Kat earned that song accolades on her own merit, no help from Clarkson...Who is also a great gal. That voice and those excellent background singers did an awesome rendition of that classic song...Plus, Katherine's cute facial expressions added to this A+ performance.

Most singers in those genres mentioned had struggles of life being a minority, economically disadvantage, and victimsof white supremacy. My grandmother used humm while cleaning or being at peace with herself and you hear her humming start to get intense as she reflects on her life.

She’s no comparison to Kelly Clarkson. Kelly Clarkson has a large audience and fan base and has been the most successful artist in American Idol history. But, Katherine Mcfee can sing! She been on Broadway, in sitcoms etc. she great. And she’s perfectly matched with David Foster.
And her singing career has gone nowhere. Her husband probably has something to do with that. Her situation reminds me of when Mariah Carey was married to Tommy Matolla.
