  • In this Video i am going to explain how to make the best ever metal detector coil, some of this will apply to coin and treasure detectors but it is for mainly pulse induction gold detectors. This is a no compromise design approach that technically is unbeatable.

    Hello sir, I am from Egypt and we do not have graphite spray. Is it possible to grind the graphite column in the radio and add it to the liquid varnish and use it as a shield for a Surf metal detector?

      It will not work but you can try the carbon from a battery.

    What about aerogel? Encapsulated in a very thin e-fiberglass as the former? I know there aerogel is fragile . shaping it then add a silk thin layer of fiberglass or even use wax, shape the wax coat in fiberglass, then melt the wax out, so its a hollow former, then the coil cover/housing. Possibly a medium infill 3d print. The possibilities are endless, and only a handful are possible to consider perfect! Have a awesome day!

    I was looking at frequency generator I bought a few yesrs ago never did anything with. It has b LL a 3-15 v input and two wire outout. .1%-100% and 0.1-150khz, i also have a bag full of mosfet breakout boards basically, its basically a relay using MOSFETs in place of s coil and contact. I was thinking about attempting a crude detector using it, using a send coil, and a receive coil, use a am radio if nothing else, set off station with the coil connected to the antenna but use an Arduino to sense the pulse current then listen to the sense coil, with the ability to pulse the coil to 150khz, in 1/10 hz increments, i was thinking of using snout 48 strands of 44 awg wire gor thr coil i think that is 0.01mm wire, its the smallest i can find, probably smaller than i can comfortably work with. I'd kinda like to attemp braiding it over to vinyl line about .1mm, its not to build a detector really . Its to experiment, the mosfets are good for 400 watts, each, pulsing a coil with 15plus amps. A coil with 0.2 dc ohm , maybe get a large high voltage capacitor and a high voltage dc boost converter, using the MOSFETs I have as a gate driver for a high voltage, high current IGBT, pulse the coil at 480v and instant current around 5-10 amps plus, using a higher resistance coil , possibly read the current ifvthr pulse a simply as using a shunt, with a micro controller, the the voltage to digital signal and such could come in handy , block the pulse then read the coil during the dead time. I would like to play around, see what i can learn. Maybe stuff that csn be readbinba book, that was learned 75 years ago, experiment and experience is thr fun of learning!

    Great Info! Woody if I want to make my own 50" mono coil with this litz wire do I have to use the same 15 meters? Or how many turns and microHenry does the 50" have to be? Thank you very much for your videos!

      All these detectors use a 300uh type coil, they are most likely interchangeable.

    Hey mate, do you have any vids tearing down an NF evolution? I had pulled one down due to cut wire and was re joining inside the coil but forgot whether the stripped portion of the cable starts inside the ferrite choke or further back.

    • @DetectorMods
      @DetectorMods  3 месяца назад

      Ferrite choke?

    • @bunker_1284
      @bunker_1284 3 месяца назад +1

      @DetectorMods ferrite suppression sleeve might be the more correct term... this coil has the cable running throughout one where the main cable gets soldered to the winding wires and the smaller farraday coating wires. Now I'm not sure if the stripped portion of cable started inside it or further back

    • @DetectorMods
      @DetectorMods  3 месяца назад

      This is interesting as i incorporated a ferrite sleeve into coils going back 10 years or more, it is in one of my very old videos, i went away from ferrite to use a higher permeabilty iron powder type core as the coils are more susceptable to lower frequency interference from AM radio stations, as they are structurally air gapped you can use a very small core as they do not magnetically saturate. @@bunker_1284

      It can be tailored for large and small pulses from 280 uh small gold to 340 uh for larger gold but 300 is a good .

    Sir, I own a Fisher CZ6 with an 8 inch diameter coil and it has decent depth, but I would like to have a bigger coil so I could find things at deeper depth. I used to own a 10.5" coil and used it for relic hunting. I would like to have a bigger coil than that one. Do you know anyone who would build me a 14" or 15 " search coil to use on my Fisher CZ6 metal detector?

      Дорогой друг! Вы можете сделать большую катушку сам,это не так сложно как кажется, у нас в России многие делают,работы там немного,но самое долгое это ждать полимеризацию смолы, смола в катушке должна окончательно отлежаться почти месяц чтоб ее свойства были окончательно неизменны. Так же очень хорошие свойства катушки показала заливка катушки клеем kleyberit 501.
