This is very helpful. New to remote work and going to look into travel trailer life. Have a 4x4 half ton truck. Would you go used or new? I grew up in a pop up Jayco camper. This is wild to consider buying used. So nice.
The exhaust is why I asked in a different video about open air hauler. Rv in the front trailer in the back. I've only seen a couple out here in California.
Normally i like toy haulers but what creeps me out about this one is the fact if you want to go ride your quad or whatever you haul with you, you either have to leave someone behind or close the back up. I like the idea its smaller and possibly 1/2 ton towable. The seats dont look too comfortable so id use it for basically sleeping and hauling only. Still a neat little camper over all.
Love this review! My husband and I bought one of these a few weeks ago and have camped out once since. We have the west coast version, and to be honest, if we saw the mid-west version, I don’t know if we would have chosen this toy hauler. We have solar, it came with a tv, and I feel like we have an inverter (but I may be wrong). The modern farmhouse color scheme is far superior to the brown also 😂. We haven’t hauled anything yet, but when we do it will be two 500lb motorcycles so it shouldn’t be too bad. We also have a 1/2 ton truck and pulled it just fine. Nothing crazy happened going 60 on I-5 in crazy WA traffic. I do agree with the rv queen being a downside, and we did consider getting a true queen, but it’s not easy to walk around, and going through the bathroom to get to my side of the bed got annoying (we tried out the bed extender). As long as you’re 6 feet tall and under, you will be fine though. I do wish we had porcelain toilet too because the one we have is a little shaky. The couches not touching? 100% a downside. They also aren’t very comfortable for anyone to sleep on due to the padding in the backs causing an uneven sleep surface, the cup holders, and it is just too small for an adult. All in all, I’d recommend this toy hauler for newbies like me…but probably only the west coast version. Oh…and I did get in touch with the HappiJac people and they did say their adjustable bed can be added but you need to do some adjustments to make it fit due to the back windows width.
If you have an inverter on yours, then it was added after it was built. It's not impossible, though. Solar optional on the midwestern version as well. I like to build most anything with 200w of solar minimum myself.
There is no way a person could sleep comfortably on those fold down benches in the back. Those were so uneven and lumpy it was ridiculous. Jayco needs to do better with that crud.
Im in oregon, what is the price point on this? And a 2017 nissan titan should be able to handle it right? editing for one more question... how does the AC work without a generator?
Pricing for any of these we have in stock at: bit.ly/3xgE0bf You can use that link to also filter by store. Our oregon store carries Jayco and may be able to help you better figure a localized price A/C does not work without generator or park power btw.
A toy hauler isn't probably a goal for me. However, I do really like the bar and stools as a different option from dinettes and table/chairs. Different strokes for different folks. I like options and creative solutions!
This RV does have some things that others don’t have👍but it is also missing a lot things that others have, like a comfortable place to sit, a TV, a porcelain toilet, a MaxxAir bathroom fan, a true queen bed and a standard solar package☹️
I don’t like the two different cabinet colors in the kitchen area. I’d have to try the breakfast bar to see if I like. I’m not a Jayco fan anymore. Nice video Josh.
Yeah too much tongue weight for my 1/2 ton. Just that and me alone would push me close to payload capacity. I like this trailer though so time to buy a 3/4 ton 😂
I am very much interested in a toy hauler. But for me, this one fails because it doesn't have the happyjac queen bed in the back. Everything else I like, but without that one feature, I wouldn't buy it.
Starts low in the northeast and starts growing as you go southwest There's SOME business for them everywhere but it becomes far more common as you start getting toward the west/southwest
I vote as follows. Mega Bed, Idaho build and I would say a 1/2 ton is a possibility but your going to have to be careful with loading. The low cargo capacity for a toy hauler is just begging to end up with this trailer being overloaded. And the real deal breaker are the floor vents in the cargo area of a toy hauler. Yeah that’s got disaster written alll over it.
Bought a jayco recently and so manything are broken put on poorly and electrical issues and more sorry to say but jayco has a bunch of under qualified people working for them and my 100 thousand dollar trailor is worth a lot less every fastener is either stripped and over tightened and won't tighten more leaking shower fastener not even put in all the way or at all I would recommend never buying a jayco my unit is worthless and has so many blemishes and more where they did shitty patch work doors don't close with out pulling super hard on them and more my awning ripped of on delivery damaging the fiberglass and now isn't even tight and can't be tightened. What's the solution to this problem getting a lawyer involved ? Cause the rv techs in my area have only caused more damage and haven't fixed anything . The welding on the frame is ridiculous can't pass any sort of certification I'm a millwright level one welding inspector and have multiple welding tickets and all of this is completely un acceptable.
No way for a 1/2 ton. It's going to be tail heavy with anything in the back. It's too long of trailer. Hitch is already heavy dry. 3/4 ton to be safe.....1/2 ton would really be pushing the envelope.

EVERYTHING else.... basically plug and play, for those things normally mounted to walls... system like in ... the other brand we discussed, just lock it in where it fits in, hook it up. stove fridge cabinets all of it.
This is very helpful. New to remote work and going to look into travel trailer life. Have a 4x4 half ton truck. Would you go used or new? I grew up in a pop up Jayco camper. This is wild to consider buying used. So nice.
😏 Doug would like you to leave him out of this. 😂😂😂
Apparently...
Nice toy hauler! And yes I prefer the Medicine Cabinet vs the plain mirror!
Ty
The exhaust is why I asked in a different video about open air hauler. Rv in the front trailer in the back. I've only seen a couple out here in California.
Normally i like toy haulers but what creeps me out about this one is the fact if you want to go ride your quad or whatever you haul with you, you either have to leave someone behind or close the back up. I like the idea its smaller and possibly 1/2 ton towable. The seats dont look too comfortable so id use it for basically sleeping and hauling only. Still a neat little camper over all.
Yes to the breakfast nook and barstools. I think that's a great feature.
TY James! I agree
I half ton a bigger trailer!
What model/size?
I think they opt'd for daytime seating comfort vs guest sleeping. Different brands do it different ways for sure
Im in oregon, what is the price point on this? And a 2017 nissan titan should be able to handle it right? editing for one more question... how does the AC work without a generator?
Pricing for any of these we have in stock at: bit.ly/3xgE0bf
You can use that link to also filter by store. Our oregon store carries Jayco and may be able to help you better figure a localized price
A/C does not work without generator or park power btw.
I'm not a real big fan of toy haulers but this is a nice lookin Jayco toy hauler 😊😊👍👍👍👍👍
Like aggressively folding laundry 😂
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
By chance, are there any tt's that are not toy haulers that have a deck off the rear?
…KINDA… try this m.ruclips.net/video/nJphAxvgWRQ/видео.html
A toy hauler isn't probably a goal for me. However, I do really like the bar and stools as a different option from dinettes and table/chairs. Different strokes for different folks. I like options and creative solutions!
I do agree - we are overdue for a swap from the traditional dining in rvs
This RV does have some things that others don’t have👍but it is also missing a lot things that others have, like a comfortable place to sit, a TV, a porcelain toilet, a MaxxAir bathroom fan, a true queen bed and a standard solar package☹️
It has solar standard
@brianchapin574 No it doesn't, you obviously didn't watch the whole video👍
I don’t like the two different cabinet colors in the kitchen area. I’d have to try the breakfast bar to see if I like. I’m not a Jayco fan anymore. Nice video Josh.
May I ask what put you off on them?
If it was smooth sides with a real queen and a generator. Heck yeah.
I like it! I would like to see a better solar package and skylights.
Depends what way the pineapple is turned.
😉 this guy gets it
maybe we need to get Josh a backup camera for his RV Nerd hat
seriously
i'm sure Furion has something
#NerdHerd 🎉
Yeah too much tongue weight for my 1/2 ton. Just that and me alone would push me close to payload capacity. I like this trailer though so time to buy a 3/4 ton 😂
I am very much interested in a toy hauler. But for me, this one fails because it doesn't have the happyjac queen bed in the back. Everything else I like, but without that one feature, I wouldn't buy it.
Fair enough.
At least it doesn’t have the population control couch 😉
1/2 ton truck ? Nope... Nice crapper area... Bed area too small. RV king mattress is minimum for us. thanks Josh
I wouldn't, but that's primarily because I don't want a toy hauler.
I’d love to know the industry take rate on toy haulers East Coast vs West Coast. I almost never see them on the road here on the East Coast.
Starts low in the northeast and starts growing as you go southwest
There's SOME business for them everywhere but it becomes far more common as you start getting toward the west/southwest
I don't care for all the different cabinet colors. Makes it look hodge podged together. Unified colors in cabinetry leave it with a cleaner look IMHO
You’re not the first to share that with me. Ty
Best decision ever made was to install a tankless, wife loves her long hot showers and this makes her a happy camper
Ty
I vote as follows. Mega Bed, Idaho build and I would say a 1/2 ton is a possibility but your going to have to be careful with loading.
The low cargo capacity for a toy hauler is just begging to end up with this trailer being overloaded.
And the real deal breaker are the floor vents in the cargo area of a toy hauler. Yeah that’s got disaster written alll over it.
Nice but to heavy for my 95 Ram 1500 tow truck 😊
🇺🇸 *Doug doesn't work there* !! *LOL* !! *LIKE the private bedroom* !! *LOVE the party deck* !! *GREAT small toy hauler* !! #JoshTheRVNerdAtBishsRV 🇺🇸
I wish that lazy bum would finally show up one day
Adult things.....lmao. I gotta hug ya
😉
One of my least favorite models for sure
Totally fair. May I ask how it falls short for you?
No way for a 1/2 ton. It's going to be tail heavy with anything in the back. It's too long of trailer. Hitch is already heavy dry. 3/4 ton to be safe.....1/2 ton would really be pushing the envelope.
NO
