    I think the biggest issue with this monitor is that it's $1700. For that price you could buy an LG C2 AND a 4070Ti. You could literally upgrade to OLED and upgrade your GPU for just the price of a screen upgrade.

    • @VysesDarkheart
      @VysesDarkheart Год назад +3

      actually think about this, best buy sells the c2 42" for between 600-800... and that's open box which retains the same warranty as a brand new product meaning you just pay less for something. I paid 638$ for mine from there so that + a 4070Ti and you would have change in your pocket.. this may be a nice monitor but I would miss the calibratable HDR, 4x HDMI 2.1 ports and smart tv interface... not to mention the LG has a media player built in that's robust enough to play nearly any format movie native from the tv itself.... the c2 just cant be beat IMO.... def trying not schill here but 1700 is too much... The Ultra gear stand is so lame, it has this fork design that if you are running like a 25" deep desk it means your gunna have a bad time.. all around these gaming monitors are are just horrible value.

    Fantastic review of this monitor, best one Ive seen so far.
    I got this monitor and currently testing it. For gaming is fantastic, although mainly I have been using it for FPS games and have to say it has caused some motion sickness and I am sitting at least 80 CM away from the screen. For story based games there is no question about it is one of the best I have tried due to the screen size, the next one runner up will be the Alienware 34inch OLED.
    The part where I am struggling and don't know if really returning it, is the pixel density, it is really noticeable for text reading :/

    45 inch looks also phenomenal though. But I think I personally prefer higher pixel density over screen size. And also the LG is a little bit too expensive for my taste at the moment.

    While it's nice the pixel density of it is my biggest concern. Seems like a big size for that resolution. I have a 34" monitor with the same resolution and if I move a little closer than the distance I normally sit I can begin to notice the pixels. The fact that it has such a heavy curve too makes it kind of difficult to sit at a big distance I would think.

    I just got this monitor and it's incredible. Yes, I'll address this: The pixel density is about the same as a 27 inch 1920x1080 or a 35 inch 2560x1080, but the screen is just so incredible and immersive and the HDR colors look really good on this monitor. Not a lot of monitors have good HDR. However, unless you're right up close to your monitor, the gaming experience is excellent, I'd say second to none even. Inky blacks and ultra high fps, and it being 1440p actually helps achieve 240fps or somewhat close to, for those of us who don't have a 4090 or any 40 series for that matter. If it was 4k, or even 1600p, it would be that much more demanding.
    If you're on the fence, I'd say go for it. It's VERY expensive. If you're ultimately a gamer, and you don't sit one foot (or less) away from your screen, you will enjoy it. The curve is one of the most intense I've seen, but it's absolutely acceptable in person, and to an extent, preferable. In pictures it may look too aggressive, but you have to just sit in front of it for yourselves.
    If anything, buy it from a place with a good return policy and try it. Videos won't do ANY justice. You need to see it for yourself.

      I was excited to check this monitor out, as I am rocking the few year old Alienware 38 inch AW3821DW .. And I was shocked to see the resolution on the LG is 21% lower stretched over 7 more inches of diagonal screen (6,144,000 pixel vs 4,953,600 pixels - 3840x1600 vs 3440x1440) .. That's crazy! Yes it is OLED and 240 hz.. but I can't imagine paying $300 more for it. Glad OLED gaming monitors are catching on, will be waiting a little longer for one.

    • @trombone32123
      @trombone32123 Год назад +2

      @@peppaz I was actually debating between Alienware's 38 and this one. I know the 38 has higher resolution, but I ultimately wanted a bigger screen. Went from a 35 (or 34.5 if you will), which is why I bit the bullet on this one. No regrets! I know the pixel density is lower, but truly, as odd as this might sound to some you only really notice it if you're looking for it. Sitting back, relaxing, normal consumption and gaming, the content looks incredible. And yes! The OLED, HDR and 240hz are a huge plus too! So it was worth the trade off for me for slightly lower resolution. I suppose it also benefits being a tad less taxing on my GPU too so it was a win all around for me. It only goes up from here though, LG started it so I can't wait to see how other companies improve! Happy to be an early adopter though. No regrets.

      Meh, IMO the best time to finally buy a expensive monitor is when they make one of these at the full 2160 vertical resolution. They also gotta be real about their ability to push 240 frames in 4k. I have a 4090 and even with such a flagship I can't possibly reach 240 in 4k in every game with max settings. If you advocate for eye-candy, and then go out of your way to lower settings, just you can reach 4k at 240, you are fooling yourself. 1440p at arms length distance with this monitor is fine. Games are fun, colorful and look vibrant with ultra settings. Super smooth, no blur. The little fringe text issues on desktop is the least of my worries (and common to all OLEDs by the way, not ppi)

Though Innocn is no-name Chinese manufacturer, the panel seemed to good to pass up for the price (4K, 144Hz, 1000 nits, 32', mini-LED with 1152 dimming zones). The panel is the same as a $3000 Asus panel. I've only had it for a day, but so far, the panel has been awesome. It has almost all of the advantages of an OLED (high contrast, deep blacks, etc) without any of the negatives (burn-in, warped text, low brightness, price, etc).

      1152 Dimming Zones are not really a lot when comparing to my MBP 16" and its 2550 Zones. I would guess it still has blooming, especially in darker scenes. Also its "only" 32" and also "only" 16:9 aspect ratio. So if someone wants a big display with a wide aspect ratio display for gaming it doesn't cut it.
      I currently have a 32" DELL VA Display (S32something DGF) and its really difficult to find something that would really make a difference besides a new OLED Display (Alienware QD, Samsung G8, this LG). I'd really love to give this monitor a try for longer than just a store demo, but I already have the AW3423DW. I feel like aside from the size and immersion, it would be diminishing returns at this price point.

    • @peterklick2385
      @peterklick2385 Год назад

      Update: I gave it a lengthy demo a month ago and ended up buying it, it does not disappoint whatsoever. Honestly, the only four things the Alienware AW3423DW has over it are:
      -Brighter panel (but not by much)
      -More saturated colors
      -Greater pixel density
      -Glossy coating (the coating is not as good as those on LG's OLED TV's and makes blacks look gray under light. Keep in mind that the LG 45" OLED monitor matte coating is not exactly matte. It is more semi-gloss; think the kind on the AW2721D).
      34" is also a better size for most people, but otherwise the LG is more feature rich and an very immersive display. It also feels better built to me and has bezels that aren't intrusive like the AW3423DW. The refresh rate is far better than the AW3423DW too. I love it, but ultimately with the AW3423DW and AW3423DWF going on sale all of the time with refurbs being especially cheap, you have to consider what is better for your use case. You will also have to buy an extended warranty from the store you get it from, as I don't trust LG's with burn in.

    1440p was a smart decision. At 4k you'd need a truly beefy system to run it and have good frames at 4k. 1440p OLED will be PLENTY gorgeous enough without 4k and it will allow enough systems that don't cost $3k to run it at maximum frames. I'm buying one next week and I'm absolutely stoked.

    Thank you for your review - really appreciate the user perspective. Having you use different applications and being side by side with the monitor gives a good sense of proportions. Most of the big channel reviewers just focus on the specs. Granted, I'd have liked to see other monitors side by side for a better comparison of scale. This monitor is definitely an upgrade for 20-30 inch monitors, but I wonder about it as an upgrade for those of us with 49 inch screens.
    I had to check the actual measurements, and compared to a Samsung G9 Neo, this screen is about 15 cm less wide but 10 cm taller. It also has deeper curves and of course OLED. I am waiting to see how the G9 OLED measures up before I decide. But this does look very impressive.
