I wished more people would appreciate music from bands like Twilight Sad.
It breaks my heart to hear they struggle so much to live from their beautiful art.
This Band is fantastic it breaks my heart as well to see a band with such raw emotional talent struggle.
Agree. I love this band, cheers from RIO!
Keeps it real, also see british sea power.
I didn't know. They are so great
They're huge in Scotland, and even the UK. They're opening for the Cure ... Robert Smith has been a supporter. I was at a packed show at Barrowlands last week ...
Apart from the fact that their music is sublime, and they are amazing musicians and songwriters, God I love how his accent shines through every note. So happy to see artists keep their natural accents.
Me too , it's rather unusual and very endearing!
Agree 100%, I feel it makes it feel more authentic
Much love to my Scottish heritage
Just saw them open for The Cure last weekend! So glad that I got to witness their talent live. Will definitely recommend them to friends.
They have supported The Cure for a good while, so Robert Smith likes them, there were excellent at the Hydro in Scotland great band need to see more of them ❤️👍
there amazing seen them in glasgow not long ago stripped back set celtic connections festival brilliant gig
In my opinion, the twilight sad are the modern day joy division and certainly deserve a lot more attention than they get.
this band has made me cry more than any other band.
Next to Oasis
@@darrenthemalekaren3121 LOL!
Thus they are aptly named. For me it is Frightened Rabbit.
Who the hell doesn't like The Twilight Sad?
They are okay. Not mind blowing. Maybe they will grow on me. They need to change their name, but I realize that could sound petty.
Being from Texas, I’ve come to realization im more than likely gonna have to go to the twilight sad instead of them coming to me. They’re worth every mile. Everytime I have glass of whiskey I put this on and just submerge myself in this. Perfect in my book. ❤️
They’re opening for The Cure. Hitting the major cities. Go see them!
He performs with such conviction and emotion. How is this band still struggling? They should be multi millionaires, touring around the world. Reminds me of Alice In Chains.
DIfferent times, man.. back then ppl really bought records that would support artists financially. Nowadays there's RUclips, Spotify and some other media so ppl aren't as hungry as it was anymore. Touring can only help so much
Alice In Chains? How? More like New Order or Interpol.
Not like Alice in Chains at all...
@@RockSchooled i think he was referring to the raw talent but the general lack of major success
@@RockSchooled Alice in chains?? Lol more like My morning jacket or like talking heads
Frightened Rabbit Necklace... Great, now I´m double sad
The interview was refreshingly honest and down to earth, especially the bit about Scott. Love love love these guys, can't wait to see them next summer with The Cure and Mogwai in Glasgow!
I saw these guys support Mogwai back in November and when they performed their cover of Keep Yourself Warm by Frightened Rabbit, I fell in love with them! They do me proud!
Criminally under appreciated
I like The Twilight Sad even more after seeing how emotional James got when talking about Frightened Rabbit. It's a very earnest way to show oneself, and it's incredible
Such a lovely day with the Sad Family!
I love the Twilight Sad so so much! Thank you to The Cure for introducing this AMAZING & BEAUTIFUL bad to my world!!🖤🖤🖤I was fortunate enough to see 4 shows on this last tour with The Cure in 2023! They floored me every time. I’ll forever be a fan!
been a fan ever since 2007
I am so happy I got to see these guys open for The Cure! Best concert of my life!
If this band had come out in 1980 they would be icons. They just came out too late to be appreciated. I have heard them twice live and they are amazing.
They are fantastic. Seeing James wear that necklace for Scott Hutchison and FR is so amazing.
Absolutely my new favorite band! I wish I would have discovered them before this week. I hope they tour the states again. James Graham's voice is tapped into other worlds. ❤
I am from Mexico City, and I saw The Twilight Sad opening for The Cure , It is definitely one of my favorite bands, its lyrics are very deep and beautiful. Also the drums and guitars are so intense. I just love their music and i know they will be a considered as a cult band.
This Band is fantastic it breaks my heart as well to see a band with such raw emotional talent struggle.
❤

Wow they sound good. Very excited for new album.
Loved you guys ever since 2003 at Great Scott in Boston!!
Love Sebastien. The drums on the three released tracks off the new album are incredible.
James actually said in 2015 in Ireland, that KEXP was great (I'm in Ireland, from Seattle)!
That's the sound I was looking for. Many thanks KEXP! ❤️

Just discovering this band. Digging it.
They’re great!!
They were AMAZING opening for The Cure last night in Seattle.
That was great!
His explanation of playing KYW for all the lonely FR fans out there is so touching. Despite how much it must hurt him, still thinking about fans and carrying on Scott's legacy. Not to mention his own incredible band TTS.
Still the most relevant band I've seen in the last 20yrs.
Very good band, I love it since 2009. Long life!
discovered twighlight sad at cure gig glasgow amazing
Lucky enough to have seen their sold out Glasgow Barrowland show. It was amazing. Good interview here also
Truly fine band!!
PERFECT!!!!
Hearing them here on KEXP again makes me freakin emotional. It's been a long road, yet the path hasn't faded... Quite the opposite really.
Banda grandiosa. Love from Portugal.
amazing music! thank you!
Iich habe die Band zufällig entdeckt, als Vorgruppe von cure. Ich war und bin begeistert. Dankbar, dass ich diese Künstler gefunden habe...great music
This channel is bloody wonderful.
I love it.
Finally!
Such an underrated bands in the states
Really bummed I missed their last show in October...They just keep getting better and better with time.
WHAT IVE BEEN SAYIN. Remember some of their really early live performances. I enjoy it looking back, but some of it was REALLLL rough. Some of was just bad mixing though if I remember correctly. The level of growth is insane
@@mynameisnobody454 like this old KEXP performance?? Good but very raw..ruclips.net/video/br3kBEehRCA/видео.html
in love ♥
I've seen them this year as a support for The Cure i Łódź, Poland. Very good band.
never heard of them but they're opening for the Cure in a couple of hours so I'll see them there.
Great Band! Saw them in Madison WI 2009!
LUF! 💓💓💓
KEXP é fera demais, só os melhores. O canal que eu mais gosto, indiscutivelmente e indubitavelmente
Ooooooh, that voice, melts my heart.
Finally coming to Cleveland!! Can't wait!
OK, they' re superb
wow so nice to see this in addition to the previous show
La interpretación de [missing face] en esta presentación es SOBERBIA!
Tal cual! Excelente como aumentan la intensidad llegando al final. La voz, la guitarra, la fuerza de la batería, y bajo y teclado marcando.... Increíble
Cant wait to see them and the cure in August
Keep going, guys. Salute from Manila!
2022. I still love them
Shout out on the Frightened Rabbit cross, James
I wish they looked darker, their sound plus dark looks will give this band the boost they need.
they are incredible!
WOW!💖
Love it live. Reminds me of a Scottish version of Oquoa.
I just got pointed to you guys for the first time by another guitar player. Wow. Really really really good
Saw them in Austin TX with The Cure on mother's day and both The Cure and The Twilight Sad put on an amazing show.
Awesome! From the new stuff they played here I reckon the upcoming album is going to be a belter 👍
