It's good to hear Lovgren (bassist) stretch out. He's forced into a very important role within Meshuggah, so he doesn't solo, but it's good hear him play out here.
Haake is a gentleman & genius. he has always given us such gorgeous snare tones. his lyrics, art, drum parts & drum sounds are all wonderful. Lövgren is an absolute mæstro as well. every member of the band is a world class player & inspiring musician.
This was on RUclips in 720 with better video and audio quality uploaded by Flungbungdung... those got deleted, thankfully this channel still has them. I sent VicFirth several e-mails begging them to re-upload these vids in real HQ. Such epic footage, one of the best live sounding drums I have ever heard
I remember that. Those videos got deleted from Vic Firth official site when their website got redesigned. Not sure why the videos uploaded by Flungbungdung got deleted from RUclips though... VicFirth had also another video of a clinic from Haake during the Drum'n'bass Days Festival in 2006. It was the complete uninterrupted session where Haake would play sections of Stengah, Soul Burn, Glints Collide, and Future Breed Machine. Just like the Drummerlive one, the sound and video quality was great. I just wish Vic Firth would just upload those fucking videos instead of deleting them and do nothing with it.
@Skjolldir this is going to sound crazy but Lovgren is as talented as Thordendal in my opinion. Listen to his bass work on the jazz record by The Nica Group, its stellar.

start to 1:02 - In death is death
1:03 to 2:52 - Jam/soloing
2:53 to 3:18 - In death is life (intro riff)
3:19 to 4:15 - In death is death
2:51 makes me implode.
that jazzy jam is really yummy
It's the opening groove to In Death is Death/In Death is Life
I think it's something on Catch33, in the latter half. Not sure which song though, i think it's after Sum.
it's in death is death and in death is live

People of the earth: that's why meshuggah are different, their tightness is incredible
Tomos was so influenced by Sean Reinhart with the Jazz /Fusion approach.
That bass sound like a fucking buzzsaw..
Jazzy
What song do they start playing at 2:52?
I know it's 9 years later, but it's "In Death Is Life" off of Catch 33
I definitely appreciate your response. That became one of my favorite tracks. @@somanyhats3888
