'll get together then you know we'll have a good time then....

You may be a well intentioned Fixer Friend with a fix for everything. :(
Number XX. Stop making numbered lists!
I'll save you Holly from that stinks bug! Haaa
A very helpful set of tips, which I shall utilise in my unending quest for global domination.
You say stink bugs, I just call them Democrats, lol. Awesome video.
Simplistic advice that is unrealistic. If you're a drug addict, alcoholic, sugar addict, messy and watch the news, her advice is to just stop it. Her voice is yrating.
If you’re not ready to make the change, just don’t listen to it…
People have to want to change then they hear what they can do. Some people can't be helped, don't want to change
Do you even read our comments?

@@annetteouellet995 That's not the point! This is ridiculous "advice" as if someone on drugs, alcohol, etc could just quit. I don't have those problems but telling people to just stop is ridiculous and too deep a societal issue for this bland show.
My father quit smoking cold turkey forty-six years ago, so it is possible for people to beat an addiction if they have a significant motivator to change their behavior. In his case, it was watching his father die of lung cancer. Whether outside help is needed or not, it's still up to the person to decide to change the behavior to reduce the likelihood of relapse.
Holys schiza, girl! WTF? You came out CRAZEEE! Anyone else feel it?? Ugh😳🥱😣
I will try cutting sugar out and see how that works for me
It really does help you sleep better
