- Here is a short list I comprised of my Top 5 favorite Toyota Tacoma mods currently. Whether you're just modifying your daily driver, building an overland vehicle or preparing for more extreme 4x4 off roading, this list of my favorite modifications might be worth considering.. These are aftermarket modifications that I have found most useful, most exciting or to have made the greatest over all impact on my driving experience.

Love it! I swapped my badge grill two days ago for the TOYOTA letters and I can't stop looking at it. The letter colors match the truck (Cement) so it is a perfect compliment.
Good to see some Tacoma footage once again. I was starting to go through withdrawals.
I agree... the winch gives you that confidence that you can take your truck anywhere and if you get it stuck, you got the winch to help you.

Thanks for an informative video, best mod on my Tundra are my king shocks. Other than that it’s gonna be 33” tires on 17” wheels, sliders and be done. So many mods are not necessary like you’ve said but that’s what I’ve narrowed down mine to.

Glad to know it's not just my dog that looks like an ASPCA commercial during bath time.
I have 3 inch puck spacer in the front and 2 in the rear. Falken wildpeaks and it gives my truck a nice aggressive look and it performs pretty well off road (I don't go rock climbing or hardcore out in the woods) I go to light trails and such. I plan on going HAM in the future though.

Thanks man. I was wondering how people felt about their lifts, tires, and shaving the front for that style of bumper/winch combo. I’m aiming to buy a new Tacoma this year, and I’ve been exploring options to get the full use of the truck, sans the things causing headaches lol.
So hilarious with the wig and singing clip. I’m a new sub and laughing my face off now. Btw I’m getting a new tundra to replace 20y/o tundra and will use for off-road mountain biking camping adventures. Considering a Tacoma but want the extra size to carry more bikes and stuff

for me, the audio is ALWAYS the first thing to change in a car, because you will ALWAYS use it. its either BOOM or bust. then we can talk about offroad mods lol. Besides having some badass tunes while doin badass things is always fun.

i dunno whether i should install a steel bumper or aluminum. i love that high clearance style and don't mind cutting into my ride. should i install steel rock sliders and skid plates or go aluminum too? how much did your widebody flares and lift with tires cost you? but yeah, regearing is on my top priority before i add anything.
look into patriot campers designs on designing a trailer to fit your roof top tent, sidebyside, and any other accessories to free up your taco.

The 2nd mod I did was sliders, after tires, many more later. I went off a rock step I didn't anticipate while driving into the sun, and kissed the slider hard. It soaked up the hit no problem, but would have been a major rocker-panel bummer had I not installed them.

Good looking rig. I am able to ride on 33s on a 23 trial Tacoma with OTT tune with no suspension modification. Plan for more weight and bumpers. Gears (4.88) before weight comes though.
Do you have a manual trans or an auto? I got a 2019 OR m/t but I feel like I hit the dirt/rocks way too hard and I don’t want to rub the clutch. Any advice?? I normally ride out in Anza and Joshua tree area. Btw best mod are clips to hold a shovel. Gotten through some gnarly stuff in a stock truck with a shovel.

Maxx Love your videos. I would love going with kings or icons for my Tacoma lift but don't want to waist on that right now. What do you think about bilstein 5100s for my lift? Do you recommend them?
Edwin Rod I have Icon and wouldn’t recommend because the are digressively valved and therefore way less options as far as shops that will rebuild them. I wish I spent a couple hundred more for king or fox, or saved a grand and got bilstein 6112 up front and 5160 in back. The 6112/5160 is a couple hundred more than the 5100s but is by far the best bang for you buck. Just my .02 haha

I’m sure they’re time where you don’t want to get up and keep grinding, but please do, because you give me, give us, the visual that we can do great things if we keep focused on what we love. So would I be able to go 20-30 in a train yard with a bunch of potholes? Some 1-2 inches deep? Would that damage the axle or anything?

I have a 2020 Tacoma trd off road. I do not like the gearing either. I’m not a person that goes off road often if at all but I would appreciate a recommendation for an upgrade gear set up for a non off roading set up.

Winch is on my list too, plus an ARB Summit front bumper, Mobtown HC rear bumper, lift, and some other stuff lol
What year is the truck? The 2020 has a camera in the grill, and the premium sound system is pretty good, not compatible to a full blown custom car show quality system but not bad.
What Method wheels are those getting and i’m getting a 2020 Tacoma soon
Test drove a '20 Pro yesterday. Coming from a late 2nd gen Sport, what a difference. Once I get a dealer who doesn't try to gouge the fuck out of me, I'm getting one. Your videos have had a part in putting me into this debt lol

Not for me but I have heard of that happening. That's more of an issue with instal than the actual system its self. If you dont get the pannels back together correctly then they will rattle
What size tires is he running with that kind of lift? Were those 315's?

Do you have to scrub your truck, or is your entire wash touch-less? been considering buying a detail kit, with the foam cannon and all that good stuff and a pressure washer just because i dont wanna bend down and scrub shit XD

Yeah that plus components fail more frequently and they make a lot of noise
My buddy made a rack in his garage so he could quickly pull in and unlatch his tent from his rack and then he got a small rack for his trailer so he could not only take his tent on and off in like 2 minutes but could switch it from his trailer to his truck depending on what he needed for his trip. And if he didn’t want it at all he would just leave it hanging from the ceiling in his garage. I don’t know if there’s a company that does it (he built it himself). Always thought it was a cool idea though
