    I am amazed at the amount of floor plans and personalities RVs have to offer. I know we all would like something bigger, better crafted, more whistles and bells and just more than what we need, but there will always be something that will do and possibly be loved over the years. Thanks Josh for showing us just about everything out there and being honest about it.

      The love\hate of those chairs might be generational. I'm early in my sixth decade, I see retro MCM Eames-inspired looks. Nice to look at stylistically, but probably not all that comfortable. Flexible usage for sure, but that's some expensive patio furniture.

    This has great possibilities for those who do traveling sales like antique dealers or lots of fairs and even like concerts. you have 5k worth of cargo and then you have a green room/break room with you instead of just having a 6x12 enclosed trailer.

    I have one of these.... Pro: Pull with 1/2 ton Tundra with airbags. Flat floor with no tire hump. I can fit a Kawasaki KRX SXS in it. Nice patio. Plenty of sleep room. I never have used that rear couch bed. If you need to sleep 6 not your rv. Do use the reclining chairs all the time. Con: No oven (like my biscuits and could care less about a microwave hot pocket). No patio stairs. 12v fridge (caused me to add several solar panels). No outside storage door. There is plenty of space to have one because under the bed there is a ton of room. It is taken up by the water hose hookup that could have been easily placed in another location. I moved my 3 batteries (lithium) under the bed location and replaced the old battery location with a tongue box for the hoses/cords and the normal rv stuff. An easy work around but should have been thought of by a designer. In the most part it does what I need it to do. These are made to haul the toy and sit and enjoy the outdoors. Probably not suited for the people that like to use their rv like a home, and relax indoors.

    Generally speaking, it is a cool camper.
    I do still wish the exhaust fans were Maxx Air fans standard and also a 2nd bench that can become a bed.
    An optional patio set with mesh walls for insects would be great as well.
    I don't expect this to have all the features more expensive TH have but exterior shower should be standard in every single RV.
    Thanks for explaining about manufacturers that prohibit publishing discounted prices. I normally hate when dealers ask you to call to find out the "best price". I usually think it is a scam to get your info and try hard selling techniques on the potential buyer.

  • @tickticktickBOOOOM
    @tickticktickBOOOOM Год назад +2

    I'm a fan of these toy hauler hybrids. There's a lot of ways you can set them up and it's easy to change them. Plus, it's good to have a guarantee of an outdoor place you can fit a table and chairs in that's not a mudhole. Steps would be nice, but you can always grab some from somewhere.
    I really like that murphy bed. It saves space and you can fit a lot more cargo in. Clambering in doesn't bother me. Putting in a proper mattress and fans would be my first order of business. I can't blame the industry for not replacing fart fans with full sized ones, but I wish they would.
    I'm also a big fan of free standing tables, especially height adjustable. Not sure how sold I am on those free floating chairs, but they're easily replaced. That bench might get ditched, either for more cargo room, storage, or a desk. You can always bring alone more chairs, and inflatable mattresses are better beds, anyway.
    Regarding the stove, 2 burner fore and aft over 3 burner. I'd rather pay a little extra and get the counter space. You can never fit three pots or pans, anyway. I don't get the double grey tanks; the bathroom and kitchen area are next to each other. I heartily second angling that toilet. I don't know how that got out design like that. Height is nice, not even having to stick your head into a skylight to take a shower.
    I do think they should've put -some- outside storage for the hookup stuff. Some can fit in that docking station, I guess. Make sure the bins you use for the rest seal up tight and don't leak, and hope you don't need a longer sewer hose than the tube can handle. Maybe weld a box behind the propane tanks.
    Manufacturers should ditch outdoor speakers for bluetooth. The fewer places water can get in, the better, and everyone seems to wind up using bluetooth speakers even when the trailer has them built in, anyway.
    Overall, I like it a lot and there are no dealbreakers.

    I agree 2 burner. No oven. Convection microwave oven instead..no couch bed in the back. Toy haulers need. Gas pumps 20 gallons. Storage upper height for tools. Power 110 in the back by the door increase solar panels.Don't need storage. Totes under trailer. Extra tables for outside store under UTV inside when driving. Don't need options 90 percent you are outside. 10% sleeping.

    I would have liked to see a window on the door side of the RV for the bed, if for instance you ear a commotion outside, you could simply peek through the window from your bed without having to wrestle yourself out of it.
    The Murphy bed is a good idea on paper to allow a function which is nice to have if you need, but if you don’t need is completely fine not to use. However with the layout, the separation of seating is a little awkward and the sofa kind of feels like it’s at the end of a hallway.

      Oh, interesting point - I will be leaving both the recliners at home for this trip. We've found that some Sam's club plastic folding chairs suit our needs. We might take one because they are nice and I do use them - but when we bring four dogs, three kids, two parents, and a partridge in a pear tree, the extra space is key. And its nice to have that flex. Pretty sure I'll be leaving both of them home though. I think that's something to note.

    I think this would have been a great contender for a 1st time RV for my family. It doesn’t do anything great, but does a lot of things well. It allows you room for a family and enough beds for everyone. No slides, but large enough not to need any. Able to load everything you need through the ramp. My first trailer was a FR Cascade 18TO, I would have preferred something like this instead. Not sure how I feel about the awning lights, if you can turn them on/off individually then it might be the way to go moving forward. That way it can be used as a awning (outside gathering) light and as a porch light (we’ll leave the light on for you).

Does anyone really use all 3 burners at once?

    Interesting. I like the layout. But, there is no storage. Forget the outside - putting the totes under the skirt is a great idea. But how do you keep them from walking away? And the easy sleeping capacity is 4 adults, with maybe 5th on the bench. Where do you put the clothes? Double up the drawers?
    I like the kitchen. I agree, a 2 burner would be better. I like the idea of having space on the right side of the stove. The microwave is in the perfect place, or at least better (in my opinion!) than an overhead one. Much easier to clean, and it leaves more space for overhead storage instead of having a giant hole under the stove.
    I like that it's stick and tin too, I'd be able to put coat hooks up so one of the chairs didn't become the coat closet.
    I'm not a fan of the bed, it seems a little claustrophobic. Hopefully there is at least a plug in the cubby to charge the phone overnight?
    Not the one for me.

    The lack of outside storage is unacceptable. Outside storage stores hitches, hoses, electrical cords, and the like. Those dirty things do not belong inside a trailer. Furthermore, the garbage ceiling fans need to be swapped for some Fantastic Fans or equivalent. The mattress, of course, needs to be replaced immediately with one that won't cripple a person for life. Finally, the bed placement itself makes it difficult to properly put on traditional bedding, as three sides are WALL. I have an RV with an 80 x 60 mattress that has only one side open, and I have to do a full gymnastic routine to get that bed made. What I like are the large holding tanks, the open space, the movable furniture, and the back screen. But it is not enough to overcome the cons I have pointed out. It has potential for some people, though. It's perfect for hauling e bikes, motorcycles, and the like.

    I really like this. I have a 2006 Keystone Hobbi 220 which was one of the first "hybrid" toy haulers. I really enjoy it, but I'm always on the look out for a modern replacement for it. My one question with this one though... where does the TV go? I didn't see a TV mount anywhere. Also, the $40k price tag for this was a bit shocking.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd

      No-slide haulers like this are not well set for good TV viewing for sure. TV hookups are on the wall on the camp side across from the kitchen

    the cabnits behind the murphy bed are worthless. youd have to walk across the bed to use them. the matress blocks them with the bed up.

    Hey Josh, so if I was going to buy this trailer. And never haul any toys. Could I pull it with a 1/2 ton truck?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 дня назад

      I would encourage you to use specific towing and payload ratings while shopping
      “Half ton towable” is the widest range of things out there. Most will get bossed around the road with a trailer like this once loaded
      3/4 is the better general recommendation but SOME half tons may do the job
      A lot of places will just say “half ton? Sure! Give me your money and let’s go”

    Ok I commented on this earlier. Liked the design. Question to the owners. Where do you put your sewer hose necessities, tools, etc, and all the utility items a person would normally store in the pass through storage?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 месяца назад +1

      It's been a minute since I went thru one of these but I think these had a belly tube for sewer stuff. if not, then it's easily added
      But it's definitely lacking outside storage which is a challenge. You'd almost need to have a system of totes for things

    Hi Josh, a general question. What are some of the cons for a wide body travel trailer?

    • @watchmanonthewall14
      @watchmanonthewall14 Год назад

      I would think that the tow vehicle will need extended tow mirrors. Also, while on the highway, the trailer may just barely fit between the lane lines, and that would mean that the driver would need to pay special attention to sticking in his lane without causing an accident.

Better than the fold up/in stable step for a toy hauler. Max vent in the bath at least. And is it 50amp or 30amp ? Thanks NERD ✌ GOD bless America 🇺🇲

    Why can't they make a real murphy bed instead of a mattress that folds up? It's exactly what I'm looking for, but probably over priced and not a lot of extra features like an outside shower or an outside kitchen. I like that it has a finished stainless steel look instead of a plastic faucet. Why is there the 3 span storage there if you can reach it without crawling on the bed or the couch?

    I cant for the life of me understand why I'm seeing more and more "toy haulers" without a fueling station!? The whole reason for a toy hauler is to condense your setup into one thing. Yeah i could throw 6 jerry cans in the truck box, but with the price of these things climbing it seems they're slowly removing things that were standard to see what they can get away with and we'll keep buying 😒
