Best. Doctor. Ever. He crept into so many hearts who did not want to accept him and we fell in love with him. With all of the blackness in my life, he made me smile, and laugh, and cry. Yeah, it may just be a television show to some, but for me it was a lifeline that kept me hanging on when nothing else seemingly could. So to Matt, I say thank you and if I ever get lucky enough to meet you I'm gonna give you the biggest hug and the biggest thanks. Oh, Matt, how I will miss you.
I understand. The primary reason I have managed to reach the ripe old age of 54 is Doctor Who. It has kept me sane in an insane world of nonsence and cruelty. It helped me to hang on when there was little left to hang on to. So, to all the past Doctors may I say, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Matt Smith was a glorious Doctor, I will miss him too.
Ten will always be my doctor, and when he regenerated and I first saw Matt's face i was all "NO WAY YOU'RE MY TEN'S REPLACEMENAT" Then it took exactly one episode to fall in love... now I have two my doctors :) Matt was amazing and I'm going to miss him. Let's all hope Peter will be just as much a surprise as Matt was.. I don't see how someone can call Clara an average companion..
Now that Matt Smith has gone, I understand more why the old Tenant fans never getting over *him* and hating Smith. I like Capaldi, but he's not *my* Doctor.
To be fair, Matt Smith's Doctor was around 1100-1300 years old for most of his tenure (excluding last episode). Capaldi's Doctor is at least 2000 from the start of his tenure. So Matt Smith's real age is much closer in age to his character than Capaldi's real age tho his character. That aside, I felt that Matt Smith did a brilliant job of capturing the "old" side in the doctor. In particular, I like this scene! 11th Doctor and Stormy - Cute Moments
Bakter and Tenant are my Doctors. I am enjoying Capaldi, I really liked Matt Smith, but when it comes to Classic Who, Tom Baker is the Doctor. When it comes to Modern Who, David Tenant is the Doctor.
The Raggedy Man is my Doctor too. Doesn't mean I don't like the rest but Matt is my special Doctor. I think we all have one. A young body with an old soul. He did terrific! Goodnight, my Doctor!
With every single Doctor who has come to the screen, when I first see them I think to myself, "That's it, this is my Doctor, no one can ever beat this in my standards." But every time they leave the screen and someone else comes, I immediately fall in love with them and think the same thing. But Matt, he is my absolute favorite. I still love Capaldi, but he can never be what Matt was, and neither will any of the others who have passed on. But when I looked for MY Doctor, I don't just look at their on screen performance, I look at all of their panels and behind the scenes as well. Matt is so amazing and funny off screen and you just can't help but want to be his best friend. For all of you out their who are his actual friends in real life, I hope that you know what an amazing friend you have.
I miss Matt. He was the best doctor . This was best speech . I used this speech al lot. We all change but we should never forget who we were . He was funny . I really miss Matt
I want to believe that Peter Capaldi is going to be amazing, I really do. And he probably will be amazing. But Matt Smith was so incredibly good... I just miss him already.
The regeneration showed a bit of that.. When was that dialogue with Clara I cried. But when he turns his face and "BOOM Capaldi" I laughed and thought the same as you..

He will forever be my doctor. I grew up with David and Matt as my doctors and even when I’m older they will be the ones I consider MY doctors because they were the ones that made me cry the most.
I’m sorry but he can never be topped he still hasn’t been. He was incredible, Geronimo my doctor. You’re the Doctor, everything about you is the Doctor. It can’t be denied.
Watching this now and crying more then I ever have over doctor who. I fucking loved 11 I think Capaldi is going to shine in season 9 but I don't think he will ever amount to Matt or David. And if he does then I will be crying myself to death when he leaves the show.
Sorry, but I have to disagree. Peter Capaldi is a brilliant Doctor. He is taking the Doctor back to before bowties, fezes and Converse. He is a traditional Doctor in a traditional sense. It kinda helps that I am a but grumpy and stiff too 😁
All the regenerations are amazing, but his speech was awfully special and when visions of amelia appear before him it is like what you imagine happens when someone you love dies and those who went before them appear to ease their journey onto the next phase of their existence.
I'd just like to say, if I haven't said before, what a superb piece of work this video is. I've been watching it now and then ever since I first found it oh I don't know 4-5 years ago. Thank you for sharing with us. Thank you for your hard work.
"We all change, when you think about it, we're all different people, all through our lives, and that's okay, that's good, you've got to keep moving, so long as you remember all the people that you used to be. I will not forget one line of this, not one day, I swear. I will always remember when the Doctor was me."
I just saw the first episode of the 8th cycle where Matt appears for the last time. One thing I know for sure is that I will miss him a lot in this role, that I felt with this particular character will slowly fade from my heart.
I love Matt Smith as the doctor. He's by no doubt my favourite and I miss him so much. I'm just not feeling Peter Capaldi, I don't like him. Too grumpy, too stiff. Matt was definitely the best for me. I miss him and I will never forget him. I hope there comes a special episode where Matt appeares him because I would love to see his lovely face on the screen again.
though I totes agree that Matt was the #bestdoctorwhoevereverseeoelikehimagain...I think I DO sorta like Peter Capaldi but I'm woderin if its only cause Clara is still the companion #clarafavecompaion!
"Raggedy Man. Good night" Always emotional to say goodbye to the Doctor with each regeneration. I hope the new guy playing the Doctor will bring as much energy and fun into the character as previous actor's have
He won't rather series 8 is confirmed to be a much darker than the previous ones. This time no lovey dovey triangles going on. It's gonna Jack the Ripper killing people left and right as well as companions firing left and right. Or that's my guess. :P
“I will not forget one line of this. Not one day. I swear. I will always remember when the Doctor was me.” - last words of the 11th Doctor. Best Doctor Who quote ever!
That speech.....mixed in with those extremely important and emotional moments. Man I am crying worse than I did when I was little and watched the reboot to bridge to tarabythia. Freaking sad.... It's not possible to explain the way I feel about Matt Smith. My bro introduced the show to me with the first episode of doctor who's reboot. I wasn't hooked until one afternoon where I was bored started watching from beginning and....man the amazing acting and the sheer emotion and passion that resided in the 9th 10th and 11th were just.....unexplainable. Wherever this goes I will always miss Matt Smith. I would have been content if Matt Smith stayed forever. Then again knowing that eventually every version of the doctor dies only makes you cherish every actors time as him even more...... For me, Doctor Who will never be the same.
Always liked Tom Baker and Patrick Troughton the best and nobody could match them. The Ecclestone arrived and I though he was great but still not Baker/Troughton. Then we got Tennant and I thought he was the worst doctor ever (sorry fangirls I just don't like the 'human' style doctor, nothing against Tennant more how he was written). But then Matt Smith arrived, and within his first episode I was completely sold, by the end of the angel 2 parter I was finding myself talking about Smith in the same vein as I talked about TBaker/Troughton, and by the end of series 5 he had surpassed them and became my favourite doctor ever. Congratulations Matt on an amazing tenure on the show, you were truly incredible.
I liked Tennant and I'm a dude. Although I've never seen the oldies. Tennant was just really fun, and emotional. I could feel what he felt just by his expression, and eye's. Matt did an excellent job as his successor, but Tennant has a special place in my heart as the hook that led me to my inevitable conversion into a Whovian. ;-)
I am SO damned HAPPY to hear people reference " Classic " Who, since some people have trouble absorbing the fact that there was a Doctor Who before the trio of Eccleston,Tennant & Smith.( Or the quartet of Eccleston, Tennant, Smith & Hurt from " Day of the Doctor " )
Corey Doyle I didn't like David Tennant because he tried to copy Tom Baker and Peter Davison, and did it badly, he's a dodgy version of 4 and 5, and he's really bad.
Geordie Walker I would not say he was bad. Just not as good as, say, Hartnell or Eccleston or indeed Smith. And he suffered tremendously from bad scripts.
Every Doctor was and is amazing. I always thought that the 11th would be my alltime favourite until I watched all the episodes from the remake on. Now I have a hard time making a favourite BUT the storyline of the 11th was the best one so far (12 is close though) but Amilia Pond and Rory Williams will always remain my favourite companions. I dropped tears when Amilia would die. And the lovestory between Amilia and Rory is the most beautiful I mean he waited 2000 years for her. I love Clara and she is awesome and so were Rose and Donna and Martha but Amilia was special. And not only because she was a fucking hot ginger.
I do remember, how annoyed i was of matt smiths portrayal of the doctor, back when david tennant played the doctor. But he grew on me and now i find it quite saddening that he ist gone.
Exactly the same here.. I watched all of the new series (till the season 5) in one big marathon in 2011, and I got really sad when David leaved. And then Matt comes and I hated him in the start, but now he grew up so much on me that he is now my favorite. But the show must go on and Capaldi is a great actor. I can't say how much Doctor Who is to me, I can't remember how my life was making sense without it.
Thank you for the best retrospective I've seen on Matt Smith. I have repeatedly said he is my favorite because he really "got" the Doctor. I miss him immensely. Peter Capaldi is a poor ghost of the Doctor I love. I shed tears of joy thru this entire video. Again, thanks.
Awww I'm getting a little teary watching this. Each regeneration fills me with both sadness and excitement for the next chapter. The moment where The Doctor has that vision of Amy towards the end, takes off his iconic bow tie had me weeping. Was such a wonderful end to Matt Smith's incarnation. I look forward to the next Doctor's journey. Each face is a new facet of the Doctor's character and so much more to discover of this enigmatic man.
I can not tell you how much I miss Matt as the Doctor. He was my first Doctor and he will always be my favorite, he was the best in my eyes. 'Raggedy Man, Goodnight.'
oh boy i teared up at this, this was made years ago yet i still miss 11. my favourite doctor, always will be. he was my childhood, i grew up with 11. thank you for this.
Matt Is My Doctor. I Will Always Consider Him The #1 Best Doctor Of All Time. From His Debut To The Time Of The Doctor, From Amy And Rory To Clara. I Will Always Remember You, Goodbye Raggedy Man, You Shall Be Missed.
This video is amazing! Eleventh was my first doctor, and people say you won't forget your first doctor, that is totally true. Thank you, whoever made this video, it beautifully depicts the eleventh time.
Everyone complains about Peter Capaldi because he isn't your boyfriend anymore.. He's a brilliant Doctor and I love seeing him as The Doctor. The writing could be better, but Capaldi is doing a fantastic job.
I remember first tuning into Doctor Who on the 26th March 2005 after my dad said he remembered watching it as a kid. He said it was about a man in a box that was a time machine, and that I'd probably like it. I did. Although I was only 5 at the time and hardly understood any of the dialogue, I still found it amazing. Then about 6 years later, Matt Smith came along. I didn't really know what to think. After the regeneration, my cousin said he looked like a moose and I was was of course skeptical of this new impostor. Who could he be? How could he take Tennant? But then after his first episode and his "basically, run" speech, I decided to go ahead and like him, I liked his eccentricity and general madness that had only really appeared in the 4th Doctor before. I went to see the Day of the Doctor in 3D at the cinema and I have to say it was the best Doctor Who episode ever - and probably always will be. Although his stories sometimes got a little out of hand, I always loved them and I'm sure that until the day I die, the 11th will always be my Doctor. You have really captured what I love about that TV series.
Great job. I love how the video ended with Amelia Pond and the Doctor, rather than the transformation into the next doctor. Love the choice of music too. Thank you.
But..but i loved his bow-tie, his humor and personalaty as 11 i thought its hard to say goodbye to David..seems i was wrong its hard and sad to say good bye to any of those two..
Matt Smith is my favourite Doctor. That will never change. I think it's appauling that people are trying to say that he is the worst when he brought in most of the shows more recent viewers. He was the Doctor that showed his more depressing side, while trying to joke around and keep the people around him happy. He made specifict decisions in episodes which linked back to the Time War. You cannot say at all that he didn't have much input into the story of the Doctor because I believe he most certainly did. He gave himself hope of finding the planet Gallifrey once more. Amy and Rory, then Clara gave him help, comforted him too. If he didn't have any of them with him, he would have probably killed himself. The reason he was a young Doctor was showing that he didn't want to be old and it shows that he couldn't forgive himself for back then, but now he does. The input from Moffat kept the whole story original. I'm happy that Moffat wrote all of Matt's stories, it helped show the Doctor's more depressing side.
Thank u for making this beautiful tribute to my favorite version of the Doctor. I loved Matt Smith as the doctor and always will. I don't think there will ever be a version of the doctor who I like as much as him. He could be both really weird yet hilarious. The eleventh doctor made me a fan of Doctor Who. I never could really get into the show until he was the doctor. I was so heartbroken when he died for the final time.
He'll forever be my favorite Doctor and Amy my favorite companion 😥❤️

Exactly the same here.. I watched all of the new series (till the season 5) in one big marathon in 2011, and I got really sad when David leaved. And then Matt comes and I hated him in the start, but now he grew up so much on me that he is now my favorite. But the show must go on and Capaldi is a great actor. I can't say how much Doctor Who is to me, I can't remember how my life was making sense without it.
This is the most amazing Matt Smith Doctor Who tribute I have seen. I love it!
I'll always remember when the Doctor Was Matt Smith
This is the most heart breaking Doctor Who edited video on RUclips I have ever seen. Absolutely killed me.
2016 and i am sad still after this
try not to cry, cry a lot
6 years on and I still miss him, my doctor.
I'm nearly 62 years old, but I'd just like to say, Matt Smith is THE Doctor.
I managed to keep the tears in until the last clip :'( We miss you raggedy man :(
oh boy i teared up at this, this was made years ago yet i still miss 11. my favourite doctor, always will be. he was my childhood, i grew up with 11. thank you for this.
Fezzes are red

Sarah Lawz
Fezzes are red,
The TARDIS is blue.
Bowties are cool,
And so are you. :3
رائع
Matt Smith is unforgettable.
heart breaking
Every time I go through a hard time I look at this video and remind myself that nothing is forever
you sir, deserve all the cookies, now i must be off
*sits in corner and cries*
Even after about 3 years, I still can't handle it.
Amazing piece. Brought many tears.
This is one of 2 tributes for 11 that I hold above any others. Matt Smith was the best Doctor yet.
i need to find a script of his final words. that would make a great monologue for a theater audition if you can get the emotions right
matt cried on his final lines during script reading
Such a beautiful video! It became an addiction for me. I watch it everyday.
The best Doctor for me was the 11th but if 12 is half as good the show will be fine in my mind long live the king of science fiction
This is truly heart touching, and beautiful. Thank you, Geronimo
this is so emotional. the three best doctors in my opinion are david tennant , tom baker and matt smith
I'm gonna miss the raggedy man, I guess I'll see him on Netflix or Hulu.
This video is amazing! Eleventh was my first doctor, and people say you won't forget your first doctor, that is totally true. Thank you, whoever made this video, it beautifully depicts the eleventh time.
袁詠涵 glad you enjoyed :)
Everyone complains about Peter Capaldi because he isn't your boyfriend anymore.. He's a brilliant Doctor and I love seeing him as The Doctor. The writing could be better, but Capaldi is doing a fantastic job.
+Josh Morris The writing this series is brilliant
Wahhh yes he is dr who is ruined wahhh
I remember watching this two years ago, I still the same about it. Pure brilliance!
I will miss him
WE will miss him
I remember first tuning into Doctor Who on the 26th March 2005 after my dad said he remembered watching it as a kid.
This completely killed my feels
We will always remember when the doctor was him.
He was, so awesome.
80 Daleks disliked this touching, moving and amazing tribute to the doctor we all loved so much
Roses are red, Tardis is blue. The Ponds are dead. Eleven is too.
Yes. I went there.
I might have been with new who from the start. But matt was my doctor, and he always will be.
Well done .
No that was not ok! That was to many feels destroyed in one video! Very well done sir you deserve all the applause.
I watch this video more than ten times a day! Hans Zimmer + the awesomeness from doctor who makes it just so amazingly beautiful!
steven moffat has labelled peter capaldi's doctor as the darkest doctor
Matt Smith will always be my Doctor, I'll never get over him
*Puts on her fezz and slowly walks over to the darkest corner and sobs quietly*
*Eats fishfingers and custard whilst doing so*
.
While so many loves David Tennant. My favorite Doctor was Matt Smith.
