Curse this win streak for fooling management into trading 3 of our 4 best prospects for washed Chris Archer
It saddens me to see how close this team was to a championship and Neal Huntingdon and Nutting blew up this team. Incompetence and greed trumped any interest in the Pirate fans, which I have been one since 1958.
I miss Polanco, Josh Harrison and Josh Bell.

We were 9 games away from being Oakland
Polanco was a beast that year until he got hurt. Not a great batting average but a high sluggish percentage and OPS.
I miss our old team that actually got us to over 90 wins
This wasn't even a 90 win season. It was about as average a season as you can get and to pirates fans it feels like we won the world series because winning seasons are so rare for the pirates

@@miclvoorhis21 Exactly. This win streak convinced the front office that they were a good team that was just missing a few pieces which was so far from the truth. Pirates were in need of a huge rebuild which this win streak caused nothing but problems. The past two seasons hurt this team for the next 5 years at least.
@Bruce shweky I mean Glasgow was absolutely terrible when he pitched for us so we were gonna get rid of him regardless.
Nowadays it's not uncommon for them to have 10 game losing streaks.

I know this was such a magical team can’t believe we traded away meadows and Glasnow for archer we could’ve been a playoff team if we went out got some veteran bats and relivers and traded away prospect that would take years to develop to the majors not ones that are already in it
