It's not just the regular heavy metal double bass drum show-off, he's actually got quite a "jazzy" style and manages to switch between different style, tempos and techniques constantly without loosing even a bit of pace/rytm. It would be great hearing him broadening into "lighter" musical styles too in the future, he would pull it off great and his amazing talent would reach even further greatness.
I wanted to see a video of him and yes it's not just the tone or recording, even at that speed he actually manages to choke the drums consistently for that heavy hit whenever he needs it. Freaking epic.
OMG ..that’s why he’s my favorite! Thank you for uploading this \m/

That Colaiuta Weckl 80s/90s fusion influence.
The consistency and the richness of the fills
The mechanical and the complex crashing
He's a flawless player
Now this man is sick.....the best drumer in the world.
insane
Haake is a jazz drummer, without a doubt. People comparing him to metal drummers like Duplantier don't get that it's absolutely apples and oranges.
I wouldn’t compare them, but, Duplantier totally is groovy. He took drum
lessons for seven years from a jazz teacher. Soo..
I wanted to see a video of him and yes it's not just the tone or recording, even at that speed he actually manages to choke the drums consistently for that heavy hit whenever he needs it. Freaking epic.
Each of Haake's limbs have minds of their own and are drumming masters.
Du spiller så sykt bra, Tomas. Det er flott å få se hvor god du er til å groove.
i hope that he knows how good he is.
tomas i love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
high quality?? I must of missed it...
Demon and God at the same time, that's the one, the Great Mr. Haake!!!
Impossible to get high quality sound when the drummer breaks the sound barrier.
I would love to see a drum battle between Sean Reinert of Cynic vs Tomas Haake of Meshuggah. That would be beyond epic :)
"Correct." **ends video**
Yea, the rest of the clinic had super sound, but guess I was to close at this session, used the same headline. Any more complaints?
Nah, just that one
lucky guy standing about 6ft away from him...
"High quality sound"... thanks for the irony!!
high quality sound?
