Wait, are you from planet Earth and have you read ONE novel about politics? Power corrupts absolutely. That includes burning down most of your intimate relationships. Some manage to hang on to one or two, like Obama. But Selena Meyers--she went ALL the way! ;)
I haven't watched this show for years but the scene where she walked into the glass is probably the most shocking and funny scene in TV history. It's so memorable.
Oh come on, don't exaggerate. It is funny and takes you by surprise, sure but "the most...." in the whole TV history? I mean, have you watched all shows in the world?
It’s actually a literal documentary at some points, they interviewed actual political figures to make the show realistic and ended up picking up some stories from them, which made it into the show. The whole episode where the speech to the union gets deleted was based off numerous actual situations where that happened
@@Rash23215 there was a point where she wore so many trumpet sleeve dresses. Some were ok due to being plain black or having an interesting pattern, but most were very matronly and unflattering in my opinion
Yes!! A part of me is always secretly a little bit thrilled when my doctor's office or something like that makes a mistake so I have an excuse to say "the incompetence in that office is stag.ger.ing"!! when I'm venting and complaining about it hahaha 🤣
Little bit more- Selina became president in 2020, dies 24 years later, so 2042. Hopefully, because otherwise, that line about Dan’s wife being born in 2019 is something else lol.
More like 20 😅 Hanks was born in July 1956, making him a bit shy of age 68. The clip at the end said he will have been 88 when he passes away. Giving him plenty of time to snag two more Oscars for Best Actor 👌
I really enjoyed the inspiration for Veep, In the Thick of It. However, the original did not end in a heart break. I was floored about what happened to Gary.
This is one of the best comedy shows of all time, just the right amount of drama and serious undertones. Barry has been filling the void this show left but it’s not the same!
This is brilliant. The time/career scene always gets me because the axes are switched. I don't know if that was done on purpose to show the incompetency of the staff or if it missed in production.
I think they've done axis getting switched a couple of times, too many for it to be a mistake by the production. Just a nice bonus joke for those paying close attention.
absolutely my 100% favorite show of all time. veep really has a special place in my heart. i have “SM” tattooed on my right wrist for Selina Meyer. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is my favorite actress and Selina Meyer is my favorite television character of all time. i love them so much.
I wanted this scene included: 😂😂😂 Amy: Oh, Dan is a shit. Selina: You want to expand on that? Amy: Sure. He's a massive and total shit. When you first meet him, you think surely to God this man can't be as big a shit as he seems, but he is. Selina: See, I - Amy: 'Cause like if there were a book with covers made of shit, you'd think "That's intriguing. I wonder what's in this book that they saw fit to give it covers made of pure shit." And then you open it and... shit.
Selina is one of televisions best dressed women. Shes right there next to Carrie Bradshaw. Ugh, I wish people talked about this more. Maybe I'll make a video on it.
That scene where she’s sitting utterly alone in the Oval Office after having sacrificed every human relationship she had for power is chilling.
Turn on the heater
@@zapkvrExactly. It's not that serious, LOL

I definitely read “shitting utterly alone”

This really highlights how, when viewed as a whole, this show is a tragedy disguised as a comedy.
That’s politics, baby.
it begins and ends with this simple question, "what if Tom Hanks dies?"
I haven't watched this show for years but the scene where she walked into the glass is probably the most shocking and funny scene in TV history. It's so memorable.
Legit thought it was an unscripted moment right when it happened, and that they just left it as is. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is a masterclass actress.

The shot of her looking at the empty oval office is so powerful.
It was so satisfying to see Splet not just as President, but a beloved and hugely successful one.
Reminder that through the convicts and senile old men running our govt. we will have our good man some day 😭
"I don't know why I said T, my middle name is John" is so fucking good
Julia really carried this show. Her comedic timing is just brilliant. She really deserved all those Emmys.
And the Mark Twain prize
she's insanely talented but they're all so funny tho
@@zurzakne-etra7069 Fave show eva
Carried to new implies no one else carried their weight and I couldn't disagree more. This was definitely one of the best comedic ENSEMBLE casts ever
One of the many political satires that morph into documentaries as time goes by.....
Can our POTUS follow suit and not run again next year?...#KHarris

Only complaint is it doesn’t include the echos of “the level of incompetence in this office is….” mirrors between the first and last episodes

Richard’s “and drive safe” gets me every time
The Splet timeline is pure gold.
ok fine i'll go watch Veep again
First president to pee sitting down since FDR...
Thank you for putting this together!
"Sue, did the president call?" 😂😂😂😂😂
Some of the scenes are probably happening as we speak now with Kamala Harris. Life imitates art
Since I have HBO Max, I have seen every season of this comedy 4 times.
This show has been on my watchlist forever… didn’t realise it had such a big story arc…or that Hugh Laurie was in it!
According to this timeline, Tom Hanks has 12 years left. Rest in future peace, Tom.

I love this. Great reminder of why this is one of the funniest shows of the last twenty years.
I think Julia did the series so she could do the cussing she couldn’t do on Seinfeld
I really enjoyed the inspiration for Veep, In the Thick of It. However, the original did not end in a heart break. I was floored about what happened to Gary.

This has to be the best series I almost watched.
Still more believable than the actual 45th president.
And she didn't steal, betray or attempt to subvert the Constitution and increase the already hideous sectarian hatreds destroying the country.

I binged this once a while ago and need to do it again. Such a good show.

Brilliant recap of Veep. I like how you stop the music in certain parts.
Born too late to explore the world, born too early to explore space. Born at a time when we can watch VEEP become reality.
This was amazing! Thank you!!!
Rewatching this show after like 6 years and god is it amazing
Burdened as what is about to be.
I can now claim to have watched the series.
Thank you magical Time Machine.

so sad to see what happened to garry
I’m reserving this show for a huge fun binge watch
that mock video of her omg that still kills me when she bangs the gavel 💀💀💀💀💀
It says "FUCK, SELINA MEYER!"
It's an awesome compilation, but no Veep recap is complete without the Anne Frank Bar Mitzvah joke
After watching this show, I have no faith in government. I can't even look at VP Harris with thinking of Salina Meyer.
