Great drone piloting Mark. It's almost as if you knew how to fly. The Amalfi coast is rugged. Very dramatic, thanks for sharing with us. Positano is certainly scenic but not a tenable anchorage in many wind directions -- more of a roadstead than a harbor. Loved the video as always.
@@wimschoenmakers5463I think while travelling it would be a bit fraught with danger of losing it. Also now have a crack in my back screen so no longer can use under water. Getting second camera and absolutely would love to capture footage of dolphins under water
Always a pleasure to watch your video adventures. So drone #2 is the same as #1 or different, DJI ? Tweaks are always fun to have 😂. Thanks for sharing with us all, safe travels as always. 👍🙂🇨🇦
Yip same drone. Only problem is EU changed rules so because it was purchased this year I cannot get above 120m above launch site which is no good with steep hills around that I would love to explore.
That was a nice 42 minutes holiday you just gave us, thank you. A nice video of some beatific places, and nice drone footage as well - like your on screen discussions with yourself about where to not go with the drone :-). Can you feel a difference with your solar panels? do they provide you with sufficient additional power? so you save on the generator? Thank you for a nice episode
Yip I would…everyone I have spoken to tells me it’s the same all over. I naively thought I would get a couple of trouble free years. To be honest it’s the parts that mainly fail not the boat build. One or two items in the build could have been better but that’s all. Third party parts tend to be the main issue. ABT stabilisers have been a problem but their service is amazing. Garmin has issues and support is crap!
Good afternoon Mark you might want to think if it's in the budget to install a sea keeper aboard your vessel those sigs are awesome when at anchor they really do eliminate a law the rock and roll have a great day
I have a crack in the screen on the back of the camera so cannot put in the water. Will likely get another camera which will be very useful when on my own
Great background info Mark and Fiona. You a couple years ahead of us 😅 QUESTION. As nz flagged what maritime nz docs do you need to carry. I understand a clearance to go offshore eg nz to fiji gets a doc with only 6 weeks or so. In med you going country to country by day ?
Ok so all you need here is the Certificate of Registration and Insurance Certificate. Boat is certified Category A which is ocean going so not sure we could be stopped leaving. Had not heard that. CE certified Category A
Yes I tend to agree…….the wire hanging down which the avoidance system won’t avoid scared me off…..total lack of courage….or maybe tiny bit of sensible thinking?
That autopilot malfunction could be pretty serious in a big sea! I don’t see why it would make a difference but could it be related to removing the shadow drive valve/unit?
$120 US$ for breakfast? Hope it was very good! Here in the US that would be in line with a higher end full buffet (all you care to eat) at a good hotel.
Great video again Mark. For the leaking nut, I would remove it, seal the hole all around with Sikaflex sealant then reinstall the washer and nut. Just tightening it is not usually the long term solution.
Hi Mark, I have watched your videos and love them! I love the N51. It seems like the perfect boat. I am interested in some other boats but my dream boat has been a Nordhavn however I am not sure if I can swing for the price of the N51..It would be much appreciated if you gave me an idea of the price of the N51. I realize the N51 comes almost fully equipped and that is what I am looking for……thank you in advance, and continued safe travels! Andy
Mark be careful do not put too much torque on that bolt you'll shear the head right off See I love the styling of your yacht I love the layout of your yacht it's a brilliant layout but it seems the build quality is a little lacking I mean that is something that should have been taken care of at the ship yard they should have put it in a rain shit and hose the boat down for a couple of hours to check for leaks topside you guys have an excellent day I love your videos
As far as we know it’s the only leak but I hear you. Seems like there was no silicone on that fitting. I watch them do a lot of attachments and they were pretty careful to ensure a good blob of silicone went under every through hull fitting. Cannot pull off every panel but have to wonder if there are others. Thank goodness for marine ply eh?
Hi Mark and Fiona are you happy whit th e bimini ?? Looks good ! Ps The pilot have 3 steps !! Did you get your stabilizers fixed ?? By the way : LOVE Fiona,s comments when she is picking on you !!!
Very much so it totally changes up top. Just need to strengthen it a tad. Not yet re stabilisers…new control box on the way…so pleased people realise I am being picked on!
Just me and NZ Boatmasters. From what I can tell you need appropriate licence for the country your boat is registered in. Only been asked for Licence once and that was Montenegro.
Great video Thx. I see Garmin displays your speed with big variation, half a knot up and down. Don’t you have the setting so that speed is calculated as an average during 3-5 seconds? It will show you a more accurate and usable figure.
@@AwanuiNZI dont know if you solved the autopilot issue, that seems really strange, but another setting is the responsiveness of the autopilot. If you increase the responsiveness what happened to you in following seas should not happen. But I guess the error is caused by something else.
You may need to increase the gain in the auto pilot to make it more aggressive (kicking in more rudder) as you go over the swells, so you don’t drift to far off track. It certainly seems that the rudder needs a bit more power to overcome the pressure being put on it. Does the AP hold track in calm seas ? Great episode BTW, you guys are nailing it !!
Great video Mark. The Selene 53 is probably stalking you cos they think you know what you're doing!! haha Very strange auto-helm behaviour, did you get it sorted? Hey Hugo…recalibrating today so fingers crossed. I like heading as it keeps me focused especially going so slow. Very easy to just forget where you headed in track. Offset would be nice too with other Garmins coming the opposite way…..track also wanders a bit so I might try that once recalibrated.
Awesome video! Gosh though what the heck is that auto pilot doing? You gotta follow up and let us know what fixed that. Do you think there is any way it has to do with the piece you removed for the shadow drive? That is honestly kinda scary if the swell was really bad and you were set on a course to make that as safe/comfortable as possible then the thing just turned in circles. Thanks for making the video! Beautiful views... I'm not gonna lie I kinda judged you for not flying the drone through the archway though... LOL!

Best not to use silicon on your boat for bedding bolts or fixtures or thru hulls. 3M 4200 or 5200. 5200 only if you want it permanently mounted.
