- Meet team Thordendal/Bergstrand/Margarit and get a glimpse of what happened behind the scenes during the Area 33 - Origin SDX session!
Featuring a wealth of drum kits inspired by classic hard rock and heavy metal, this SDX is the continuation - or prequel, if you will - of the Area 33 SDX released previously. Again, Fredrik Thordendal and Daniel Bergstrand teamed up with drummer Leo Margarit. The result is a mind-blowing collection of jaw-dropping kits. Learn more here:

Finally Frederik speaks!🥹
😅 haha, same, i gues hes does'nt like to do interviews, like Tomas or the others, but in videos like documental yes, like the video "Making of the album Koloss" too, in all case; this Mans are genius, thanks a lot to them 😢🤘💪
Nailed it!
I think he doesn't really do many interviews because he's less confident in his English than someone like Tomas or Jens or Mårten
I love just about everything Mr.Thordendal does.
Notice Frederik talking at exactly 0:33
🤯
That's by design, NO DOUBT! There are other videos I've seen online of him where he comes in at 3:33 or 0:33 etc.
@@reasonsreasonably the universe works in those numbers, the more you notice the patterns you see the design of reality
3:25 Rosanna Thordendal shuffle ooooof
Ran to the site to find the full demo immediately after hearing that lol
totally! :)
Nice! Ubbe Näsvall fick vara med på ett hörn med :D
I am the biggest Fredrick stan, I couldn't wait to listen to this!!!
Frerik Thordendal, Daniel Bergstrand, and Leo Margarit working together?! 🤯
When I see Fredrik Thordendal: producer, in my head am like nah he's one of the most influencial guitarists in modern metal history before being a "producer"
You're my hero mr Thordendal
Funny to see Fredrik behind the drum kit. So used to seeing him up and front when with Meshuggah.
Would have been cool to see him play. Haake had said that Fredrik is a good drummer
@@GAMLAPATTEhe is! Very good actually! 💪🥁
His grey hair with full beard looks awesome 😎 🔥
This is really cool. I was not expecting retro sounds from this plugin. With Fredrik in charge i assumed this was gonna be targeted towards metal players. Definitely gonna buy
Du är min idol, Fredrik!
Fredrik transforming into a Rick Rubin music guru
Monumental.
Cheers to all for seeing history in the making and timeless music 🙌
Congrats Papa Fred!
HE SPEAKS
Looks like a blast, not exactly the sound I would go for but looks amazing nonetheless.
Har alltid drömt om ett trumset som ryker om kiss!
Hell yeah guys. I was all in on SD2 and now I need the damps
Thanks a lot guys 😢 for many years of épic, beauttifull and powerfull music... 🤘💪🎶🎶🎶
That sounds so good (on youtube at least) ! Gonna add it to my whishlist
I hope he get to make the art he’s always to
Opeth, Mastodon nailed the old school sound a few years ago.
Not used to seeing him with short hair. He looks different. This is kickass
"N.Y. Hard Rock II x III" track from full production demo on my repat 🤟 Fredrik are groove genius!
Lol I was literally coming back to this video to comment the same thing. I actually downloaded an mp3 of it haha
@@caelenkibler6049 Exactly. The same story was with the previous release, in the demo tracks section there was one very powerful "Progressive Precision" that instantly hooked me in. I don't understand why Fredrik besides the solos stopped composing music for Meshuggah, he always came up with great ones.
Came here to see/hear Mr.T.
Fasiken va coolt!!!!!!
Skönt gäng allihop 🤠🔥
Would be nice to see Toontrack pack with Ilan Rubin...
Frustrated trying to record my yamaha tour custom kit with tons of cymbals, double pedal for my project. This may be my answer, unless some engineer wants to move in 😊
Fredrik talking??!! What?
Sweeeeet !
3:16 I already hear Neil Peart's rrrrradadadududududududududu dsss...
Quite honestly, I would have been happier with a completely different sound than it was last year.
is it a new library? like part 2?
Yes!
@@toontrack nice. hopefully not as much high end boost baked into samples this time.
@@kimseniorb i think is more like the actual room sound that has a lot of high mids, making it sound more metallic and hard. Its understandable for the Area 33 to sound more in-your-face because most of the kits are metal shells. Im rooting for a more woody natural sound and i have a lot of expectation for this kit.
@@blacksaona its console eq on the way in. I really like the original library but it needs some high shelf cuts across all channels to make it sound “raw”. especially close mics. yes some condenser microphones can sound a bit sharp, but not like that, its certainly someone making wide high end boosts, completely unnecessary for an sdx approach in my opinion, it should be even, balanced and as natural as possible to be useable for tone sculpting. I like the room/tuning so much I spent time to reverse that eq but needless to say I’d prefer the raw data
Needs more toms 😉😄
13 toms.
Yes. Pretty amazing!
His beard looks like Santa Claus
Hi guys. Damn. Nice sounds. But my head is like... you got nearly the same stuff last year. I mean, these are other shells and cymbals and brands, of course.
So my heart says GET IT and my brain says... NOPE.
I will think will go the in between: Get it, check it out. And then keep one of those Area33 SDX. I mean, the presets if the first Area33 extension didn't not really meet my preferences...
Awww, I don't know.
cool...
I didn’t recognize him with shorter hair and beard
Do I need the other area 33 sdx to run this?
No
