Omg the "Dawg Pound" I remember this so clearly, watching it while it was on...recording it. I was obsessed with this show to the point of taping the episodes from 04 to about 08 and then never watched it again
When you just give love And never get love You'd better let love depart I know it's so and yet I know I can't get you out of my heart You made me leave my happy home You took my love and now you're gone Since I fell for you Love brings such misery and pain I know I'll never be the same Since I fell for you It's too bad, it's too sad But I'm in love with you You love me, then you snub me Oh what can I do I'm still in love with you I guess I'll never see the light I get the blues most every night Since I fell for you Since I fell for you
Are you, dear viewers, AWARE of the fact that this song was written in 1947 or MORE THAN 70 YEARS ago? Although it was made popular by Barbra Streisand, Katharine's interpretation and/or rendition was sassier and kinda SEXIER, as the SONG's MELODY was designed to be. Loved it. Danced sexily to her singing, in fact. God bless us all.
OK, First, I love this song, but let's get one thing straight, this was not originally sung by Barbara Strisand. This was originally recorded by Lenny Welch. I may piss some people off with comment but Babs is an overrated singer. Some call her the greatest female singer, horseshit. Opinions vary and I can't stand listening to Babs. If you want to hear a pure and truely angelic female singer list to Karen Carpenter. So much better than the POS known as Babs. Now back to miss McFee, an outstanding performance of a wonderful song!
Thank you Magikoflove for correcting the major error she made about this song that was written by Buddy Johnson, recorded by Kenny Welch. That song sung by him is memorable. Not her rendition. Not even close!
This is a great performance for the 1st live episode.
Time has been very good to her, she is more beautiful today than she was then..................
My favourite rendition of Since I Fell For You.
Meh~ ... take a listen to Streisand's version from her early 1970's "Barbra Joan Streisand" Album.
Straordinaria👍👍👍
The prettiest American Idol Contestant
possibly my fav by her. this was like the moment I fell for her which is fitting with the song title... haha
I agree
This is still a classic IDOL moment
going on a katharine mcphee binge! sad that her performance of all love is fair is not here

The right amount of I...amazing
Lenny Welch not Barbra first took this song to number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1963.
Barbara was not the first to sing this song, the song belongs to Lenny Welch.
Lenny Welch sang this also!
Natalie Cole and Reba McIntyre did an awesome take on this song. People should check that duet out. This was great though.
Yessssssssssssss
Fan Ever
It was originally sung by Lenny Welch, not Barbara. She re-recorded the song.

Methinks it's time for Ms. Mcphee to again perform this number.
Katharine looks like Brooke Davis from One Tree Hill
Try Lenny Welch
She needs to see BARBARA was NOT ORIGINAL... ELLA JOHNSON
George Feist yes indeed!
Wikepedia entry: "McPhee claimed she was known as the "pretty but stupid" girl in school..."

Indeed, wikipedia confirms that Ms. Johnson's recording of brother Buddy's song dates from 1945.
