Remember Chaka is doing Aretha's riffs too. So she is paying tribute to Aretha. Love the original. Really like Chaka Khans interpretation. But it will always be Aretha's song. Like Tell me something good will always be Chaka's. Also by Stevie.
In fairness both she and Stevie wrote Tell Me Something good, though she didn't get song credits for it as a new/young artiest. However, they're still great friends. So, it all worked out.

She kind of toned it down on this version, still very good. Watch the performence on youtube by BLAQUEMUSCLE. She blew this song away in a major serious way. As good as Aretha's version of this is, Shaka outdid her by far in the version I just mentioned.
