This 50" flexible looks great! It screams for a DIY project for my old GP Extreme that is collecting dust. Any hints on how many turns and what litz wire was used on that 50"? Thank you!
Thanks Woody for the new one. please: For coils (50in). 1- It is better how far the device box will be from the pull coil? 2- What is better in depth (coil shape), round or square? 3- Does increasing coil size increase battery power consumption? 4- For large targets (treasure chests), can the depth exceed 2 meters? Thanks, Woody, and I apologize (for so many questions).
Yes , it depends on the coil diameter, but if the control box is mounted to the skid plate and does not move in relation to the coil then the coil will not detect the control box.
Hi Woody I need your opinion for making my own metal detector I don't have access to commercial circuits and detectors where that's why i want to make one for myself I want to make a metal detector using only Ready modules 1 Frequency Generator module adjustable (1hz~1Mhz) 2 Frequency meter display 3 a power MOSFET for the output of Frequency Generator so if the output of Frequency Generator is 15 milliamps so the output of MOSFET will be 500 milliamps (adjusting) 4 transmitter coil 5 receiver coil 6 preamplifier module (your opinion on this as well the minimum of current to turn it on) 7 Big capacitors as filters 8 Audio amplifier 9 speaker 10 supply module for feeding them all Can it be a good metal detector? It's so important for me please guide me

Thankyou woody , for the information about these coils, ill look into getting one of these coil , their a good idea .
Yes, if you want to find deep objects.
Thanks Woody for the new one.

@@DetectorMods thanks
Round is the best for depth, as long as the box and coil move the same it is not a problem , as for depth there are too many variables.
@@DetectorMods Thanks
Do you have depth test videos of these coils
I can make some videos.
Can you assist me in getting one of Dave's coils

Hi Woody
I need your opinion for making my own metal detector
I don't have access to commercial circuits and detectors where that's why i want to make one for myself
I want to make a metal detector using only Ready modules
1 Frequency Generator module adjustable (1hz~1Mhz)
2 Frequency meter display
3 a power MOSFET for the output of Frequency Generator so if the output of Frequency Generator is 15 milliamps so the output of MOSFET will be 500 milliamps (adjusting)
4 transmitter coil
5 receiver coil
6 preamplifier module (your opinion on this as well the minimum of current to turn it on)
7 Big capacitors as filters
8 Audio amplifier
9 speaker
10 supply module for feeding them all
Can it be a good metal detector?
It's so important for me please guide me
