This is Sunshine City in Tokyo. I feel very nostalgic because I used to live near this mall. There is a gap between when the buildings open and when the shops open, so it is possible to capture this kind of footage.

@@AntiRiku It holds up relatively decently, it's only a little funky. The world map is probably the worst part about the game though, it's bland, samey, massive, kind of easy to get a bit lost, many encounters, etc. Thankfully 2 onward uses the simpler Persona world map we know today. It has more micromanaging than modern games in the series (every character can have more than 1 Persona, up to 3 I think.) I didn't feel like micromanaging stuff that much, so I just spammed firearms most of the game, and then a bit of item and savestate abuse at the final boss. Oh yeah, every character can wield a different type of firearm with unlimited ammo alongside their regular weapon, it's basically an alternate to a regular melee attack. I now see where Persona 5's firearm system stems from, neat. Persona 2 and 2.5 certainly hold up better than 1.

This music is actually from the 2009 PSP version of Persona 1, which featured a reworked (better) localisation, and a completely new soundtrack.

The map is also in P1. The first 2 SMT games also use the same gameplay.
Q1 and 2 are based on Atlus's Etrian Odyssey series, but yeah. EO and the early SMT games all use first person dungeon crawlers for exploration
