I remember hearing welcome home on the radio. I instantly fell in love with this band. Even the new stuff still packs a punch and makes my spine tingle when I here there music
This freaking song bro...lowkey it might be their best. It's so evocative even before seeing the video. Everything after the fight interlude is an absolute masterpiece. Everything before it is merely spectacular. Storytelling at its finest
I don't think you can say what songs are Coheeds best, because they're all great, but if you're talking about a narrative video then yes this is probably the greatest.
I want to agree with you but then I'm remembering all of their amazing songs and what I realize you've done is initiated a Co&Ca rabbit hole from which I don't know when I'll emerge. And for this, I thank you.
After years of listening to y’all and years of missing your shows I am finally an adult and am going to my second coheed show this band has saved me and it has pushed me to overcome everything
So, (this is way after your comment) I think they re-uploaded all of their Afterman music, because I remember there was even an interview a long time ago about this specific song hitting over 1m views. And looking at this, yea this video was from 2015, the song was what, 2012?
@@CarlTheSpud IKSSE:3 is a far superior song to No World For Tomorrow. Far greater lyrics, greater sound transitions, IKSSE is a masterpiece, No World is good, but.. meh. Not even the best song on that album. That goes to Mother Superior for sure.
@@ssjonupants i would never say one is better than the other. Just reliving the hype. The End Complete though. All of WW was kick ass again just like in burning star 4. I love all of it and always will
Well, tbh, not really. They came up with the name of Coheed from Claudio's comic and the idea was to do an album for each arch of the comic, so that says something. Of course the albums far outdo YOTBR which seemed to have a troubled production process. Afterman albums would have been a much more fitting end (sound wise) to the original idea they had. However, whilst they had very cool prog bits in the songs from these albums, some catchy choruses in some songs and even a cool solo here and there (but nothing matching in quality of their best album Good Apollo II), the thing is they never really combined all elements like in the older albums. Don't get me wrong, there are some great songs on the Afterman albums, but it really felt a bit spread thin and like they'd have done better merging ideas.
This song has steadily become one of my favorites live. The opening shakes your very foundation and then shit gets wild. Hands down one of their most underrated.
No kidding, this is one of my favorite music videos ever. It's so stylistic and conveys the story behind the song very well. Not to mention that Domino is one of my favorite Coheed songs. I love it so much.
I totally agree Coheed is hands down my favorite "band". I say that because they are so much more to me than just a 'band'. They're like an emotional appendage, I can't really explain it.
Feeling a certain way tonight. 36yo and finally about to lose the person dearest to me. The only thing missing is the gem of band I wish everybody had the chance to hear just once. It was this or delirium trigger so being a legend I opted for both. Can't hold in my emotions. Best band ever

I was wondering why I got a notification about a new video.. thought it was a new song from the album.. but it's Domino so I'm not disappointed. LOVE this song!!
I came here just to comment, won't watch the video (usually just removes my own imagery of the song in my head which I hate). To me this is a war song. _Now my brother don't be afraid, WE ARE TOGETHER, WE ARE TOGETHER!_ Powerful!
Claudio narrates my life. Theres a coheed song for ever period of my life since i turned 15 . Every struggle has words put into song and its creepy how many similarities there are. The man even looks like my younger brother.
I dont think it would happen just because I dont think what Claudio has to say would interest Joe or the average viewer of JRE. That's not a dig whatsoever, I love JRE but just a majority of people dont know or care much about Coheed.
+ECxTheMaster Yeah, one of the pitfalls of the internet:/ I was afraid it wouldn't come off as obviously sarcastic, but I didn't know a way to show it besides putting kappa or /s and I refuse those lol
The video made me think it was about Mic, not sure though it is though. I know C & C combine different layers of meanings to their songs in general so it could be i guess.
+John Crichton Yeah i agree. Its always the case with songs they are subjective and mean whatever they mean to you...But trying to get to what the writer is writing about is another matter entirely.
Has anyone figured out what the announcer is saying in full? No background music or noise drowning him out? I know it's not exactly important, but it's just something that I've been curious about for years now. I mean, we have lyrics, but not really anything regarding the spoken part of the song...
"Well, this has been an extraordinary change of events, as two great champions at the fight to the finish find themselves in their last and final round! The fight now being deemed around the world as the upset of the century, let's get back to the brawl and in the fray! The fighters meet in the center of the ring, the challenger swings to the right, quick with a left hook across Domino's jaw, followed by a crushing strike to the body - OH! He might have took another left- his hook sends Domino into the ropes! The Challenger lands a devastating combo followed by a driving hook that sends Domino to the floor. The crowd's on their feet, the ref's called the fight - he's out! He's out!"
I believe this is a reupload in the sense that the Coheed and Cambria Vevo channel had uploaded the video originally, but have since been removed due to signing with a new record label, 300.
That would be a great way to look at it. It’s like Claudio always said the story is about the Emory wars but it is also double for whatever the listener feels and whatever the listener’s perceives it to be and that’s what makes Coheed a great band
3 years and 11 days ago. I remember jamming this 8min beast on repeat everywhere I went. I got a lot of people into Coheed with this song.

Great to see a music video from Coheed that actually follows the plot of the Amory Wars. They should do this with all of their songs.
150%

Proud of our great mistakes

Turn about-face
[Chorus]
I implore you, brother
Don't walk away, don't walk away from me
'Cause this is our war
[Verse 2]
Oh, you think they have it all while you were left with nothing
Oh, oh, you've taken the fall for them to walk all over
You made your bed, so soft and comforting
These dreams await the grey good morning
