Well, at least your singer had enough self awareness to realize she wasn't singing in tune... so I give her props for that... now what is SHE going to do about it?? I used to work with a guy, no vocal training, very, very weak voice (hard to amplify enough without either feedback, or massive EQ-ing of FB freqs) who is always off key... and he has absolutely no awareness at all. He even has hours & hours of video I've recorded, and he listens to / edits it & does not notice. Or if he does, he's unable to come to grips with it. A person like this can't even start to grow, because they either don't realize, or can not admit that they need help.

You can't be more correct anyway
But then, I think the 1st thing to do in that case is to make him self aware of himself and that can really be a big time painful work to achieve...... nothing can go on good with his singing skills if he is not aware of his mistakes
May the force be with you 😀

@@Sounsicc Well, I stopped doing sound for that band. All the musicians (thought they) knew more about sound engineering than I did. I started mixing when I was 15, and I'm...., uhhh...., old... now, so ya, nah, I don't think so lads. I do their visuals & cinematography now, which are topics they know nothing about, so no one argues with my techniques. We get along perfectly now. 🤣🤣🤣 The singer does not take a hint. Even more direct approaches such as "What would you like to improve in your performance?" or "I think it might be appropriate to get some vocal training before looking for shows in big venues in other countries" is met with ridiculous word salad answers that indicate he is experiencing severe cognitive dissonance regarding this topic of his inadequate vocal performance. First you have to know you need to change. Then you have to want to change. After that, well, the world is yours, if you really want it.
