Hello , i have a problem with this monitor. I bought it roughly 1 month ago, and when i plug in my ps4 pro / ps5 via hdmi 2.1 (which supports all the resolution) my monitor can t go beyond 1080p 60hz with my ps4 pro (eventhough it can go up to 4k 60hz in my bugger Samsung TV) and my ps5 can t go any more then 1440p. I don t know why my consoles can t reach the full resolution on this screen, and it s not the cable s fault because when i plug my pc with the hdmi2.1, it can t go up to 3440 120hz as i was using the DP ( with DP i m going 3440 175hz.) Do u have any suggestion?
Hi bud, well thats a shitty experience overall and I feel quite sorry.A few suggestions that I have is to firstly try and set the resolution from your G8 monitor to 16:9 as by default it could try to display 21:9 and the PS5 last I've checked doesn't support it.If this does nothing then try and use a different cable(even though your existing one does work as you've said with other devices) it can still be an issue with this particular setup. Unfortunately I had had problems in the past with cables that worked fine for one setup and not at all for others, just like you've explained here.I always take the listing on amazon and so forth with a pinch of salt as I don't always believe the description to be 100% correct.I've seen some people that complained about this on reddit, recommending this adaptor here (www.amazon.de/dp/B0BHQXFTZ8?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) to use with your micro hdmi plug to fix the issue.Maybe buy this one here first,if you can find it or something similar to use with your existing cable and if not and if you still have issue then also consider a cable replacement. Also do check your firmware both on the OLED panel and the PS side,to run the latest one.I hope this give's you a general idea of where to go next with the troubleshoot. If you find the fix, maybe get back to us here and let us know for future reference.Cheers buddy and fingers crossed

Hi bud and congratulations on your purchase.Well there is only one major thing I would ask you to pay attention to.Take care not to use the same background (like windows wallpaper) if you are planning to leave the monitor on for extended periods of time.the monitor does have some protections for the fundamental problem of OLED panels that is its pixel burn in as it is called, but its a good practice to take some extra care.Simply put,if you use your monitor with static images or logos in the same places over long periods of time, then just change the wallpaper or logos if you can ever so often in order to avoid issues with pixels burning in.If you however just use it for games, movies and overall "normal usage" where the pixels are exposed to dynamic content then there no issue whatsoever.Enjoy it buddy,it should keep you quite happy.Cheers 😀

Hi I bought the G8 Oled on Amazon for $899 last night. I'm wondering what cable should I get to get the most Hz with my Ps5 and Xbox? Also can you connect a hub ? I'll like to hear your imput. Thanks a lot for your review by the way. I feel better with my purchase.
Hi buddy and congrats on the purchase.I think this panel will make you very happy as the quality is really something. The deep blacks and vibrant colours really make anything displayed on it pop.As for your PS5/Xbox setup, well I did use something like the cable in the link here(check end of comment) for my PS5 test but this will not get you the full benefit of the PS5's performance in some games. The output on both the Xbox and PS5 is 4K120Hz with its HDMI 2.1 standard but of course depending on some triple A games the console wont be able to run at nothing close to the 120Hz.Most games are optimised for the hardware and should run at around 4K60Hz for stable smooth gameplay at high settings. So this brings me back to the cable I used that was rated for exactly that,4K60Hz.Even though the panel can display around 175Hz,you wont get near to that with any console that you hook it up to.So in the end I would recommend a cable like the one in the link as it will be both budget friendly and get you gaming at the potential of the current gen consoles. As per the hub,you have a few inputs available to you (although a strange choice in ports by Samsung) and surely you can hookup this display in a number of ways to show what you want. Also it runs it's own OS to make streaming things like Netflix,Amazon etc and even Nvidia Gforce if thats your sauce :).Cheers bud and hope this lengthy comment covers your question.Cheers www.amazon.com/oldboytech-Adapter-Compatible-Raspberry-Capture/dp/B08C2PVP7J/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=micro+hdmi+to+hdmi&qid=1699792606&sr=8-5
I'll try and get both answers here buddy.Well firstly for the hub,I wouldn't go too crazy on spending a lot, just pick anything that gives you the shear number of ports that you need and also to cover your needs like 4K60/120 etc.I don't have a brand per-say to recommend but a good place to start is by checking up amazon and browsing by best sellers and seeing the reviews. The same can be said about the cable and dont get fooled by overhyped marketing as I'm quite sure that this cable can't go at 4K240Hz.Im not saying that this sort of cables can't do it but usually the ones that do are maybe at least twice as expensive as this one right here.It can be a bit hit and miss with this sort of stuff that's why I always check by reviews and go by best selling as usually those tend to be really liked by buyers.Cheers buddy hope this helps :)@@steverogers2524

Hi tech fusion... How about watching movies,netflix/youtube and sports. Will there be the two black bars on the sides or is the screen used to its maximum.
Depends on the resolution aspect ratio of the things you're watching. Remember not all videos support Ultrawide 21:9 video, it will shows 2 black bar next to it. But same to be said when you view 21:9 video on a 16:9 monitor. What will happen is that the video will look smaller and there'll be 2 black bar on top & bottom of the video.

Hi buddy, well it comes down to you and the use case.Surely if this was giving you 4K then I dont think you would be facing this question but what I hope to do is to shed some light on the panel itself. The neo G8 gives you the 4K res for sure but its and LED panel(mini LED but still LED).And that means ofc that you will never reach the truly stunning looks of an OLED panel. In my humble opinion I will always choose this OLED smaller resolution panel over an LED 4K one because im addicted by this point with what OLED offers and the way it looks.I use this monitor for both gaming and editing video as well as general internet browsing with lots of youtube videos in general and hats down all the way this panel looks insanely good.I cant tell you 100% certain that this is going to be better in any use case then a traditional LED panel but for me and my use case it definitely is without a doubt.I mean sure the discussion is deeper since you get a higher refresh rate with the LED but again you have to have the hardware to back it up in applications likes games for instance, since if you want to take advantage of the 240Hz panel then you must have a decent GPU in most AAA titles to be able to push that many pixels around. The amazing blacks and super high response rate really gives it something that once you start using daily, then you will never think of going back to a standard LED or IPS panel ever again.Hopes this helps shed some "light" on the matter for you.Cheers buddy

Hi buddy,This is my daily driver so to speak and its amazing and I love it.No burn in and no issues with colors or ghosting.I use it for gaming and video editing plus that its really good for multi task/tabs opened in general productivity.I really do recommend it if you dont mind the odd choice in ports on the backside.it comes with all the needed ports but in their micro form for some reason.Still they give you a cable from a micro to a full DP port in the box.Cheers bud
👍 very good THX
Cheers buddy 💪💪
Hi tech fusion... How about watching movies,netflix/youtube and sports. Will there be the two black bars on the sides or is the screen used to its maximum.
Also can i watch a movie when i am away from my desk like when i am sitting on my bed and not my chair.
@@arjung7633for your 2nd question, watch at a comfortable & safe distance to enjoy the colours without damaging your eyes.
@@doomscyte okay. since this is a curved monitor, can i watch content or a movie from far away that is when i am not sitting on my chair in front of the monitor but when i lying down in a couch..like watching a tv with the remote
@@arjung7633 i sometimes mistaken this monitor for a TV thanks to its size and Samsung Smart feature; like literally it has Netflix, Amazon Prime and many more.
It can even operates without being plugged to PC and browse internet or RUclips all with voice command or using remote control.
To answer your question, yes it's big enough to be considered as TV. Did I mention that it has a built-in in speaker that almost rivals a real soundbar?
Isn’t it 400nits?
Helllo,
I use now this monitor for several months and firmware updates.
Firmware 1520
With DP it is still impossible to reach 1000nits, in every setting it clips at 400nits.
With HDMI it is possible to reach 1000nits in windows calibration.
My settings with DP are :
HDR10+ off, Game hdr on, peak brightness off, clips in windows hdr calibration on 400nits,this should be HDR400TrueBlack, but noboody that i know has ever seen in windows a VESA HDR certification.
Settings with HDMI:
HDR10+ Advanced on, Game hdr off, peak brightness high, clips in windows hdr calibration on 1000nits.
Do anyony has in windows the HDR cetificcation?
This truly is an important piece of info and I will pin this so that others can see and maybe get back to all of us with an answer.I will search for this and get back to you with a response to this comment when I have something.Thank you kindly buddy 💪💪
g8 34 doesnt have 4k, 2560 x 1440p, so why u lie?
I am on huge dilemma between this one and the neo g8
If only this monitor support 4k
@@Tech_Fusion have you try that monitor in Xbox serie x ?
Hi buddy,no I didnt but I did have it on the PS5 and the PS4 PRO and it worked plug and play just as you would expect.Nice solid stuning performance.Cheers buddy @@funcuriosity8739
@@Tech_Fusion sorry how did you try if the connector it micro HDMI and the PS5 don't have micro HDMI 🤔
I've got one of these cables here: www.amazon.com/oldboytech-Adapter-Compatible-Raspberry-Capture/dp/B08C2PVP7J/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=micro+hdmi+to+hdmi&qid=1699792606&sr=8-5.
This is not the exact same I've used but something similar, quite cheap and rated 4K.And it worked quite well. Also you could use adaptors from HDMI to micro HDMI but I think that if you can find a cable its better then the adaptors.@@funcuriosity8739
Great Video but u say nothing about Settings , or menu or the Negatives of this Panel. Reflections, no Antiriflective Coating, With lights on it gets Purple, VRR Flicker , No 3.5 audio jack to connect external speakers, BT speakers LAG because this monitor doesnt support BT low latency , and many many more that u say nothing. JUST ALL GOOD
This is not a 4k panel my guy
That's absolutely correct. That's why it's getting "-ish" correction Cheers buddy
lol “4K ish” yea it’s close but the fact that it’s OLED and over 144hz makes it enough for me.
