- I'm starting a video series on the LDT/LDS 465 Injection Pump. I'm hoping to take some of the mystery out of them. Please visit us at www.MVPartStore.com or if you have any questions you can email me at Ken@MVPartStore.com
got to love gimpy rob, damn good man
Thanks for the vid! Keep educating the masses, please! =)
When I got my deuce it had a non turbo 465 I it. Couldn't get it to pump fuel to the injectors so I had it rebuilt and reinstalled . Engine died in less than 100 miles installed a turbo diesel 465 . Found the piston sleeves started leaking on old engine
Junked that motor but kept the rebuilt injector pump it was rebuilt in Louisville ky.
is there any way you could make more video's on the 465 LDT Engine? I'd really love to learn more myself as a young mechanic I'd love to just absolutely learn more
Another good way of taking care of the injection pump on the old multifuels is too add a couple of quarts of NEW conventional motor oil because these old ldt 465 multi fuels were made to run on high sulfur diesel with acted alot like leaded gasoline as far as lubrication so using modern low sulfur diesel is not good for these injection pumps
Quisiera esa explicación en castellano
So what causes the hydraulic head to fail? Bad fuel, sitting long periods, water in the fuel? Thanks Matthew
I would say a combination of all 3 . The fuel density compensator is usually the first thing to go out. When they rebuild those even military contractors will bypass them along with any shop that rebuilds them.
Hey man thanks for this video alot of help but my hydraulic head plunger is going up and down but I still cant get fuel to my injectors any ideas
Do you have fuel coming to the injection pump? Have you checked your pressure pre and post gear pump?
@@MVPartStore I do have fuel going to the pump and I have not checked the pressure yet
