  • How to create a striking diorama is a challenge, I hope this video will help in that regard. I create a scene from alternate history, talking you through my thoughts and creative process. Models used is the Tamiya U.S. Tank Crew and the Warhammer Horus Heresy Dreadnought from The Age of Darkness box.

    • @Zabzim
      @Zabzim 10 месяцев назад +2

      Huh, far from it. It actually stands out like a sore thumb! Because the diorama is treating the dreadnoughts as a mech suit when any sort of cursory glance at the lore behind dreadnoughts in Warhammer universe will tell you they are walking coffins where dying warriors are sealed within metal tomb so they may live on a fight once more before scrambling to the madness of perpetual undeath.

      @Zabzim 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@HQRubbish better that someone speak their mind and correct the mistakes early than to go on with it and be ridiculed later for something they should have known. All the guy needs to do is remove the dude sticking his head out of the dreadnought and replace it with the corrected head and the piece would look factually correct. Well sort off, dreadnoughts are chained down when not in active use because there isn’t actually a way to switch them off but that’s not as strikingly important as misconstruing a dreadnought as tau mech suit.

    Just to say, this has been the most miserable period of my life, what with the revelation of my wifes affair, divorcing, remortgaging, depression and very dark thoughts, these vids (amongst other things of course) have been of great help. And its not even the painting and modelling (which is excellent), its actually your voice which is extremely calming.

    What a motivating inspiration for a Summer project that isn't the perennial "Get an army of 90 models painted!"
    Despite the hours I've spent copying the techniques of Marco, Riccardo Angostini and Vince, I still can't paint a stunning art piece for the shelf. It seems I can though model a unique display piece combining my painting with the scale modelling of my teens and some great looking, clever terrain painting ideas

    I'll start by saying this is absolutely INCREDIBLE looking, you really nailed the tone of the story you set prior. The only thing I think that could add a lot to this piece is the sheer weight of the dreadnaught. I imagine this machine to be freakishly heavy and with every step the earth, mud and brick breaks underneath it. The models seems to kinda just "float" on the rocks below, If you were to depress the feet into the ground I think it would add just a tad extra to an already astonishing work of art.
