Underrated... Perhaps because the historical accounting is BULLSHIT. David Ayer, who wrote & directed "Fury" never claimed it was "influenced" by a WW1 british tank crew. Actually quite the opposite, he was influenced by literature of US tank crews due to their high casualty rates. In fact, one can see more similarity of Brad Pitt's character with Famed US War Hero & Texas native Audie Murphy During WW2, US Soldier Audie Murphy mounted a tank during a german counter attack. When the crew ran out of ammo, they split while murphy grabbed the last loaded weapon -- a 30.cal 1919a4 LMG and managed to hold off the Germans to cover their retreat. Once he was out of his Ammo Belt, he realized he roughly killed +100 Germans single-handedly.

Regarding to the name of the tank: Fray Bentos was the name of a meat company which was located in the town of Fray Bentos, Uruguay (it's a small country in South America) and which it exported meat to England. Interesting thing is, no one knows the origin of the name. The town was originally called "Villa Independencia" and was renamed to "Fray Bentos" in 1900, but there is no record as to why that name was chosen. Historians are able to find the name "Fray Bentos" in military records from Spanish sailors in the 17th and 18th century where they describe the same location using the term but then again, no record was found as to why. So... Yeah... Both the tank and the name are legends... And on a side note, there was another tank named "Fray Bentos II" in honor to this one, which also fought bravely but was captured in the battle of Cambrai in November 1917 and was paraded through the streets of Berlin on that year's Christmas Eve as a show for Kaiser Wilhelm II.
It might have to do with the fact Fray is sometimes the prefix for a Catholic clergyman. Maybe there was a guy called Fray Bentos who did something amazing enough to be recognized by the place

I wanted to recommend the story of Hiroo Onoda. He was a Japanese holdout in the Philippines after Japan surrendered. He fought for 30 YEARS after the surrender of Imperial Japan on the island of Lubang. He wrote a book about his experiences called "No Surrender, My 30 year war." and I recommend reading it. Is it just me or is the animation getting better throughout the video?
Amazing again as always!!!
Outstanding piece of history. I enjoy all of your animations making them sync with the history account. Easy to understand and remember. Well done.
I thought Richardson sounded brave, walking along under fire, but think of how brave they all were in such a situation. This is the most detailed animation I think yet.
The name Fray Bentos comes from the city of Fray Bentos in Uruguay, they used to export corned beef to England at that time, and the factory is now UNESCO world heritage
Just amazing overall. Thank you!
at first i thought he said at 0:12 the mach four tanks.
Nothing like watching a good yarnhub video to start off a new day! Absolutely amazing details and overall quality as always Yarnhub!
If he is my history teacher, i would listen every word he says
I am amazed by how good these animations are after getting.
Wow... I'm impressed so much about your work guys, something truly astonishing. Giving the young people knowledge about those things are vital in order not to forget about the brave souls from all over the world, especially in the form of animation, i honestly can't see any historical misconceptions here, which more popular "Infographics show" have in common. Love from Poland
I swear Fury is one of my favorite movies ever.
Knowing that something quite similar happened to this and it wasn’t all fantasy is heart-warming to see, Thank you.
Meat in a can. That’s some really dark humor, there.
Can we take a moment to appreciate the quality of the animation?
